Please do not use or recommend john Lepore to anyone! He doesn't show up when you make appointments with him or return your phone calls or respond to your text messages. We made a horrible mistake and recommended him to a friend because he was reliable in the past and now we're regretful and quite embarrassed that we did. Horrible Experience. After moving to Long Island, my wife and I sought a tax professional to file our tax returns. Although John had some questionable reviews, I gave him the benefit of the doubt, and we filed our 2022 returns in March of 2023. Then, in the third quarter of 2023, we received a bill from the Department of Taxation stating that our NY State taxes were not filed. We attempted to contact John by phone, text, and email several times to address this matter. Our communication with John could have been better and more professional. Responses mainly included "I'll look into it" or "I'll get back to you". Finally, six months later, we resolved the matter. John opened an inquiry stating that we did fill in time, and the state dismissed part of the penalty. I still had to pay a small fee. I recommend steering clear of this tax consultant. read more

John is a true Godsend! He has a nice calm way about him and makes you feel very comfortable in his office. He will listen to your questions and answer them professionally. Think twice about using this accountant. I thought he was decent when I initially used him two years ago. However, I needed my tax returns amended for 2021. He responded to my text and agreed to amend them. That was over a month ago. He has been telling me that he will have them ready by the end of each week. John did my taxes the first 2 years. Then it turns out that the first year's tax return had to be amended. John claims the amendment has been filed and to check with him in a couple of weeks. Months passed by, I left voicemails, texts and sent emails but got no response.
