My husband and I started going to Joe's about 15 years ago. It has recently been sold, and seems to be doing really well. There are a couple of nasty reviews here, but I think they are unfair and untrue. The shelves are fully stocked, the service is excellent and the meat as fresh and well priced as ever. Yes, it's a small place, it was always a small place. But they will do whatever is necessary to give you the cut of meat that you want as well as the weight that you want (so I don't have to buy 2 lbs when I only need 1 1/2 lbs) and at a better price than the supermarket. Joe's Market has been a staple of our community for many many years now, however, they have recently sold to another SUB-standard family or company. Their chipped beef used to be a Go-To item under the original ownership, especially on Thursdays for the special pricing. My wife went to get chipped beef for our Cheesesteak dinner and what we got was a finely sliced "something", but after a high heat treatment didn't brown up at all. It wasn't the normal bloody meat that browns up but something else. The new Joe's Market" now = GARBAGE. Idiot behind the counter must've given us the dried chipped beef or who knows what else... We always buy our lunch meat from Joe's, but the new owners cannot even cut their deli meats properly. Morons! How hard is it to cut deli meat?!? My kids used to sell their scout items at that storefront, but no longer will be driving business your way, you Hucksters! read more

What a shame!!!! Joe's has been a neighborhood landmark in Ardsley for generations. Unfortunately, the family sold the business a couple months back and to say it's being run into the ground is an understatement. The shelves are no longer stocked. The prices have doubled and, worst of all, the cleanliness is atrocious. I stopped by the deli to get a pound of cheese and they cut it on the meat slicer so my cheese was covered it bits of various kinds of deli meat. THAT'S CALLED CROSS CONTAMINATION!!!! If that's what they do at the deli can one dare to imagine what's happening behind the meat counter? No thanks! I will miss Joe's Market it was a great store. I won't be going back! read more

Nice new owners but they don't know how to slice lunch meat correctly. No one wants to eat thick cheese or lunch meats. Also the ground chuck is not the same as when the old owners owned the store. Will not buy that again. I do like how they're adding some Philly staples (Gaeta's tomato pie). Hopefully everything will work out for them. read more

I went here for the first time today and I was very impressed with selection, prices, and friendliness of the butcher! Joe's had both hanger steak and picanha available, which are impossible to find in a regular grocery store. Further, I was amazed at how affordable both cuts were considering they are trendier cuts of meat. Lastly, we had a great conversation about steak and life in general - it's clear he really cares about the business and good quality food. I highly recommend everyone visit Joe's (just save some hanger steak and picanha for me) and will definitely be coming back. read more

Amazing place! The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. I'm not from the area, but I would take the hour drive to buy from them.

I needed sandwiches for my daughter's bridal shower and visited a few different places. Joe's was the only one who was willing to work with me to ensure the food was presented safely during this time. They willingly agreed to wrap each sandwich individually at no extra charge and even put a label on each one identifying the filling. To make things even better, the price was great too. When I moved to the area from Upstate New York, I was sad to leave behind the food of my southern tier people, particularly spiedies from Lupo's (see my review for Lupo's in Endicott, NY). I began buying spiedie sauce by the gallon twice a year when I drove back up north. It was a stressful time for me. Then one day I walked into Joe's meat market. What did I see sitting on the meat counter? Lupo's spiedie sauce. Whaaaaaaatttttt? I told Joe I couldn't believe it. My cherished marinade for sale within blocks of my home?? Yes!! It's true!!! Great meat with personalized service. Where else can you go and ask how to cook meat or order just enough to feed a family of 5?? They also sell an amazing rub back at the meat counter so don't miss that. Check out the freezer at the meat counter for some discounts. I knock off one star for the lunchmeat counter. The cleanliness isn't the best. One guy, Joe is always hacking, another lady is not very forgiving of newbies who don't know how to order and finally they don't take much care in wiping down the slicers or wearing gloves. *Update Since last year when my filet wasnt cleaned and tied, I called this morning to see if order was ready. I was told it hadnt been written down to do so but would be ready when I got there. Got to shop and asked at counter if it had been tied. Woman I spoke with said Oh yeah, I talked to you, it's all ready. I get home and ONCE again it is not cleaned OR tied. I don't understand why this is such an issue, especially when I called and then again asked. I tried to call the store but line was constantly busy - not sure if it was off the hook since they are so busy. I'm glad I kept the cooking twine from last year.
