John and his team were great! Our project was a medium sized Landscape project. I had done 90% of the design and John's team executed. John and his team would make suggestions along the way and they were welcomed! The project took 5 weeks of 5-6 guys working 5 days a week, 8 hours a day! I used a Time Lapse camera to record the whole project. You can watch 8 hours of work in less then 4 minutes. We wanted a dry creek bed too, but what John did was amazing! We let go of what we thought the dry creek could be and let John run free! It is now the center piece of the project. We couldn't be happier with our recent landscape project completed by John and his team. Our front and back yards are amazing and a dream come true! The front was a disaster and the back yard was in need of a rehab and a revised design. This is the second project John completed for us. It was 16 years ago that we had John and his team put in new concrete patios, artificial turf, and repair our grading and drainage in our back yard. We talked with several landscape contractors for our newest project. As we were comfortable working with John before, we were hoping he would be available for a bid and could schedule us in. We couldn't have made a better choice. From first day onsite to completion his crew was reliable, attentive and hard working. Some of the guys we remembered from 16 years ago. It says a lot when your contractor has such a loyal crew! They arrived promptly each day and they assured the area was cleaned up and secure before leaving considering our three dogs, who couldn't wait to come out to see what was going on in their yard. Our project included a huge redesign which John worked closely to make sure the features we wanted were incorporated and also made suggestions along the way for plants, products, site possibilities and aesthetics. All while keeping budget in mind. We now have new back and front yard turf, new fencing, walkways, fireplace, amazing water feature, outdoor kitchen relocated with new pergola, lighting, and an entirely new slope featuring keystone walls, trees with basins, steps, lighting and irrigation. Our 10 week job was completed mid-December 2021, and we still have neighbors who watched the whole process taking place coming up and commenting on the fantastic job and how beautiful it turned out. The crew was on-site daily starting at 7:30a till around 3:30-4p, and were always hard at work on one part of the project or another. John was always available via phone, text, or email to answer any questions, concerns, or changes we wanted to make. End Product: The whole project, even for as large as it was, took about six weeks total. Actual work time was probably slightly less than this due to several intersecting holidays, but we were very impressed at how efficient the crew was at completing the project on time. We don't even recognize our former yard, and the new look is absolutely stunning. Everyone we've shown loves the yard, and we've already recommended John and his team to several people. I live at a new home in Vista and John Douglas drew the plans and submitted them for HOA approval in a timely fashion . He and his team of really hard workers did the most beautiful landscape job from start to finish . I asked for a desert scape with DG walkways and a large RV pad and I have the best landscape in the neighborhood with a beautiful stream made from rocks and boulders we got from the grounds around the development . I could not of asked for a better landscape job ...........He did the front and backyard with all the drains and irrigation and he has come back to check on things without me asking him to . Contacted John Douglas Landscape after finding water seepage under our flooring. Our neighbors had hired him after having the same problem and they highly recommended him. After the initial phone call, he quickly came out to assess the origin of the water damage. John spent quite a bit of time with us: discussing our options and coming up with a comprehensive plan to remedy the situation. His honesty and straight forward demeanor, plus his proven track record with our neighbors made us feel very confident in contracting with him. His men came out the very next week and worked tirelessly to install new french drains and created a slope/pitch to draw excess ground water to the street. John needs a yelp review as it is where I usually come for reviews and I hadn't seen one yet. John is just what we were looking for in a landscaper for our back yard project. We talked to several companies and got a few quotes via yelp, but weren't finding the service we were hoping for. We found John through some friends who used him, and not only was his estimate very fair, he was always quick to get back to us on our questions, was enthusiastic about working with us, and went the extra distance throughout the whole process. The customer service blew us away. We asked if it was possible to complete the project before the 4th of July, No problem, sent the guys out the very next day to start early. Wasn't sure if we liked one of the trees after the job was complete, no problem, was replaced the next day. His workers were so fast and efficient, and John came out on occasion to oversee everything. It is always a little stressful to drop a large amount of money on something you don't get to see until the end and have to trust the person doing the work, but we couldn't be happier with the outcome, we are outside every day now all summer. read more
