All of the fillings were left unpolished, resulting in one falling out when I'd flossed, despite my numerous attempts to ask them to polish the fillings. Every single appointment I was told, "next time" they would. There was no next time and I had to get my work corrected by another dentist. Additionally, they had sent debt collection to recover the insurance portion without ever attempting to reach me. Per their agreement with my insurance, I was never responsible for their inability to file a claim within the year grace that they had to do so due to their own clerical error that they'd never attempted even once to resolve. The claim was only submitted and denied once. Unless you want a surprise bill (or in my case, a surprise debt collector), or inadequate care, I deeply suggest avoiding Aspen Dental. I have seen much better prices *and* care with private dentists and other practices.

I went in regularly, and the same hygienist scrubs my mouth, then the same dentist peers in, making sure he agrees that everything is right before I make my next appointment and leave. My wife took my daughter and son to Dr. Shearer, so I'm the only one who hadn't been there. She talks so positively about her experience, and said nobody tries to sell them MLM toothpaste or gadgets with their hands in her mouth. What's this? Sounds like I need to give it a try. Dr. Shearer's hygienists are both very friendly and skilled, and NEITHER OF THEM HURT YOU. I thought agonizing pain was just part of the process, but it's not; my whole life my hygienist had been doing it wrong. Dr. Shearer is also very kind and professional. If you need a procedure like fillings, etc., they discuss their charges with respect to payments made by your insurance company on the front end, and give you options. That's also something I'd never been used to. Usually before it'd been a surprise after the fact. He's my new dentist. After 40 years. I've got another appointment next week and I don't dread it, which is still kind-of new for me.

You'd go in for a ROOT CANAL and come out a week later, badly bruised and whimpering. I made it through almost 40 years without major dental problems, and then the last 5 or so it seems like I've been in the chair every other month. Dr. Wright performed my third RC today, and I couldn't be happier. I opted for the nitrous oxide, not because I have a particular fear of dentistry or the pain of the needle. I never had that option in the Air Force and think it's an awesome addition. Sure you feel the sting of the needle and the burning as the anesthetic spreads. You. Just. Don't. Care. The procedure was painless, and I was out of the chair less than an hour after I walked in the door. I guess in the past it used to be much worse, but nowadays there's no need to fear this procedure. You know what's worse than a root canal? The excruciating pain my cracked tooth was causing me before Dr. Wright fixed me up. Come here, you'll leave numb but happy!
