If you don't mind sitting in waiting room, well past your appointment, then you might give this office a higher rating.

I get a phone call from Cathy one day prior to my appointment asking if I could move my appointment time up one hour and to call them back if there was any way I could do that. I made my appointment almost 7 weeks in advance for 2pm, and could not move it so I did not call back and arrived early for my 2pm appointment to complete new patient forms. At first they said "your appointment was for 1pm" and acted like I showed up late. I said my appointment was for 2pm and showed the staff my text message confirmations that clearly showed 2pm. They informed me they would not be able to do my cleaning and could only do x-rays. I told them I only wanted to do the cleaning and they said I could not get a cleaning without x-rays and they could not do everything. I left and will not return. I think it is a TERRIBLE business practice to refuse to honor the appointment I made 7 weeks in advance. The staff was apathetic and treated me like I had done something wrong. Of course, I was upset about my experience, but I was not rude and I did not raise my voice. I am glad I learned about this practice before I was a patient. Fortunately, I was able to make an appointment with Aspen Dental 2 days from now. I strongly advise you to avoid Bright Smiles. I do not want the moderator to respond with a suggestion to call the office manager. My feedback has been delivered and I will not return. My suggestion would be to work with your staff and to figure out a way to honor the commitments made, even if it is inconvenient to the staff. There was no attempt to fix the problem. Even though I held up my end of the experience, I was treated poorly because I was dissatisfied with the indifferent communication and broken commitment.

I called and I spoke with the receptionist who confirmed our insurance was in network. She took all my information and even had me text her photos of my insurance card front and back. I was booked. Fast forwards 2 or 3 months to when my appointment was going to be and I get a text asking to confirm which I do. I then get a call the day of my appointment which went to voicemail. The voicemail said I was not confirmed for my appointment and that they needed to discuss payment information. I call right away telling them I had replied to the automated message asking me to confirm so why were they saying I wasn't confirmed? She then tells me that yes I was confirmed BUT that now my insurance was not in network meaning that I had to pay out of pocket for my cleaning and that if I wanted to get a partial refund I would have to submit the request through my insurance which she said will take weeks and again, they would not be refunding the full amount because they are out of network. I was so UPSET. They WASTED MY TIME. The first call confirmed they took my insurance and suddenly they didn't?!! Months of my time went by waiting for my appointment when I could have gone with a different dentist willing to take me as a new patient. Oh and my husband's coworker still goes there (she has the same insurance we do...). I would NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone, they clearly can't get their stuff together.

I recently moved this area from Austin and wanted to find a Dentist that would accept my military…read moredental insurance. I served 30 years in military and for the 20 years I have been retired, I have never had an issue until this office. It's really sad they will not accept the most common dental insurance for military. But I had heard great things from my neighbors about this dentist and I wanted to go somewhere local instead of driving back to Austin. So, for the first time in over 20 years since I retired, I changed my insurance. I bought a top tier (Aetna PPO) insurance which was considerably more than the dental insurance I paid for as a military retiree. But again, I wanted to establish with a local dentist. Long before my appointment, I completed all the paperwork and provided the office with all of my insurance information. Imagine my surprise when at the end of my meeting, the office person said I owed them $500+! Again, since the day I scheduled the appointment, which was several weeks before the appointment, I never heard a word. In fact the person who made the appointment wouldn't provide me with an appointment until she verified my insurance the coverage. I am a licensed healthcare professional and in the 20 years in the private practice I worked in, the people in our office also did this work, verifying insurance and what is covered and not covered. I was in simply for a routine check-up and cleaning. I had no issues and no work other than a cleaning was done. They did take a lot of x-rays which I do understand, but they also did panoramic radiograph. In other dentists office they have requested the panograph so I wouldn't have to go through it. I see in this office they are more about finding ways to bill your insurance as much as possible. I know the panograph wasn't necessary and the last one I had taken down in Austin was only 3 years old. I told them I would not pay the $500 and informed them of my medical license. I was then told I could pay $106 and if the insurance didn't cover, I would have to pay the balance and if I overpaid, they would return the overpayment. I checked with my insurance and it covered everything and I informed their office in March that they owed me for the overpayment. I received an email stating they had not received payment but would send the check as soon as they receive payment from the insurance. It has been three months and I know from my insurance they have in fact been paid but three months later... still no refund for the overpayment. This is essentially fraud. They do NOT support Military members. The dentist I used to see in Austin took my insurance the military provided and NEVER once asked me to pay anything extra. It's a long drive but I would prefer to go back to that practice that treated me with respect and didn't try to overcharge me. I have heard there are other reliable dentists in Marble Falls and Bee Cave but as retired military and a healthcare professional, I do not recommend this practice.
