This office is wonderful; from their front-desk staff being friendly and knowledgeable to the Doctors themselves being amazing dentists. When I schedule with them, they're ALWAYS accurate and 100% sure ... I have to juggle appointments for three kids (plus myself) and I get super frustrated when an office is constantly canceling or rescheduling appointments on me. This NOT an issue with Vacendak Dentistry... if they schedule us, that is when we will see them! As an extra bonus - they always run on time!! Love it. When it comes to payment, they're ALWAYS up front with us about what the cost is before they do any work (barring anything unexpected, of course), providing a written estimate before they even go back. We have Tricare and our Dental recently changed VERY MUCH for the worse... they have been wonderful about maximizing our coverage and making sure we understand the costs of appointments and procedures before starting. I see Dr Dan, and he diagnosed my TMJ, suggesting we try a mouth guard as a potentially simple and less expensive solution before I spend a ton on orthodontics. The custom mouth guard (which was affordable for us) has helped a lot, relieving my jaw pain from clenching at night and I wear it during the day while working to prevent my jaw from locking. We are grateful to have finally found a wonderful dental office here in Hampton Roads that is so close to our home and cares so very much for each of their patients.

I cannot say enough good things, especially about the pediatric department and Dr. Spruill! Late yesterday afternoon, we called to get our daughter seen following a playground mishap. They graciously agreed to fit us in at the end of their day. Dr. Spruill evaluated our daughter and was glad we brought her in immediately. Though we had initially been told any procedure may have to wait, he stayed well beyond closing to make sure she received the surgery she needed. He and the assistant made sure she was comfortable throughout and called back today to check on how she was feeling. They communicated easily with my husband and I, ensuring we understood what was being done as well as follow-up precautions needing to be taken. We absolutely love this practice and I have frequently recommended them to friends and family! It is clear that they truly care about their patients.

I…read morecalled over the weekend to leave a voice mail to make a new patient appointment (they had a new patient special for $99), and they promptly called me back Monday morning. I made an appointment about 1.5 months out but was offered to be on a waiting list for any earlier appointments. I received a call this morning and was able to come in at 2:00PM. They have a very smooth online health document system so I was able to submit all forms prior to coming to the office. I was actually going to be 10 minutes late due to the rain, called in to notify them and they were very understanding. The office is in a plaza with ample parking, and the inside of the office is very clean and bright. They had coffee in the waiting room as well. I was called back shortly after checking in and had a great hygienist named Katana (hope I spelled her name right!). She was very friendly, explained every step of the way, and I had a great experience with her during the cleaning as someone with gum sensitivity. Dr. Moreno shortly came in after and went over my x-rays and thoroughly examined my teeth and oral health. She was very kind and made space for me to voice any concern or to ask questions. Overall a very great dental office that I would recommend to family and friends.

During my last cleaning, the staff specifically offered me a fluoride treatment and assured me it was fully covered by my insurance. Relying on that information, I agreed to the procedure. About a month later, I received a bill claiming the fluoride treatment was not covered and that I owed the full amount. When I contacted my insurance company directly, they confirmed the treatment was fully covered with no balance due. It took multiple phone calls and persistent follow-ups with the dental office to get them to correct the fraudulent charge. The office had clearly misrepresented the insurance coverage at the time of service in an apparent attempt to overbill me. This experience revealed serious issues with their honesty and billing practices. As a result, I immediately cancelled my next appointment and will never return to this practice. I strongly advise others to be extremely cautious. Always verify insurance coverage independently and double-check everything with your insurance provider before agreeing to any additional treatments here.

I am going through alot in my personal life & this visit had me more anxious than when I found out my complete 3rd degree heartblock, my incarcerated hernia or even my right lung PE. I was so nervous that it made me physically ill. I am not a worrier, except for today. I asked Dr Gray how he was feeling and told him that I said a prayer for him and his crew. Initially I had alot of pain but I am 11 hours post op and the bleeding has stopped and I have very little pain. His staff really make you feel as if they are a member of your family.
