He has hundreds of videos documented of his daily life in the city, including wild nights out on the town and private moments with his famous friends. For any NYC history buff's, check out his videos on YouTube under "5thavenueproject". It's like going back in time to see how the city and everyone used to be....way before iphones and social media. It's crazy to see his videos of NYC during this era and the moments of when he lived in Fort Gansevoort and what the meatpacking district looked like then. What a total different place it has become! Gentrification anyone? When I visited the house last year, the outside door still looks the same. The tree outside across the steps was planted by Nelson Sullivan when he moved into the home. It's huge now but very small in his videos. The bricks on the outside of the house look like originals too. I heard that the top floor of Fort Gansevoort has some pictures and memorabilia from Nelson Sullivan from the time he lived there. I'm glad they kept a section to keep his memory alive.

I told him my story and was told to come back on Saturday..... Very sad management to a great leading LGBTQ icon .... Very sad ! This is a very important space of gay new york history and just be nice to people it's not all about the money .

It's humble with helpful people and fun times. It's centrally located very near multiple subway stations and bus stops. Membership is cost-efficient (monthly rates of $50/students or poor, $100/adults with jobs). Members of Hack Manhattan come from all walks of life with various interests from quilting and beer-making to woodworking and electrical circuit design. There's even some phone phreaks that set up an Asterisk PBX with four adventure games and a monthly lock-picking class! Of course, there are going to be a few people in the world who can't stand diversity and the inclusiveness that exist at Hack Manhattan, to which is said: GO AWAY. Intolerance is not allowed at HM. There are clearly posted guidelines for behaviour and if one can not accept them, they need to go elsewhere.

This has been years in the making…read more... Hopefully you will find it helpful for loved ones and family. Approximately 3 years ago I filed a claim with the VA for my Mom. My Dad was a veteran of not one but two wars, the Korean War and World War II. It was brought to my attention that my Mom was eligible for Survival Spousal Benefits. I knew I needed help navigating the sea of paperwork to obtain this and The American Legion came to the rescue. When I first met with these people I probably inundated them with paperwork. I wanted to make sure we had everything that was required and in order. Afterwards, whenever I received something from the VA I was instructed to contact them (which I did frequently). Well, it worked. Fast forward to last year, my mother started receiving monthly payments to help offset the costs of the Home Health Aide and medical bills. Then just this past June, I got an unexpected call from someone in the VA.. my mother was actually due for retro benefits going back to when I first opened up the case. It took awhile, but we finally received the benefits. If you have a spouse or parent that is a veteran of any war and are getting spun around by the VA, contact your local American Legion Office. There are unique interactive items in the exhibition and they are expertly explained. This is perfect for an American studies class field trip or for anyone interested in boats! Personally, I love museums and this one is one of the best in Brooklyn. There are cool movies and explanations and I feel like you can learn something new every time. If you are ever heading to the Brooklyn bridge or DUMBO -- I highly recommend going out of your way for a little bit to check this museum out!

The facilitators are knowledgeable and really enjoy sharing the history of Mexican folk art which often leads into other conversations revolving around general Mexican history and present day traditions. This aspect is what sets them apart from any other workshops I have attended which revolve around Mexican folk art. I highly recommend if you want to get a real hands on approach on Mexican folk art and crafts. The organization offers workshops in both Spanish and English. I can't wait to attend more workshops! I bought a last-minute ticket online to see "A Night of Chekhov." I didn't think anything about…read morethe venue-- Actors Temple Theater -- until I reached 47th Street. The theater is in a synagogue! Home of Congregation Ezrath Israel. The building, a national landmark, dates from 1923. Former congregants include Jewish celebrities like Jack Benny, Milton Berle, Shelley Winters, two of the three Stooges ... the list goes on. There are photographs in the hallways. The theater itself is comfortable, though nothing special. As it was a hot day, I was happy the space was adequately air conditioned. My singleton seat was in the front row! Note that folks with mobility problems may have issues. There are stairs. The stairway leading to the two-stall bathroom on the second floor is steep. One can tell it's an old building, with few if any upgrades in its 100+ years of existence.

I like to shout the kind gentleman who allowed me in, prior to showtimes. Your service is greatly appreciated. The ambiance is a little dated, but yet comfortable.
