This is extremely helpful if you are traveling because it cuts down on what you have to bring, but it is also helpful if this is your first time kayaking. The boots that they provide are great and I highly recommend them. While you do not have to step into the water a lot, they will keep you feet warm if they get wet. They also have some jackets and gloves depending on what time of year you go out. The kayaks and paddles were all in good repair, and I saw all the safety equipment I would expect to see with a trip of this nature. Our guide Liam was very kind and funny. He added to the quality of the trip because of his knowledge of the geology and local tribal lore about the Bay of Fundy. Liam also provided good instruction about kayaking and made sure that the group was safe and successful. Now the location is what makes this trip amazing. We went on the high tide paddle which I would highly recommend. When we paddled out, you were able to paddle amongst the rocks of the three sisters, go into natural coves and amphitheaters and even two sea caves. It was great fun to be able to paddle through the arch at high tide as well. At the "midway" you make it to a beach where you are able to get out and we enjoyed a bowl of chili and some great snacks. While you are on the beach the tides turn and start flowing out so as you head back you see the speed at which the tides flow out of the Bay of Fundy. Areas that you previously kayaked through are now unaccessible because of the change of water height, so you see it through a whole new lens. The tidal change actually gives you a push back to where you put in, so the paddling is even easier on the way back in. The scenery here is unbelievable and we saw a bald eagle soaring overhead on our trip. Nova Shores puts together a great adventure.and I would return to take one of their longer trips as well. I was in great company all day, I was…read morewell-equipped with everything we could need for the day, I felt at-ease and confident in the safety protocols we followed all day, and I had some of the best homecooked food of my life out on a remote rocky beach shore only accessible by boat. I learned so much about the mythology, geology, and ecology of this foggy corner of the earth, but I was most impressed by the good-natured warmth of character that emanates from every single person that works for this kayak tour company. They stoke contagious good humour and an inspired curiosity about the earth and all its creatures.

Given the stairs, I would suggest the shuttle. There are two lookout points above to see the rocks instead, one by the stairs and one that veers off before the path down to the stairs. I knew only that the nearby town Alma is known for its extreme tides. As mosquitos descended upon us, I fully expected to have a crappy time. This was not the case! Fundy is AWESOME. Between the incredible staff, the non-stop educational programs for all ages (we indulged in a fun sing-a-long campfire where hot chocolate was served, a moonlit guided kayak tour, numerous hikes and beach walks, etc) and the well-maintained trails, this is one of the most incredible parks I've ever visited. It has outshined every park I've been to in the US. It's tucked away in true wilderness, the kind of which I've never seen before, not even in Alaska. Miles and miles of open space. It was very green, and the air smelled sweet. And every sign was bilingual, which is exciting for a francophile like me! But it got even more exciting for me: In the national park gift shop, they had two books I illustrated!! I could not believe having traveled all that way and then seeing my own work in the gift shop, that was the coolest!! I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Fundy's lush waterfalls, excitable bats, cartoonish bullfrogs, abundant wildflowers, fresh air, approachable and friendly interpreters, educational programs, wonderful trails, views and serenity. I'm glad we made the trip! Thank you to all the interpreters of Fundy, especially Pat, for making our trip extraordinary!

He demonstrated a depth and breadth of knowlege of matters important, trivial, tragic and funny and kept our attention through the two day travels. He went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and enrichment. We saw picturesque areas, I was not wild about Anne of Green Gables, but was surprised at how fascinating the museum and house visit were. He recommended excellent places to eat and we had only pleasant surprises and no disappointments, except that the day we flew home gave warmth and glorious sunshine to everyone on the island, obviously a circumstance beyond his control. Would I return? Absloutely! Would I recomend his tours? ...in a heartbeat.

He tried to foil me with his Anne of Green Gables trivia but I prevailed! He took us to the "Lake of Shining Waters" and to "Green Gables" and on a trip around the island and to see the new bridge. We also got to stand on the quintessential red cliffs of the island. If you are in the area you have to use them for your tour. If I am ever back on PEI (which I sure home happens) I will be sure to take a tour from them!

It looks like this place still needs a little bit of refining but it has some pretty good potential in the next few years. The wine is decent. Their red really is good but their rosé is a little bit more fruity than we like and much darker than expected. Not a huge selection here but a really nice location overlooking the vineyard. I'd personally skip the food as it seems like it's being too fancy for what it is. We got the cheese board and it definitely is trying to be a little more fancy than it is. It comes with 3 cheeses and there are only 3 options so if you don't like blue cheese, let them know when you order so they can give you more of one of the other two. The thing we found odd was the tacky Breton crackers. It would have been nice to have some kind of artisan crackers instead and perhaps some sort of a jam, jelly or spread. We found it to be a little tacky for $16. The service was a little bit in the middle and we waited around a while to even get a menu. Once the server recognized we weren't helped yet, she apologized and picked up from there which made us not want to get up and leave like originally planned. Overall, I think this place is worth a shot but perhaps don't expect to be wowed and maybe grab a meal before you show up. I can see this being a great place to do a flight just to try what they've got or just have a glass of wine on the patio that's being extended (they were working on it while we were there).
