The museum has good explanation of different types of fossils and different geological eras. I recommend visiting the museum before you head to the beach, that way you know what you are looking for and would be able to recognize some of the fossils displayed at the museum. The town itself is very small, so if you don't have food I recommend calling the museum to see if their café is open.
The only thing to add would be to keep the café open during weekend hours. It is a not for profit organization so they would benefit from that. A great place for adults and kids that have never been exposed to fossils and how they form. The ticket includes a tour on the beach, I recommend asking for the time because is only one a day, otherwise you have to pay extra. Interesting to take the tour because if you are not familiar you would miss many things at the beach.
Definitely recommend stopping by Jogging if you are in Halifax or driving through Nova Scotia from Quebec or New Brunswick. read more
