I had the worst experience of my life at Kroger's. I have been shopping there for years. It is the closest grocery store to me. I had one of the employees following me around while me and my infant son shopped and then she followed me to self check out and accuse me of stealing. They had me unload my entire basket and put everything into a different basket along with everything I was buying, I had to remove my infant son and move him to a new basket as well. I have never stole anything in my life nor will I ever and this is outrageous being accused of stealing Groceries. I will never be shopping at Kroger's again. read more

This was the first non-exxxon gas station I saw as The Dragon had been alerting for some miles throughout the Baytown that she needed some pig juice to make it back to the 146 for the good old times. But I would rather let the teens on Fortnite pour sugar in the gas tank and make a sexy time explosion on the windshield as they often threaten to do on the xbox live, before I would ever visit an exxxon for a fill up of an automocar or other driving contraption. I had the only car that was not a local good old boy's monster truck at the pumps (why do they all have Monster Energy drink stickers on the back window? I like the drink too, but I do not need to advertise to other people on the freeway that I like this drink so they are certain of what is in my fridge at home?) so I was getting my fill of stares as I was trying to gas up The Dragon and git. That was my first feeling like I was there on the first day of prison orientation tightly clutching my Hello Kitty purse to my chest as everyone else was sharpening their knives and tattooing "Zaddy's property" tramp stamps on each other while they gossiped about which guard could choke you hard enough you didn't need to ask him to choke you harder to get you there, because sometimes they play too much. There was a nice billowing cloud of plastic trash blowing across the fill up lanes so clearly they do not get the convicts around these parts to pick up the trash very often. I guess the plastic trash blowing erstwhile is postmodern commentary on what used to be tumbleweeds around these parts. The credit card receipt giver installation actually worked at the pump so that is the justification for two stars so I could just rip the paper and git, rather than having to spend more time among the monster trucks and the odd stares I was getting since I clearly did not fit in around these parts. I am sitting in Kroger's Pickup with about 12 other people waiting for our groceries to be brought out. I've been waiting for 35-40 minutes and there are still people here that were here when I got here. I called the manager and he basically said that they didn't know there would be so many orders. They didn't appear to be overly concerned. They half heartedly apologize for the inconvenience. They have a computerized system so why doesn't someone know how to use it. They have one little boy delivering the groceries to us. If they are able to know how many cashiers they'll need on a given day; why don't they know how many people they need in pickup. Hi! I'm home-bound due to a motor vehicle accident. I did an online order for home delivery from the Garth Rd store. Upon receipt of my nearly $100 grocery order, as I'm unpacking I notice some of my bags and groceries have little black insects crawling all around. I call the store to address the issue and I'm advised to adjust the price or get a refund the items have be brought back to the store. Also, the store has been having an internal issue with these insects in the pastas (which I ordered), rice and flour. The associate did advise me if the items are placed in the freezer the insects will die, therefore we don't worry about consuming them. I also share concern with others who have posted the horrible decision by management to remove small carts and hand-held baskets, the strategy being that larger carts will result in larger grocery purchase totals. read more

I effing love this Kroger. I come at least twice a week. I love how they carry stylish clothing and shoes, home decor, all in one place. Today my total was 209 but when I put in my kroger card it went down to 127! Wooo! But look. There is a cashier and his name is Will and he literally smells so bad I had to hold my breath the whole time i was checking out. I've never smelled worse body odor in my life. The new manager is a jerk, he did away with the hand baskets so now when I am only picking up 2 or 4 items I have to push the BIG cart around with 3 things in it. There are none of the smaller carts either so now I am a HEB shopper. I forgot how good their prepared meals are and how much better their produce is. Also their cakes are better priced and they aren't making them a lot smaller like Kroger is so thank you Mr new manager for helping me out. Do Not get Delivery from here! Still waiting on order scheduled for 9-10am and it is 11:30! Called customer service, which was a joke. First person was nice and tried to be helpful, then was disconnected. Second call to customer service and she was rude, not apologetic that the order was so late and after 29 minutes of holding, no one could tell me what the problem was. All she would say is "they must be running a bit late". I said they could at least contact the customer and let them know they are going to be late. Complete silence once her end, no comment. I asked if she could call me when she found out what is going on & she said no, she could not do that. Kroger employees, for the most part (especially management) are griossly lazy and incompetent. They are continually blaming covid for their lousy service. Kroger's computer software has frequent errors. Items that are out of stock are not so-indicated. You are allowed to order those items, and be charged for them, only to find out that they are unavailable. You are not often offered substitutions, either, and Kroger puts a hold on the full dollar amount. You must wait a week or so to get your money back. Someone makes a total mess of your credit card accounts or debit card account. What they do is to make things so confusing that you don't know if you are being refunded or not. I suspect that they might be ripping us off. If you choose to do business with them, keep your eyes open--both of them. read more

FINALLY. This is exactly what Baytown has needed. I really feel like Baytown is moving on up because now we have a huge Kroger Marketplace and an Aldi grocery store. What's next? An Alamo Drafthouse? A theme-park? Come on, Baytown, you can do it! I will warn y'all, this place is traffic packed. It's like the Walmart on Garth with less parking and a little bit more crowded. Mind you, I did go on the day that it opened, but I have a feeling this is going to be a regularly crowded place. It is HUMONGOUS. About the size of Wal-Mart and has everything you could basically need, including clothing (plus-size!) and furniture. There is a full-size salad bar, olive bar, delicatessen, deli (with some really delicious roasted chicken and coleslaw), a Starbucks, a bakery, a meat and seafood counter, a sushi stand, a Tortillaria, a sandwich shop and a sitting area to enjoy your Caramel Frappucino and turkey sandwich. They also have a great plant section where I found some beautiful tulips for about 13$. They have a good section of clothing and shoes, including bras, underwear and swimsuits! In the makeup section, they even had Smashbox makeup locked behind a display case. They have toys, Easter decorations, home decor and furniture too! They have the usual Kroger staples but what I really liked was that they have a HUGE craft beer and wine section and they stocked some new local beers for the "make your own 6-pack for 9.99$" deal that we love. While we were there, they were having craft beer tastings throughout the store and by the time we left, my husband was pretty drunk. Definitely check out your local brews, especially the No Label Brewing Company beers! The best part is that when you shop at Kroger, you get a .10$ discount on fuel so save your points and fuel up on your way out. I'm so glad that this place is here. Omg this store just opened yesterday here in Baytown and it's awesome!!! Well for all you wine and beer lovers there is a BAR!!! The wine selection is amazing!!! Thy have a huge variety of wine which is my favorite. They sell clothes, shoes, electronics, all kinds of cooking utensils. Their meats and produce are A+ of course with a reasonable price. I've never been excited about grocery shopping until I came here. There is also a Krogers gas station which is very handy. This location is huge and almost as big as Walmart. There is plenty of parking and other stores that are opening nearby. Baytown is moving up with a lot of new places. I love it. If you are in the Baytown area stop by Krogers! read more

Potentials there but they need to work out some service issues. Went to the salad bar at 6:00 PM on a Wednesday night, there was no lettuce and several toppings were empty. I waited for 10 minutes to see if someone would come to replenish but no one showed up. I did see several employees walking around looking bewildered and several others checking out their phones however. Two of the soups were also completely empty. Decided to get a sandwich but once again couldn't find anyone to make one for me or to even acknowledge my presence. Checked out the sushi but given the way the other areas looked I decided not to risk it. Walked out of the store without making a purchase and went somewhere else to get something to eat. Sorry Kroger but need to figure out how to recruit employees who understand what service is. Try visiting a Trader Joe's or a Wegmans someday, they've got it figured out. read more

Unprofessional employees at this location. Jorge and Daniel were standing next to the courtesy booth talking when I walked up stating I was overcharged. Jorge told me to drive back to town "tomorrow". I was told I could NOT be helped as the service desk had just closed. The story is long...let's just say a higher supervisor did give permission but Daniel was rude and condescending. But he was following Jorge's lead with his bad attitude towards me. To be fair I was not dressed well as I had been outside my home with the yard maintenance crew all day. I am a senior citizen and a women and I was born in this town and have been going to Kroger's for well over 40 years. H‑E‑B treats customers much better; I suggest you go there if you want to be treated decently. In the end Daniel didn't want to do the right thing.... he just wanted to give me a hard time. Purchased two rib steaks from the meat department. I asked them to cut a small rib roast in half. We like bone in steaks, the flavor is far superior. They were marked as USDA Choice. Choice is not as good as prime, but still is supposed to have marbling and thus being tender and have a good flavor. These steak were terrible. When I got home and unwrapped them, I looked them over. Not much marbling, I thought hmmm.... We grilled the steaks and they were terrible. The steaks were quite tough and void of flavor. The meat department here has won. I have had quite a few bad experiences with this department's employees and the product they sell. I won't be going back to bother them anymore. In addition to the misrepresented grading on the beef, I purchased broccoli that I discovered was rotten on the inside of the stalk. Unfortunately, we discovered the rotten produce when we cut into it on our plates. Real appetizing... I will be going back one last time, to return the uneaten cooked steaks, the rotten stalk of broccoli and the receipt. I will be requesting a refund. read more

Kroger marketplace is Kroger expanded into a one stop shop. Before it was a Kroger signature pretty small but had a little of everything. But now! They have clothes, shoes, flowers, plants, home decor, outdoor decor, an Asian bistro with sushi, a boars head deli section and a kiosk to order sandwiches, an olive bar, salad bar, bakery, seafood post, nuts and snack area, cold beverage post, chairs to sit and chill, Starbucks, a huge wine selection, a wine and beer bar (yup) and a cheese bar. Cheese bar! . Samples galore -who don't like them some samples?) They have a toy section and of course your typical grocery aisles with all the necessities. This is a remarkable addition to Baytown and excited to see what else is to come in that area. The grand opening was yesterday March 16 and they did not disappoint. They even have a Kroger gas station where you can redeem your shopper points. Way to go Kroger! read more

I'm always having issues with this Kroger bakery department. I ordered a birthday cake for my daughter 's bday. I specifically made it clear that i was reluctant to order because last time they lost my order & my husbands order too. The young man assured me the order would be made. Picked up the order; however, we cut the cake 2 days later due to our busy schedule. They made a marble cake instead of a chocolate. I called the store & notified "Margaret" she was very rude & curt at the very beginning. She made the statement that I ordered the cake for 12/16, but I'm just calling on 12/18. This was not her place to decide when I was supposed to serve the cake. "Margaret" then said she can remake the cake. I sent my son to return the remaining cake & pick up the new one. My son returned home; to my demise, the replacement cake was smashed on the top because the box was too small. How could Kroger send a cake out the door like that? I called to voice my thankfulness for the replacement; however, I was very disappointed for the way the new cake looked. "MARGARET" began to argue with me. She denied the cake was smashed. She accused my son of smashing the cake. I went on to ask her why was she arguing with me. I'm a paying customer. "MARGARET " also told me "you brought a half eaten cake,back to me & you expected a new cake." This cake was for my child's bday. Did she really expect us to NOT serve & cut the cake because Kroger messed up. We had guests to serve. How dare she sound so stupid. She said, "what do you want me to do?" I exclaimed, "for starters, apologize for your attitude" she said, "absolutely not, I will not apologize "I asked her to let me speak with her superior. Btw: "Margaret " is a manager. She put me on hold, then hung up on me. I called the store & eventually spoke to a manager. "MIKE" I explained the situation and guess what? " Margaret had already ran to tell her side of the story first (which I'm sure was a lie) I'm appalled that Kroger appointed someone this unprofessional to a management position. Is it my imagination or is nothing easy to find here? No it's not because I hear other shoppers voicing frustration about having to WORK to find the dang mayonnaise or whatever. The prime area in the store features -- I kid you not -- clothes! What? Why? Put the clothes over in the back corner and bring the bread and milk up to the prime shopping area. I'm bringing my pedometer next time to measure how any steps I have to make just to buy a few groceries. All the 5 star reviews of March - welcome to June. I too liked this store when it opened but now it is awful. The staff is just PURE RUDE. They HATE their customers. Leaking ceilings everywhere - if that is not enough - I bought eggs. The girl at the counter pushed them hard on the side. Broke it when she was ringing up the wine and told me to go and get another one if I still wanted eggs. - AND yeah - blamed the wine when I asked to see the manager. The manager just stood there. I give 2 stars for the Kroger market being SUPER but the sushi bar is awful. The lady say she's the owner but can't make a special roll adding an item. Love the new Kroger's! So much selection and it never feels crowded because of the new size even when there are tons of people. A major plus is that they offer Clicklist where you order your groceries online and pick them up at a designated date and time. Used it for the first time today and it was a success!! read more
