After being examined, it was determined that MIL needed an endoscopy to determine what's going on since oral medications from her GP weren't working. The office staff scheduled the endoscopy at Crestwood and we took my MIL in. Dr. Rice performed the endoscopy and found that MIL's esophagus had narrowed. He stretched it and she is able to swallow foods again. He was patient and explained everything he would do to her so that she understood. He is great with elders and we highly recommend him!!!

The staff does not care about patients, is overly rude, does not answer the phone, and does not return phone calls. It took almost six months to get an appointment which I had to schedule by going to the office because I was unable to get in touch with the staff by phone or email. All of my interactions with staff members were hostile. I was not told about the paperwork that had to filled out before the appointment and when I showed up for the appointment that I had to wait six months for, they said they could not see me. None of this was communicated to me and they did not care at all when I questioned them about their process and the reason for the policy. I left without being seen and will not be back. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

It was Friday after 5 (of course) and I began having what turned out to be complications from a…read moresurgery that I had a week earlier. The doctor on call at my surgeon's office said that I needed to go to the ER. I avoid the HSV hospital zoo at all costs so I went to Crestwood. I know the staff is jaded. I know they've seen the absolute worst of the worst. They are underpayed, understaffed and just plain tired. But that doesn't take away the responsibility for them to show empathy and respect to all patients. After I was triaged by two nurses who barely looked at me, I sat in the empty waiting room for over an hour before being seen. (The nurse told me that it had been an unusually quiet evening so that wasn't an excuse). I was finally wheeled back to the exam room. On our way down the hall, the nurse said "you should have called your doctor". My husband told her that we did and he sent us here. Then she said "well you should have gone and sat in his office until you were seen". She completely discounted my reason for coming to the ER. The attending NP examined me and said the that the procedure that I needed was too dangerous to do in the ER. He sent me home with medication and told me to see my surgeon Monday morning. (My surgeon could not believe that I was sent home). I ended up having emergency surgery Tuesday morning. By then I had additional complications from having waited so long. I do wonder if that would have happened had the NP put more effort into trying to help me - not just pass me back. Crestwood has been our hospital of choice since we moved here. Since the CEO Pam Hudson left, the hospital has gone downhill. This slide has been gaining momentum and now, what used to be the premiere choice, will finally crash into the big circus in town, HSV hospital. My most recent encounter with Crestwood was not stellar. Sadly, I doubt my next will be any better.

Now that they are expanding I look forward to less crowded ER visits nearer to my home. The Crestwood doctors practices are all North Alabama. Give your body the care it needs with Crestwood.

Unless you get relief from low dose anything, this organization is bound by a low risk HH template that is flawed for those with different body biology. Pain management should actually include Pain Management not "The DEA IS Watching me" and I don't want to put the effort in to getting the patient the proper pain management protocol even when there is plenty of evidence over 30 plus years to support such. ABORT, ABORT, ABORT ... HUNTSVILLE WE HAVE A PROBLEM! A systematic TN Valley Pain problem... With no apparent interest to correct, I would like to add I have 1 daughter that is an RN working Trauma 3 on 3rd shift only, and another that does Robotics in the surgery room (sure there's an official name ) but ya get the point. NEITHER ONE, is understanding what the heck the TVPain is doing... Makes absolutely NO sense! Huntsville WE don't NEED this problem! As much as they will "pretend " to understand/care their is Absolutely nothing they will do to manage pain as their oath req... suspect this is a HsV Hospital "template " the Doctors must follow but that doesn't excuse their Medical responsibilities.... #Huntsville#problems#irresponsible Beyond ashamed...

Wish I could say the same about the office staff, in particular the registration desk. I had an appointment on September 17th and got there 45 minutes ahead of time and signed in. I sat right next to the registration desk, watching the interaction of the three employees working. Sporadically. After seeing four people being checked in that signed in after I did, I approached the desk, as I didn't want to miss my appointment. McKenzie had previously checked a patient in and must have pulled more than one slip. She had taken check-in paperwork to the wall between the procedure hall and then walked to the back of the reception area and was...talking to another of the employees in the reception area. She eventually walked to the desk and asked if I had a question. I explained the problem. She told me she had my slip and to take a seat and she'd call me up in a minute. Then, and this is a quote, she said "The next time you want to complain have a little patience.  We have other things to do than check-ins." I looked at her and said "Pardon me" and she repeated it. If I had not been with Dr Cosgrove for over a decade, I would be looking for a new Pain Management physician. But the worst is, I requested a contact by a supervisor once I got home and cooled off, and have YET to hear from anyone!
