When she moved to primary care, I had to wait until she was excepting my insurance. I literally set a reminder in my phone every month to call and check. It has been a challenge for me to find doctors that I trust and truly feel have my best interest in mind. Maya is a kind, caring and great at what she does. I feel comfortable and like it's more of team effort vs someone simply telling me what I should and shouldn't do. She wants to learn about her patients lives so she may in turn have a better understanding of what values and goals are important to them. She wants you to voice your concerns because no one knows you as well as YOU. I don't dread my visits to the doctor anymore, which is such refreshing feeling. Enough said - I highly recommend Maya Strom!

Do not seek care with Dr. Gore!…read more In November of 2023, Dr. Gore was a no-call / no-show to our scheduled online appointment, and since she required payment beforehand, she received my money despite never showing up. She sent my prescription to the pharmacy the following day, citing being ill as her reason for not letting me know she wouldn't be available for the appointment. That was the last time I heard from Dr. Gore, and in December of 2023, she did not respond to any of my requests for refills nor my 30+ emails asking for a refund for the appointment she missed back in November. Since Dr. Gore left me hanging without any way to get my medication, I had to find myself a new provider quickly and was left without my meds for a week. I know for a fact that Dr. Gore has been doing this to other patients-- either stealing their money and not showing up to appointments or leaving others without a word from her, never to be heard from again, and scrambling to find a way to get their medication! Dr. Gore's treatment of her patients is negligent, abusive, and illegal, as she has stolen money from multiple patients who are paying for an online appointment but never receive one. The DEA requires an appointment bi-monthly for certain prescription drugs, and she classified the missed appt in November as "asynchronous" because she sent a message that said "sent" to let me know my meds were at the pharmacy. I did not receive any actual care-- she did not ask me if I needed adjustments, if I was experiencing any unwanted symptoms, etc.--so no, that is not an asynchronous appointment because that would still require questions, check-ins, and evaluations. She did none of this. Search "Dr. Gore Reddit Oregon," posted by another patient of hers. I am not the only one she has done this to; she needs to be stopped. I hope to prevent someone from going through the stress that Dr. Gore caused me at the start of the new year.

I was absolutely thrilled to find Susie and her team at Aurora Birth Center. They're very experienced and have a well balanced approach to pregnancy and birth. They have access to all of the screenings and technology, as well as a safe and comfortable, home-like environment. I felt like I had a solid and knowledgeable group of friends I could call on 24 hours a day, if need be. As I got close to delivery, I started getting really excited. We had planned to have a water birth at the beautifully designed birth center; my husband and son were to be present. Plans changed, however, when Paisley arrived 12 minutes after we got there; not even enough time to think about running the water. It was still a lovely birth by candlelight, with mellow ladies helping me along, and my family present. My son got to cut his sister's umbilical cord; what better way to make him feel like a great big brother. Afterwards, I was served a delicious homemade meal (and amazingly sweet strawberries out of Susie's garden). The experience very much fit my definition of perfection. Susie is still my primary care provider, as well as the pediatrician for both of my kids. She takes care of all of our medical needs, from physicals to birth control. Thank you for being you, Susie, and thanks to your wonderful team of ladies, as well.

July 2012 I found out I was pregnant for the first time. Right after I had my first appointment with Susie I experienced a miscarriage around 11wks. She was there to talk to me on the phone and let me know what to expect. I was going to go to the ER and she told me my body would probably be able to do it on its own and if I went to the ER I might be given a D&C. Turns out I could do it on my own and she saved me from what I imagine would of been a very traumatic experience in the ER. A few months later in I found out I was pregnant again. I had a great experience with Susie so I went back. When I was pregnant with my daughter the plan was to have our baby in our home. Through out my pregnancy my blood pressure kept rising and I was very swollen. Sadly near the end I was diagnosed with preclampsia and Susie decided a hospital birth was going to be best for me. I was induced at 37weeks in May 2013. My daughter rushed out into the world in less than 4 hours later. The birth was quick but very intense. Susie was there by my side offering her support the whole time. I very much think Susie made the right choice and if we had our baby somewhere else I feel that mine or my daughters life would of been in danger. When my daughter was about 2 we decided we were going to try to have a 2nd child. I had two miscarriages in 2015 March and July. Both times I went to my first appointments and didn't hear the heart beat. Both miscarriages happened around 11wks. Susie and her staff were there for me once again answering my phone calls even one in the middle of the night. They gave me great advice and guided me through what could of been a really traumatic experience without the help. After these miscarriages Susie did lots of tests and blood work to see if we could find any answers. Everything came back normal so we still don't know for certain what it could of been. Susie helped me make some diet and lifestyle changes in hopes it would help. 2015 was not all bad because near the end of the year I found out I was pregnant again. I figured I would just have another miscarriage so I didn't even make an appointment until I was 12wks. I went in and we herd the heart beat! It was so special and Susie was genuinely happy and excited for us. Our goal for the birth of our son was to have it at the birthing center. Almost no swelling and my blood pressure slowly crept up through out my pregnancy. My blood pressure was ok enough to have him at the birthing center. August 2016 my water broke at 39wks at 6am while I was sleeping. In fear that my son was going to rush out of me like my daughter did I went to the birthing center at 9am. Throughout the laboring process Susie and her staff mostly let us be but offered advice and checked our vitals often. When he was ready to really make his appearance Susie and her staff were very encouraging and helped me get into a better position to ease him out of me. Around 1pm our son was born and everything in the world was perfect. Every experience I have had with Susie and everyone who has worked her has been a positive one. All my appointments have been very professional and the staff is very knowledgeable. I have never felt like a burden or tossed aside. In the 4 years I have been going here I have only had to wait a little longer twice for my appointment, because someone else was having a baby. The birthing center is beautiful and we felt like guests not patients. If you are interested in having a home birth or birthing center experience I would highly recommend.

Issues were getting the run around on a billing matter, getting a different answer from the billing person each of the four times I asked for clarification to the same question. Unprofessional staff at the front desk at times; while waiting for a blood draw both in receptionarea & clinic room there was a very loud extended conversation about using coupons when shopping over the previous week end. The blood draw person commented on it as well; we were in a closed door room but could clearly hear the conversation which droned on & on. Most important issue was lack of treatment. Though Lisa, the provider I saw, diagnosed several issues, offered no treatment, though she did order a blood test which was relevant to one of the issues but I did not receive any treatment for that. When I called Providence Customer Care to find another option, they were familiar w Sunrise Clinic for previous complaints for lack of treatment/undertreatment. I realized also that if I were to become ill or have an accident, I would need to be under the care of an MD & that's not a good time to have to find one. I didn't find I got much extra time w an NP provider, as opposed to an MD provider, which frankly was one of the reasons I chose this clinic. I could go on but this is the gist of it. Occurred 2019.

They recently moved away from the more universal Mychart and implemented their own version. What a nightmare that has been. They lost records and I can't even work with them. I decided to start using a private lab because they offer substantialy more tests for significantly less money. Why should I be forced to use their lab? I assume they didn't like this because they absolutely refuse to load the results into their version of Mychart, despite me calling many times and providing them the results twice. I mailed them and delivered in person because they refused to accept them electronically or download them from the lab. Last visit they told me at least three times they are a business and eventually refused to see me as a patient. Keep in mind I owe them nothing so it is not a billing or payment issue. I have a wonderful PCP in Dr. Alyusuf and have found the medical receptionists, though often busy, to be consistently polite and willing to go the extra mile to resolve any questions I have. Referrals to specialists are also speedy and accurate. I agree that the phone wait for scheduling can be long, though not always, and there is an option to dial right into the clinic, as well. Maybe I've been fortunate so far, but I feel grateful as a new resident of Tigard to find a wonderful doctor and dedicated staff in a clinic conveniently located nearby.
