Their shoes remain, mystifyingly, some of the kinkiest in the Mall bar Kurt Geiger so even if thought of shopping in M&S makes you think of your grandmother's twin set and pearls then brave it and check out the shoes. Staff are always helpful in here, especially good as its such a big store, and will help you find things or fetch you different sizes of clothes whilst you stay in the changing room.

This underlines the real reason we wouldn't return to M&S Deli: the food is reasonably tasty and reasonably priced, and the wine is good because it's straight off the M&S shelves, but the service is terrible! We were there for an hour, which was way longer than we expected. This was because of poor all-round service. While we were there, we heard at least three other complaints, with one couple actually leaving. I'm sure this isn't the sort of 'experience' M&S wants to encourage. Our waiter wasn't polite, wasn't attentive, was blasé and had dirty fingernails (yet still handled the raw Parmesan cheese). Get the staff sorted and the rest will follow.

With all the big stores you would expect all under one roof it is popular for people wanting to find everything in one spot. But frankley it's just all a bit too much for me, I can't cope with the sheer volume of people they get here and would much prefer to a spend my money else where. Cribbs Causeway has a John Lewis at one end and a Marks and Sparks at the other, and they pretty much set the tone for the place. Everything's just a shade cleaner, nicer and pricier than it would be in town. Your less likely to find good bargains here and more likely end up wondering into H and M or Timberland and spending thirty quid that you hadn't intended to spend. Although there is a pretty good bus connection this is very much a driving sort of a place. It feels very American having to jump in your car to get anywhere. It's all very neat and tidy, and feels quite soulless because of it - there isn't any character to the place which really bugs me. I don't suppose that matters too much if your just here for the shopping. There's a multiplex cinema and a food court so you can make a day of it when you come here. Not too sure why you would stay any longer than you had too, though.

All at warehouse discount, bargain basement, super-duper low prices. The Xmas decoration section itself is breath-taking - you could decorate an entire village with what they have here - tinsel, baubels, trees and lights a go-go. Two thirds of the floor space is given over to ladies and gentlemans shoes. There are usually displays laid out either side of the entrance door, and then each side wall is full of shoes on display and there are usually central stands with shoes that are reduced in the sale for example. There are about half a dozen seats for you to try shoes on so I have never found this to be a problem and the staff are both friendly and attentive. They do some fabulous shoes, traditional sensible shoes and some extremely fancy shoes and sandals for special occasions - you know you're worth it! Also do a good range of handbags - the latest Radleys for example are usually on display. They have a huge range of boots in the winter and always in really great leathers. The other third of the store is taken over by the childrens department, lovely colourful shoes and good staff on hand to measure your childs feet and ensure a good fit. Really recommend this shop.
