I moved and had two policies I had paid in advance I requested be cancelled and refunded for the unused time. Both times Angela (his secretary) insisted neither policy existed and despite multiple requests for Tom to call me back he never did. I was billed for six months past when I requested my policy be cancelled. When I received a non renewal letter (due to vacancy) for the policy I requested be cancelled I called and again requested the refund now that we both knew the policy existed. Angela stated I never requested cancellation. Then once my home sold I requested a refund for the unused time on my condo unit owners policy. Angela stated this policy didn't exist either. I calmly requested Tom call me back but Angela hung up while I was giving my phone number. I was able to find Tom's email and sent screenshots of my paid bill and credit card statement proving the policy existed. Cheryl responded to all emails. She acknowledged the policy existed but said I'd have to take up the refund with the owner of the other half of the duplex or the title company. I then brought up how the same thing happened with my other policy for items inside the house. Cheryl stated my lender requires I keep that policy and notes said my husband was to call when my house sold. I paid cash for the house. There was no lender. My husband doesn't own the home and he was never in contact with them regarding this policy. I didn't need his permission to cancel my policy, but if I did and they had communicated that he would have given it. Throughout this process when I called I was told Tom was out of office. I requested a call back but never got one. I requested he call me via emails multiple times but never received a call. Additionally around three years ago my husband had a car accident. I had multiple questions his secretary didn't know the answers to. I requested Tom give me a call to discuss my questions but was told he was on vacation and then attending a conference so would be unreachable for around two or three weeks.

I asked back in January or February…read more For recommendations on international travel. If people recommended AAA or a private travel agency. I got mixed reviews. Well I ended up going with AAA. Big mistake. I ended up with a travel agent who really dropped the ball. I used AAA in Boardman. In the beginning, our agent messed up our itinerary. She wouldn't return my calls. I had to find out who the branch manager was and contact him before she would return my calls. She called me the other day to pick up my travel documents, and I found out that my husband was not assigned a seat for nine hour flight from Italy. I paid thousands of dollars to upgrade our seats and obviously we were supposed to sit together, due to his mobility issues. We ended up with seats in different sections. The last two days I have been on the phone with American Airlines and the travel agent. This error is still not fixed, and now the travel agent will not return my calls. I am not saying, all of the travel agents at AAA in Boardman are bad, but I must've got the worst of worst of the worst.

To myself, I said, I never thought I'd need to put AAA on speed dial. I'm thinking voice dial, just in case I can't use my hands. After 4 (yes -- four, cuatro, quatre) calls to AAA in the last 3 months, I'm feeling qualified to review AAA. First, let me say this, AAA has gotten way more of my money than I've gotten AAA service. But like insurance, there's value in peace of mind. My latest call came tonight and ended with an actual rescue. The guy who came out was excellent, did his work quickly and had all the necessary equipment to do the job right. My spare was a little low, nothing worth worrying about, but he was sure to give it the extra air to take it to the right pressure. The call before, was in Dubuque, IA, when my rental was stuck on a patch of ice on a hill. The guy behind me returned before the AAA driver showed. I was able to back up and pull out. As I parked in a safer spot on a flat side street, I saw the AAA driver go by. They would have done the job. I'll spare you the other call details, but leave it to you to decide how you'd handle these problems. I've chosen to keep my AAA current over the many years. Safe travels, my Yelp friends. And, if you are ever in the area and need help on the road, message me, it goes to my phone :)
