Here is a quick rundown of how I found Teheen Electric: I hired a dirtbag electrician to checkout some lights that had gone out. He comes, spends a lot of time looking at the lights and says "I dont know whats wrong. I'll come back on Thursday with some special tools." Many thursdays and phone calls later he still never showed so I googled electrician and John Teheen was the only one to answer the phone. Here's how that went: John on the phone: Are you home now? I'm in Salem now. Want me to swing by and take a look? Five minutes later John and his assistant are there diagnosing the problem. Ten minutes later John figures it out. He has another job to do so he fixes one of the lights but he will need a new fixture for the other light. An hour later he comes back from his other job and installs the new fixture in under 10 minutes. All in all, from when I first pick up the phone to when he is all done less than two hours have gone by. I should have just called him in the first place!! If I could give 0 stars I would. Me and my family recently moved nearby and thought we'd try a new company and I suggest if you see this company name to run. The electrician that came to our house was exceptional and worked fast and efficient. But I over heard him get several phone calls from what I assume was his boss and could hear him yelling on the phone from the other room(he was not on speaker). He showed up to the job and was extremely UNPROFESSIONAL, loud, and smelled terrible. I told my friend about the innocent and she told me she had a similar issue but when he came out to do the first job he charged her a low price but when he came the second time he charged her triple the price for a much smaller job. My assumption is that he quoted her wrong the first time and wanted to make up for it with the second bill. Stay far away from John as he is completely unprofessional, untrustworthy in your home and with you money, and will smell up your own house. He gave us great counsel and we worked with his assistant to get the work scheduled for the following week. He was professional and focused on providing top quality work that was up to code. John and his crew were there on time, were professional, neat, and efficient. Although, we had a snag with a fan we had purchased, he wanted to be sure the work was done correctly and my home was safe, so we took the time to replace the fan unit and within a few hours the work was done. Day of appointment, he called to tell me he couldnt make it and that he would go back to office to find another time to reschedule for the following week. We went with Teheen Electric as we thought that a Master Electrician would do a Master job. We were very wrong. John provides very poor work and very poor supervision. John charges Master Electrician rates but sub-contracts the jobs and offers poor response and service. Outlets were installed at different levels on the same wall 3 feet apart. Side by side outlets were not level (different heights) and extra money was spent to repair the holes in the wall needed to correct the placement of the outlet boxes. We had to constantly request that the job be done correctly. Lights were installed without bulbs and extra work was done that we were told was due to code but in fact was just a mistake and there was no code. We were very displeased and contracted all other work to another electrician. read more

I called John Teheen because I was looking for an estimate on a kitchen remodel, he answered right away and came over and the following day gave us an estimate we could deal with. He made it sound like he was going to be doing the work and supervising his workers. He was a no show throughout thee whole job and when I called him when I had some concerns he wouldn't get back to me til the following day. His workers were sloppy in their workmanship. After several days of rain, they didn't wipe their muddy feet and tracked mud all over my house and rugs. When I asked them if they had any drop cloths they said his boss only carries one in each truck. I was flabbergasted at that concept. No wonder they couldn't cover up my floors and rugs. We had to clean up the floors every night and at the end of the job we had to call a carpet cleaner to clean our rugs. There work was also sloppy, switch boxes were at different heights, some of the low plugs looked like they were using already used plugs, because they were a little dirty and some even looked like they tried to wipe off the dirt with a wet rag or something because it left a mud streak on the white plug. Un-believable shoddy work. When I brought all this to John's attention he said he'd take care of it and he never did take care of it and it got to the point where he wouldn't call us back to rectify the problems. I suggest if your looking for an electrician.stay away from the smooth talkers because that's what John Teheen is, he reels you in with his smooth talk and talks a good game but he can't back it up and he's using sub-par workers to do his work for top dollar prices, Please look elsewhere and save yourself the headaches. read more
