Absolutely the worst escrow agent I have ever used. Fidelity's staff and practices are the worst…read more Stacy P. handled our transaction and from all we could surmise, this was her first. At one point in the process she asked the mortgage lender to define "closing." She clearly needs further training on the house buying process. Her missteps caused a lot on undue stress fr everyone involved. The worst part is that Fidelity and Stacy waited until the last minute to spring a title insurance charge of $1,900 for buyer's (not lenders title insurance for which they charged me $532) title insurance. She did not include this in the estimates and never mentioned it until the end when it was too late to drop it - at least according to Stacy. This insurance is totally optional and I did not want it but because we were so late in the process and Stacy said that we would have to go back to the lenders and the sellers, I accepted it to get the deal done. This practice by Fidelity is totally underhanded and is the reason why we have the Consumer Financial Protection Board.

This is completely unhelpful as I too can read. I had to get out the county parcel map plus a regular map and do my own research. I paid good money and received zero useful information 2) Getting the closing costs correct was a multi day affair requiring me to send emails with action items and due dates. I am sure the mortgage broker was part of the problem and yet the escrow officer was equally a problem. I would not recommend the petaluma branch of old republic title

When I actually needed service, the tow was refused because the vehicle was considered commercial/oversized. This is a serious issue because I relied on the information given in person. If AAA cannot tow certain vehicles, staff should clearly explain the limitations instead of giving incorrect assurances. I'm now left dealing with a situation that could have been avoided with accurate information upfront.

I began to feel guilty for taking entire days of Paul, as he patiently explored the area for us, discussing many in's and out's of the real estate situation and timing in Sonoma County. One day after looking for an hour at a not good candidate on the river, and all hope was lost, we started home and encountered a home which was by far the best candidate we had seen. We put an offer in immediately, and Paul helped us through the considerations on what to offer. It turned out to be a phenomenally complicated transaction, and Paul truly earned his stripes on leading us through that one, including helping the seller see the sale as a win-win situation. That was the easy part as it turned out. We are two established professionals in San Francisco, our loan broker was a friend of ours, but the loaning institution had more stickers than a porcupine. Joanne was very instrumental in helping us obtain the loan, which required up to the second maneuvering to pull off. I don't know how she managed to be the intermediary with the title company, the loan broker, our friend the loan broker, the selling party, and our vacation plans...we had to go to the title company she located for us in Placerville to do faxing and signing on the last day possible. We are enjoying making our new place a home for ourselves, , and I give thanks to Paul and Joanne every time we drive by their office in Petaluma. I could hot give a higher recommendation to you for an agent. I have done about 5 real estate "deals" over the years, and they were the best agent I enountered.
