    At Lakeside Mall, fast service
    Rob B.

After checking out a couple big box store on-line and in person, we almost walked pass Sam's at 7pm. We then thought, why not! they also have a sale. Not only did they have my size and color, but tailored the pants just right. The kicker, ready one hour later. Way to come through. I will return to have some other tailor work done as well as suit needs as a first stop.

Very personable, friendly and professional, with reasonable rates. He seems to know how to fix any machine you can bring to him. We brought him an old Bernina sewing machine made in Switzerland back in the 60's and my Mom was thrilled he was able to fix the broken belt of that old machine. I highly recommend Utica Sewing Center to anyone who needs their sewing machine fixed.

I have a ~40 year old Pfaff 1215 that I use to make big kites and the foot pedal had died. As well, the machine was struggling with some of the 3 and 4 layer heavy nylon sewing that I do which I have to use heavy duty upholstery thread for which really works the machine hard. Victor took a hold of that thing and in just a few minutes figured out how he could set me up with a working foot petal (a factory replacement would have been $80) and also do a complete reconditioning (which usually runs $100) - both for $150. Victor is very knowledgeable about the inner workings and construction of the sewing machines he services and I can vouch he carries on the tradition of his father's commitment to good service. Nice job VIctor, and thanks again. My machine runs great! Todd Vest bzzh8c@hotmail.com

So, I needed 2 pair of pants hemmed and I've been putting it off forever. I shoved them in the back…read moreof my closet, and it was finally time to get them taken care of. (primarily because I needed them, so that was a motivating factor.) I was recommended to try this place out from my local dry cleaners, and boy, was this a great recommendation! For starters, they have really awesome hours. Their open Monday through Friday 10 am until 7 PM, and Saturdays from 10-6. They also don't require an appointment, which I loved! I was able to swing in here on my way home from work which was easy and convenient. It's located inside the Vince and Joe's shopping center next to Hamlin Pub, so it's relatively easy to find. Walking in, the lobby area is wonderfully decorated and clean. One of the nicest lobbies I think I've ever seen for a tailor/seamstress shop. There were two girls working here and both seemed to know what they were doing One of them had my try my pants on and she made the necessary adjustments to make my pants fit correctly. Surprisingly, they only needed a few days to get my pants done. I dropped them off on a Friday night and I got a text Monday morning saying they were ready? that's a quick turn around. Their prices are competitive, and it's $14 a pair for hemming. Since I had two pair, that's $28. Not to shabby. The other places were charging $15, and some even quoted me up to $20 a pair of pants? UM NO. Overall I was really impressed with the service and overall experience here. While its not close to home, it's easy to find, has great hours and they do good work for alterations. Also, the gal waiting on me said that they were under new ownership. I don't know how long ago that happened, but that's good to know. The reason I found out was because when I checked in here on Yelp, there was a 20% off coupon for first time check ins. She was confused about it and told me the check in was probably from the previous owners. I really loved my time here and their a good place. Will be returning in the future.
