If they are lucky they find themselves in Dr. Potluri's chair a short time later. I'm extraordinarily lucky. My regular dentist is directly across the street from Dr. Potluri, so when they realized that my pain was Beyond their comfort level they sent me to him. I was helped with the paperwork and given a treatment plan and then whisked into an exam room. My tooth was able to be saved, but needed a full week of antibiotics and soft foods before it could actually be worked on in a permanent way. The second visit was even faster, and my pain was relieved almost immediately. A few things to note- The doctor and his staff listened to me and understood my request for a bite block. (A rubber wedge that is placed between the teeth to stop a patient from closing their mouth. I find them incredibly useful when in a dentist's chair.) They also paid close attention to my pain and administered an appropriate amount of Novocain the very first time, so I did not have to request more. I can't tell you how much I appreciated the calm clean office space. I adore my regular dentist even more now since she knew just where to send me to be able to resolve my toothache.

Because I love chewy candy and don't always brush and floss as often as I should. But back to #1... I had my first root canal almost 20 years ago. Dr. Slade was very patient and polite, and even though I was a kid, she spoke to me and treated me like any other patient (instead of that annoying, cutesy thing that people do with their voices when they are talking to kids). She explained everything to me and made sure that I was comfortable throughout the entire procedure. I had my last root canal a few years ago and Dr. Slade was the same as always. Both she and her receptionist are as kind and sweet and professional as can be. They take time to answer questions or address concerns and they make an effort to make things as easy as possible. NEW CUSTOMERS BEWARE - This review is mainly for the receptionist/customer intake staff. The…read morereceptionist(s)/this office only cares about acquiring new patients and do not do the due diligence to inform patients about accepting their insurance. I went there multiple times and not once did they share with me that I was actually out of network, I had to find out by contacting my insurance company to check on the specific claim. I went in a total of two times, first was a regular cleaning, second time was a follow up/filling. They DID NOT once mention to me that they are actually out of network for my coverage. They had at least 3 opportunities to tell me that they are not in network for my insurance plan. 1) The first visit upon going into the office I gave the receptionist my insurance card and they input all my info and should have seen the in/out network info; 2) when I was paying for my cleaning and scheduling my second appt for filling they could have warned me about charges due to them being out of network for me; 3) my second visit before I went in for dental work or afterwards when I had to pay, I specifically asked why the cost was so high (close to $200) for two basic fillings and they said they had to check with insurance, but they should have seen their out of network status was the reason for the cost. They even continue to schedule my next appt for me in 6 months. For people who several hundred dollars makes a huge difference in their budget, this would be a devastating experience, so please beware if you're new or existing customer that's been wondering why you've been getting high dental bills!

After all my "interviewing" dentists, I would have "hired" him. I called to schedule the procedure but there wasn't anything available for weeks. AND im giving u a 40% discount" Praise the LORD!!! She fixed it same day and its in even better condition than the previous dentist who filled it.
