Doctor Saunders performed a total knee replacement on my right knee back on April 1st of this year…read more Saw him for follow-up a few weeks later and told me I was doing well. Last month I was feeling pain and discomfort and saw him again. On that visit he told me different people heal differently. Well, today is 7 months later and my lack of stability and discomfort has not improved at all. I tried to tell him that on my last visit my concern and he pretty much told me it takes time. I made an appointment at another office and hope for a better outcome.

I thought long and hard about posting this because Dr. Saunders is a good doctor. But the…read moreexperience I had with his office was terrible. I waited 45 minutes and still did not get called and inquired about it. I noticed people going in after I had been there. So. visibly annoyed I asked again and said I would be outside. Was then called in, and waited again and when I went looking for water, Dr. asked if I was lost and wasn't going to put up with this BS. He told me his staff said I was a problem. Regardless of whether I was annoyed or whatever, instead of being met with understanding and maybe a sorry about the wait, they told the boss I was a problem leading to the doctor to reprimand me and I didn't hold back on him either. I think it is very wrong for them to make anyone wait an extensive amount of time. There are times these things happen, but you deal with them in a better manner that does not precipitate further animosity in a heighten emotional situation. In other words, say you're sorry to the patients for their wait and don't act like you just have to put up with anything because, well your here to see the "doctor".

All I can say is don't pay attention to the low scores. This practice is a solid 5. (2/5) My experience…read morewith this facility was frustrating due to poor communication and a lack of accountability. Before scheduling, I confirmed with my insurance company that the facility was in-network for physical therapy. When I brought an outside PT referral, I was told the department only accepts referrals from its own physicians, so I scheduled an appointment and paid a copay solely to obtain the required referral. After following their instructions, I was then informed that the Physical Therapy department does not accept my insurance plan after all. Had I been told upfront that physician and physical therapy services have different insurance participation requirements--or been directed to verify coverage with billing--I could have avoided an unnecessary appointment, copay, and wasted time. What is most disappointing is the lack of acknowledgment or effort to resolve the issue. The problem isn't just the money; it's that patients deserve accurate information before being asked to schedule appointments and incur costs. I strongly encourage future patients to verify both physician and physical therapy coverage directly with the billing department before scheduling. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will not be returning.

MOST THOROUGH, hands-on exam I have ever had by a doctor, even a PCP. I suffer from extreme lordosis ("sway back") and DDD, as well as a narrowing of structures in my spinal cord, still, following a spinal fusion 3 years ago. It causes aches that start in my lower back and as long as I am standing or walking it starts after about a minute and persists and only gets worse until I sit, bend completely over 90 degrees, or lie down. :( I'm only 38 years old and this has caused me to be pretty much a complete homebody and gain about 80 pounds. My career as a paramedic is gone. I do have to point out specifically her medical assistant!! She went over every page of my new patient paperwork, and actually cared what I had written down. This is the first place that I felt like I hadn't taken the time to fill out needless paperwork, just for someone to come in and have no clue what I was there for. I know that it does take a lot of time for her to do this, but she actually then gave a full report to Dr. Kini, before she came in to see me. And I could hear it, it was thorough, and Dr. Kini would ask her questions and clarify things, and when she came in to see me, she knew exactly why I was there. I can't say enough about how nice that is. Her hands on exam reminded me about the way medicine used to be, before computers, and imaging, and the doctor actually had to touch you to diagnose, not just be buried in a laptop screen the entire appointment. Dr. Kini does not bring in a laptop, only paper, and she has someone dictate her notes, which gave her time with me. I did have to get into a gown open in the back and I was able to leave my bra and underwear on. She felt along my back and did strength things with my arms, hands. Legs and feet. She checked all of my reflexes. She had me walk back and forth, while she watched. Had me bend over to check my range of motion, etc. She did offer me hope in the form of PT. And she referred me to the absolute best PT place I have ever been to, Select PT. They are miracle workers, even though I was skeptical. I get to see Dr. Kini again July 5th, and I can't wait. Note to everyone, she does possibly prescribe narcotics, and you will have to sign an opiate agreement with the new patient paperwork. For me, I already see another pain specialist and that is where my meds come from, so, just so you know, you can't have two doctors prescribing for obvious reasons. I was asked for $25 for the drug test cup, prior to seeing her, and that was before the front staff knew this was a second opinion, but I never had to use the cup and I still have it. But have $25 ready in addition to your copay for it. She is legit to the max, and her whole practice is professional and I love them. Thank you Dr. Kini and Staff
