The reviewer below must have Dr. Bacon and his office confused for another and that review should be removed. I don't believe a word of it. For some reference... I have "soft teeth" which have gifted me with an entire mouthful of fillings, several crowns, porcelain veneers on my front teeth, and have had 3 root canals and 2 oral surgeries - and I'm only 26. AKA I have an excessive amount of experience with dental offices. I recently moved here from CA and was recommended to Dr. Bacon from Dr. Tagle's office for an emergency fix on a filling that was about to break off. I've never had a better first-time experience in a dentist's office - the front desk girls, dental hygienist, and Dr. Bacon were all professional, kind, knowledgable, and completely transparent with me. I was the very last appointment of the day today and they were running just a few minutes behind schedule - they gifted me with a Starbucks gift card on my way out just to apologize for the (slight!) delay. (And honestly, what doctor's office isn't running 5 or so minutes late by the end of the day?) Dr. Bacon and the hygienist paid special attention to my very (very, very) sensitive teeth, quickly assessed my situation, presented me with my options and helped me make the best decision (even after listening to my indecisiveness and apprehension about having a new dentist work on my teeth). He fixed up my tooth quickly and painlessly, which is not easy to do with me. And as expected, no damage whatsoever to any previous dental work or my veneers! I am absolutely confident in this Dr. Bacon and his entire office and have no qualms about making him my new permanent dentist. And a side note, it was also nice being able to fill out and submit my new patient paperwork and insurance card online ahead of time. Highly recommend! read more

I recently moved back after living overseas for 3 and a half years. I grew up going to Dr. Bacon and he was always great. I have an irrational fear of the dentist and he was always very accommodating and gentle. After not seeing a dentist in my time abroad I was reluctant to say the least to for my cleaning. Angel was so sweet and friendly and made me feel very comfortable. she also explained what she was seeing in my x-rays so I left feeling more informed. I ended up having a few small cavities and I needed fillings. Karen at the front desk set me up with an appointment before I left so I wouldn't avoid my follow up appointment. I had Dr. Erickson fill my cavities and I have to say that it was one of the best dental experiences I have had. I had waited too long to have the dental attention I needed. I visited my PCP with pain in my mouth/sinuses and she recommend Dr. Bacon. I was worried about getting scolded and criticized for not taking care of my teeth. The opposite happened. Dr. Bacon and his staff were understanding and supportive, personable and friendly. When Dr. Bacon referred be to an oral surgeon and endodontist they made the calls to set my appointments for me before I left the office. Dr. Bacon was gentle and concerned about my comfort and answered all my questions. He spent extra time to make sure my temporary cap was aesthetically right as well as functional. He fixed a chipped front tooth and it looks perfect! He has a great char-side manner with humor and kindness. The referrals he gave me for an oral surgeon and endodontist were stellar. I have been going to Dr. Bacon for 4 years, and am extremely satisfied with the work both he and his assistants have provided. I'm an older woman and I needed a fair amount of work done on my teeth. Dr.Bacon showed me what was good about my teeth and what needed fixing. He set up a long term plan, letting me know what needed to be done soon and what could wait. Dr. Bacon explained things clearly and showed me pictures to clarify further. Dr. Bacon's work is impeccable. He pays special attention to make sure that my bite is perfect after each procedure. I particularly appreciate this because he is the first dentist I've gone to who has put so much effort into a smooth bite. I've had general cleanings, fillings, crowns, and teeth whitening done by Dr. Bacon and his staff. All of my treatments have been excellent. His staff is efficient and very friendly. I have been to Dr. Eric Peters on a few occasions now, and I plan to be his patient for life! When I walked into Dr. Bacon and Dr. Peters office, it was an incredibly inviting environment, and the women at the desk were very warm and welcoming. Their office downtown was beautiful and newly remodeled. I didn't have to wait long at all to be seen. The dental assistant Erica, had a wonderful chair side manner, and made me feel very comfortable. When Dr. Peters treated me, he was incredibly friendly and was always making sure I was comfortable and in no pain. He was also very honest with what needed to be done, so I could spend the minimal amount of money. In the past, I had a dentist who has me do dental work that didn't need to be done, but I could tell that Dr. Peters is an ethical man who I trust. I left the office very grateful and will be telling all my friends to go to Dr. Peters. read more

I can not say enough good things about Dr. Bacon and his staff. Every person in the office made me feel well taken care of and important. I was in the office the day after my initial phone call, dealing with teeth issues that have plagued me for nearly a lifetime. The quality of work is unparalleled and the people who make it happen set this office far above any others. I do not have insurance and so the reason the is office is getting 4 stars instead of 5 is that I was quoted one price and by the end of my work had to pay more. It is understandable and I trust that the work was done right, it just threw me off a bit. Despite this one negative, I am thankful I have more dental work to be done at Dr. Bacon's office. My college student was travelling through the southwestern U.S. with the University of Georgia when she had a dental emergency. Based on an internet search, the advertisement of emergency appointments, and early office hours, I called Downtown Dental in Flagstaff as they were the next town on their trip. They were extremely courteous and accomodating and were able to schedule an emergency visit on the same day. After x-rays and an exam, Dr. Bacon was able to diagnose and address the problem so that she could continue traveling on with the group. As a worried, Atlanta-based mom, I am very appreciative of the care and concern they showed for my daughter who is not a regular patient of this practice. I have lived in Flagstaff for over a decade and have used a couple of other dentists. I don't know why it took so long to get over to Dr. Bacon! He is by far the best dentist I have used. His staff is always upbeat and cheerful. It is truly a family atmosphere from the time I am greeted by the receptionist until I am finished and checking out. Dr. Bacon is very thorough in explaining options and their costs. He will even take the time to explain the pros and cons of the various options. I had to have composits installed, a filling replaced and recently had veneers placed on two front teeth. I have also utilized bleaching for that whiter smile! I have been a patient of Bacon's colleague, Jeff Coleman, twice now. I have pretty severe dental anxiety, and if you do too, he is the dentist to try. After seeing how much I shake involuntarily and fear suffocation with lots of stuff in my mouth, he suggested nitrous oxide. I could have had a sedative, but want to drive myself home, and you can totally do that with nitrous; after relaxing you, once they clear it from your system with oxygen, you are totally clear and ready to go. He is patient, always asking if I need a break, and his work has been flawless. I appreciate his patience, as other dentists have gotten frustrated with me. I'm here to stay, and, especially if you have dental anxiety, you should be too. They take delta dental, by the way. Yay!!! read more

Dr. Bacon has been my dentist for more than 20 years. During this time, he has repaired sloppy work from my previous dentist, filled cavities and given me crowns. He has always done outstanding work and he and his staff of hygienists are patient and gentle. Today was the first emergency I have had after chipping a tooth on a tortilla chip. I was squeezed into his schedule and greeted by his new associate, named Dr. Jeff Coleman, who has just moved to Flagstaff 3 days ago. Dr. Jeff did a great job of filing and polishing my chip so that it did not bother my tongue anymore. He spent about 20 minutes getting to know me and did not even charge me for his service! When I moved to Flagstaff, I really needed to find a good dentist. After my first visit to the office (there are two doctors here apparently), I met Dr. Lerud and the staff and I was really impressed! I've been to see him a couple of times now (Yikes! Cavities!), and I feel so comfortable and welcome in their office. Dr. Lerud was really gentle with my teeth and made sure I was okay while he worked on them. By far my best dental experience and I would highly recommend going to see them! I think another important thing for me is that they are up front with their costs. I was a first time customer as Dr. Bacon office. Everything went so smoothly and fantastic. I'm really impressed with John bacon and how he handles his customers. His work is so clean and on point. His knowledge on everything with teeth or mouth is so sharp! He is amazing! I love his work! Dr. John Bacon has been my Dentist since 1995. I had an extensive dental history prior to seeing him and have always trusted his recommendations and expert treatment. When my wife saw the results of my front crown replacements a few years ago, I thought she was going to cry. I am forever grateful for that. He seems to enjoy working with his friendly staff and that is important. I never dread an appointment, knowing I will get the best of care. The historic building that they have moved to is excellent.
