During COVID in 2022 they put me in an induced coma on a Ventilator without alerting myself or my wife. I had a stroke & got pneumonia during the 2 weeks I was on the Ventilator. When I came out of the coma I was treated abysmally by the nurses. My wife, when she managed to get in found my bed angled head down to the floor. I wasn't fed food, I dreamed of water, they literally tried to euthanize me. I would never had got out of that hell hole were it not for my wife & lawyers. They are a disgrace to all that is Holy. read more

My Dad was admitted into Emergency over a week ago and spent a night in the Urology ward. I only have fantastic things to say about the staff and services. He said the doctor he was admitted into Emergency was amazing and the best thing was that they coordinated all of the specialists to solve his problem including engaging his regular cardiologist. The nurses in the Urology ward, Olivia, Annabelle and Alex were fantastic and nothing was ever a problem for them, and their demeanour was very helpful and friendly. Thank you to you all. read more

Dr Pablo Garcia Bermejo and Dr Naj runs an amazing team of Neuro Interventionalists at the John Hunter Hospital. They have saved my life. I will be forever grateful to them for all the care and concern. They are very thorough and listen and act on everything a patient says. And I was just a public patient, not private one. Not the first hospital in the area of my choice. I know they do have some exceptional people and equipment but I find their care middle of the range, both staff and the hospital itself. Even the Dr's I know have a few choice words for this place. But in saying that.. I know they will take the best care of you that they know how. read more

Standards in this hospital range - according to the treatment and care experienced by myself and two other generations of my family - from Bad, to Devastatingly Dangerous, to Apocalyptic. Short of imminent death I would recommend going to Sydney for medical attention. I would literally prefer to take the train to Sydney with a broken arm/injury/illness than take my chances here again. read more

Bed record keeping. Rude biatches (as they are all female) that refuse to follow NSW Health Guidelines & Policy. Staff who keep saying they have spent too much time on/don't or won't spend anymore time fixing problems they cause. My Community Support Worker was present whilst they bullish*tted their way through poor communication and poor telephone handling technique. I'd rather die than use this hospital. read more
