I went to Joe's the Thursday before the holiday weekend because I was desperate. I had bought 3 pairs of maternity pants; jeans and dress slacks, and waited to get them hemmed until I just about needed them. Joe is fantastic, he is truly a master at his craft and he has been doing this for years. His work has fantastic craftsmanship, He was thoughtful, talkative and generally very friendly. Joe had my slacks ready in only 4 short days- including the holiday weekend and for only $30.00 it was a total steal! I just love Joe. I've been coming to him for years and have brought him tons of projects and never been disappointed. I've brought him fabrics to make so many curtains and tons of dresses and pants that have needed to be hemmed through the years. Some dresses and skirts I bring are quite difficult with several layers but they always come out great. I'm attaching a pic of a recent shower curtain project he completed for me (I took the pic before I ironed it so there's some wrinkles). I brought him three fabrics and three ribbons, told him what I wanted and got even better results than I envisioned. He put the three fabrics together with a row of ribbon between each layer and one on the bottom. He also had to do grommets for the shower curtain hooks. His seams are "seamless" lol. Everything is so perfectly done always. I do want to comment on another reviewer's comments on his fitting process and the store condition. Yes I agree it is cluttered in there. He needs to do a major spring cleaning and get rid of old mannequins and product customers haven't picked up in a decade. I recall the first few times I went years ago after receiving a referral, I was skeptical that he could even work in those conditions cause it's so cluttered. But he does, somehow. It doesn't bother me because he's an old man and so who cares. I'm not eating or sleeping there so it's not an issue. As far as the lady's comment on the fitting process. Yes, he has that sign up, but I bet if he didn't that she wouldn't even have given the fitting process a second thought. The process is as normal as any other tailor. You go into the fitting room and put on your stuff, you come out and stand on a stool in front of the mirror. Then he just goes around and does his pins and chalk machine. I've never felt uncomfy with him and I am on guard for pervs. So that lady was just looking for something to complain about because he's so sweet, remembers all his customers, is timely with his services, prices are amazingly low, nothing gets lost or damaged, he doesn't make you feel uncomfy in any way. He's just a sweet, old man that is amazing with a sewing machine! read more

I truly am not the type to leave bad reviews, in fact I give credit where it's due, but in all honesty, if you need a good tailer or seamstress, do NOT go here. He ruined my maid of honor's dress and did not want to take ownership of it. He cut the front of the dress too long, however cut the back too short. Her shoes are showing and he had the audacity to tell her to just wear flats! He was not organized and almost took off an important part of the dress. It was just an awful job. With the poor quality of his work, he refused a discount on the work. An extreme rip-off. If I needed to pay $100 for someone to ruin my dress, I would've just asked my toddler niece and nephews. Very disappointed. In addition, this review doesn't even deserve ONE star. That's just being generous. read more

I do not recommend this place. It is a disaster in itself when you walk in. Clothes and items everywhere. You feel uncomfortable by the comments and process of being fitted, and more concerning there is a sign that states you shouldn't ask to get fitted if you will get sexually offended, which means he has had multiple complaints already. Lastly he misquotes you on price. Said one thing and when I went to pick up, completely upped the price. Not a good experience at all. read more

I went in on a Tuesday to get a pair of dress pants hemmed. After he measured, he told me the price and stated the pants would be done next Wednesday. As in, a week and a day. To hem a pair of dress pants. It kinda bothered me, but I was in no rush at the time. Fast forward to next Wednesday. I walk in an hour after they'd opened, a little after 11am. The guy I assume is Joe, chuckles and says he hadn't finished the pants yet. I stared at him with a perplexed look. "Yeah, but you had a week. And this is the day YOU set for them to be done, so...." "I know, I just been so busy... I did start on them. I just didn't get a chance to finish." I asked him when he would be finished, he said later today. I had to pull teeth to get a timeframe as to when I could come back and pick up my pants. He said about 2-3pm today (mind you, it was 11 at this time, so three hours to hem a pair of pants). I came back a little after 3. He had finally finished the pants, 8 days and five hours later. As I took the pants, turned and left, he felt the need to exclaim I owed him $12. Keeping my composure, I turn to him. "I paid you when brought the pants in. Check.Your.Receipt." He looked at the slip he had that stated in his own handwriting he had indeed, been paid already. The work was excellent, there's no denying that. I give credit where it's due. The professionalism and lack of respect for my time is where he fell from grace. I wish him all the best with the $12 he got from me, because he will never see another dime of my money. read more
