They all worked on the card and the results blew me away. I wanted to be able to keep it and look at it forever, but it was fragile and needed expert framing. A friend suggested Artistic Edge, and the rest is history. Jessica spent the best part of an hour with me going over all the various possibilities. The color of the frame, the size, the matting, the various parts next to each other, the weight of what would be the final product. She acted like I was the only person of importance throughout all of this back-and-forth as I changed my mind over and over. Finally I was ready, and she said that it would be ready by X amount of time --- probably a bit sooner. Off I went. WEEKS before the date promised Kathy called and said the artwork was ready. When I arrived and saw it displayed I cried --- it was exactly what I wanted and ever so much more! Kathy talked to me --- and LISTENED --- as though I was the most important person in the world at that moment --- I told her all about who made the sticker card artwork and when and why, and she just listened and smiled and chatted and was wonderful. I took my artwork home, hung it up, and took pictures for all the sticker artists to enjoy. Everything has come out perfectly! This is a beautiful, meaningful, lovely piece of art, in the absolutely perfect frame. Artistic Edge did an awesome job --- they respected the artwork, they respected me, they threw their artistic talents into this, and I feel that at the same time they got a kick out of doing it. Adj: Tasteful and Tasty…read more The Sheraton Grand in downtown Sacramento is a long established hotel and conference location in the heart of the city, but it actually is a pretty new building considering that it's less than a quarter century old as it opened in April 2001. However, it was built into the restored, historic 78-year-old Public Market Building, where the main lobby, reception, and the hotel restaurants are housed. The rest of the hotel (where all the rooms are located) are above that as a 28-story tower. It certainly is a pretty grand place and it's a stately and tastefully designed hotel. A good place to stay for those who want to have a higher end staycation or have family coming into town for a visit. I've not stayed here, but I've been here on several occasions for work related conferences, meetings, etc. As such, I've been here quite a few times and I've always been impressed by the exterior architecture and the interior design. However, it is kind of hard to get to because the traffic on J St is usually very busy and the parking is challenging unless you use their valet parking, which I imagine would be quite pricey. Also, coming on foot if you work downtown, you may also find the surrounding areas maybe only ok by day, and safety could be an issue after dark. Most recently, the Sheraton is undergoing some pretty major remodeling/updating in the main areas on the first floor, to include the reception desk areas and some parts of the ground floor restaurant, bar, and lobby. However, they're doing their best to minimize the disruptions to visitors and patrons alike, with a lot of signage for how to navigate around the construction to get to the lower level conference rooms as well as around the closed bathrooms and restaurant on the first floor and to the open restrooms and restaurant on the upper level of the main part of the hotel. As for the catering/dining experience here, I've found their sit-down lunches to be well appointed with multicourse fares. Usually there's a salad, followed by a main course, and their desserts are especially delicious. More simple meals consist of a cold salad with chicken, bread rolls, and dessert, with optional vegetarian & vegan choices by request. There's also iced water, coffee, iced tea, and if you desire, you can also get a pot of hot water with tea bags by request. Overall, the catered food for conferences and meetings here is every bit as good as their wedding banquets, just simplified, but is as delicious as it is elegant in presentation, so basically the good is tasty and tasteful. The service by their wait staff is attentive and polished. I trust that when they finish renovating, the hotel will be in better shape for their guests who stay here and for visitors who come for work related conferences and meetings.

I had a phone consult scheduled with the owner, Ms. Michele, on January 5th, 2026. She called me on time and we both mutually agreed to move forward with the on-boarding process for doula services for my pregnancy. She requested that I call my insurance company and gather the information for her in an email. I did this, and sent her an email the following night, on January 6th. I didn't hear anything from her, so I sent a text message to both her work and personal cell phone number on January 9th. No response. At this point, I am 37 weeks, and anxious to move things along for doula services. The weekend and Monday goes by, and I still have not received a reply. I decide, as a last attempt, to call her. I called both her work and personal cell phone and left a voicemail on each line on Tuesday, January 13th. Nothing. Shame on the owner, Ms. Michele, for stating that she will move the process forward and said she will have a doula for me for my birth. She lied. She disclosed to me during our consult that she is a mother herself and had over twenty years of experience working as a L&D nurse. This provided me great relief and happiness, only for it to be crushed when she never replied to my messages. How can someone with this sort of background make a promise and then not follow through? Ms. Michele should be ashamed of herself not only on a professional level, but also on a personal level. This seems to be a wider issue with the Doula profession as I was ghosted by another local Sacramento doula company as well as the Volunteer Doula Coordinator at Mercy Hospital of Folsom. I believe doulas are a valuable asset to a woman's birth experience, however, I will not be wasting my time anymore trying to arrange one for my pregnancy.
