The team took down about 13 trees for me in about 5 hours and they were clearly experienced. However, the clean up process left me wanting more. Unfortunately the team showed up a day after a heavy rain and my entire back yard took a beating, as did the lot next to me where they drove the log truck and bobcat. Additionally, the road in front of my driveway was covered with mud and I'm in a community with an HOA. I asked Josh about clean up, and he said the team would rake it over and clean up the road before they left, which they didn't. Josh even said he would come back and help me spread grass seed and straw over the lot beside me if I would go purchase, which I did but he never showed. I even asked if Josh would come back after the stump grinding to help grade the back area and I would pay him over his normal rate for two hours of work, and he agreed. That's where the transaction went sideways. Josh was hard to get in touch with and never showed back up. He didn't call to negotiate for more money or anything. The few texts I received just said I will be out this weekend or sometime next week. Three weeks later I called and left him a voicemail and said not to worry about coming back. I was left with about 25 hours worth of work and additional expenses for equipment rentals. Just beware what you are getting into when you hire for tree services. I was left with a mess for a backyard, many hours of labor and several hundred dollars of additional expenses for more work to the area before it will be considered "finished." Might be wise to ask your contractor these types of questions upfront and avoid unmet expectations. Price was competitive, tree work was good, cleanup and communication was poor, and follow thru was lacking. Best of luck if you choose these guys in the future!

We needed our backyard cleared for a new playground set for our kids. DTS is These 100% capable of handling big or small jobs. This company has all the right employees and equipment. All limb debris were chipped onsite and leftover large logs were neatly staged roadside for pick up, while all lose debris were hauled away in a dump truck! I was outside speaking to the plumber and saw the Duncan truck driving by. We flagged him down, he gave us and estimate on the spot and was out the next day. The Maple was about 80 ft tall and close to the house. They cut it down with no damage to the property and cleaned everything up. Honestly, you would have never known they were there or the tree was there. They are amazing, professional, dependable and the pricing is fantastic. I was recommended Walker's by a friend and gave Steve a call. I had a quote the same day and the trees were removed within a couple of days (weather wasn't permitting). Great service and skill. One of the trees removed was less than 10 feet from my back door. Two of the others were 25'-40' tall, with limbs hanging over my house and near power lines. I kept the mulch, and the team was kind enough to help spread them over my dirt driveway so that I won't be spinning in mud. Steve helped me work within budget which was also of great help since this was an unexpected but necessary maintenance to my property. I've got great peace of mind heading into the rainy and stormy season that is Georgia in Spring. In fact, I'll be having them back this fall to remove several more trees. I had five trees on my property marked with neon ribbon, along with a sixth tree on my neighbor's property. I had told my neighbor that I was looking for a trustworthy tree removal company and would include his tree in the negotiations if I found the right one. One of the Josken supervisors stopped and asked if I would consider using their company. I explained that I was planning to wait until fall before having the trees removed. He quoted me a price and offered to have the stumps ground as part of the job. I was impressed with both the price and the offer. We shook hands and made the deal. Since my wife and I were leaving in just three days to pick up our grandchildren, I assumed the work would have to wait until we returned. I was surprised when he told me, "We'll have a crew there tomorrow." True to his word, the crew arrived the very next day. They were friendly, professional, hardworking, and completed the job in just a few hours. What impressed us most was the cleanup afterward. When they finished, the property looked excellent. The company and crew absolutely earned five stars. Now, if I'm handing out grades, I have to be a little harder on myself. Everyone knows you should get important details in writing, even when dealing with great companies. Everyone, apparently, except me. I tend to shake hands, trust people, and walk away believing we'll both benefit. The truth is that stump grinding wasn't particularly important to me. Over the years I've cut down more than 200 pine trees on my property, and I often leave a short stump behind and place flower pots with seedlings on top of them. However, I had proudly told my neighbor that I negotiated a good deal and that his stump would be ground. Unfortunately, the supervisor who made the agreement neglected to pass that information along to the crew. When I mentioned it to one of the crew members, he couldn't have been more courteous. With a smile, he said he understood and even offered to see if the company could return later to take care of it, despite the fact that my wife and I would be out of town. That generous offer wouldn't work because our sons let the dogs roam freely inside our fenced property, and opening the gate while we're gone could create problems. I told him not to worry about my stumps. They could stay exactly as they were. The only stump that really mattered was my neighbor's. He assured me he would speak with his supervisor. Unfortunately, by that point most of the equipment had already been packed up and the crews were leaving. Even so, my wife and I remained extremely pleased with the work. It was five-star service from a five-star crew. Later, a friend stopped by and checked the work. I mentioned that the only thing missed was my neighbor's stump. Without hesitation he replied, "That's your fault." He was completely serious. And honestly, he was right. So my only advice is this: even when dealing with excellent companies and honest people, get the details in writing. As for Josken Tree Experts, we'll see you again this fall.
