I called Joh Davis Florist at the last minute to order flowers for my daughter's graduation party. They were helpful and accommodating. I really did not expect much when I ordered 5 small flower arrangements. The flowers were delivered on time the following day, and they were the most beautiful arrangements that I have ever seen! This is such an adorable little flower shop. We were quickly greeted by Rocky the cutest dog ever and then the lady at the front desk was super helpful and taught us about some flowers I had never seen before. The arrangement was artistic and exquisite. The quality of the flowers was poor. There were several with (very thin) brown edges when they were picked up from the shop. (My husband picked them up at the shop and I was standing outside.) Something that looked like delphinium had a broken stem. The very next day all 3 of the roses had the heads drooping from the stems. The hydrangea was completely wrinkled. (As an avid gardener I know it's necessary to actually crush the stems of hydrangea to get them to absorb water. The flowers will hold their shape until they are dry.) After 4 days, even the bird of paradise was wilted. After less than a week (6 days) I am left with a stem of white orchid and some lilies that have not yet opened. Again, the artistry is beautiful. This florist is either using a bad supplier or does not know proper handling of flowers. I wish my husband had picked up a bunch from Kroger. While not as dramatic, at least I can enjoy them for more than a day. read more

This place is wonderful, I doubt my review will give it enough credit. I came in yesterday and the owner (I believe) greeted my friends and I. She was extremely personable and welcoming in all aspects of the encounter. We met the shop dog, Rocky, who made my entire day I'm sure. He was beyond friendly and just wanted to love everyone but wasn't hyper in the least! He was very calm and easy going. If you wanted to pet him he was good for it and if you wanted to ignore him that was ok with him too. The flower selection was sparse but she did say they get shipments on Monday. She was more than happy to give us a tour of the entire building included the back where the employees work. Next time I need an arrangement I will 100% be supporting this local business in Savannah. read more

John Davis Florist created the centerpieces for a recent very large event that we hosted at the Hyatt on Bay Street in Savannah. His team was not only professional and courteous, but their follow up actually saved the day!! we ordered many flower arrangements for my mothers funeral from here. we had one special request that the casket blanket be all white flowers. How hard can that be ? Well we didn't get all white flowers. The whole arrangement may have had 4-5 white flowers. We paid $400 for it. When my family members and I tried to contact the owner to work on resolving their mistake, John accused us of not complaining to him about it soon enough. The flowers were delivered on Weds evening. My family arrives at the funeral home that evening but were too distraught to notice. I am from out of town and didn't get there until Thursday evening They were closed by then. We call in the mistake on Friday and a staff member comes out to add a few more white flowers to the blanket. But we still did not get our "ALL WHITE" blanket that we paid $400 for. He admits the flowers were done wrong but refuses to give any sort of refund/discount claiming we should have called him sooner. He screws up and its our fault ? read more
