If you are looking for a good lawyer in this vicinity then I would highly recommend John Reade. I want go into all the details of my case, but I will divulge enough facts to justify my statement. I must have interviewed about seven or eight criminal lawyers in Grants Pass and at least three or four in Medford that were recommended to me. He was the only one I saw who was interested in taking my case, and this despite the fact he was the second or third one I contacted and I told him I wanted to approach a few more lawyers before I made my decision. My gut feeling was that everyone else passed me up because my situation didn't look promising and the other lawyers were not that interested in racking up a possible loss. (Could be I'm wrong, but I trust my gut more often than not.) Here are the facts of the case I am willing to divulge: 1. There were two "felony" counts against me. 2. The minimum sentence for each count was 75 months. (6 yrs. 3 mos. If they ran at the same time, 12 1/2 years if they ran back to back.) 3. I know I was being "over-charged" but, I also know they were serious about it. The final results were: 1. The two counts were dropped down to misdemeanors. 2. I was sentenced to 30 days in jail/or work service. 3. I was also given two years on probation, and instructed not to have anything to do with the defendant in the case during that time. 4. My only other restrictions were to inform the authorities if I had a job change, a change of address, or if I intended to leave the state for any extended length of time.
