They had no availability Friday or Saturday & advised me to go to an urgent care or hospital. I'm not a fan of Urgent Care facilities however I tried the new University of Md Urgent Care at Park 97 on Crain Hwy. they were wonderful. They ran test & confirmed a kidney infection but they do not have equipment to test for kidney stones. I was instructed to follow up with my primary which I did Sunday via the portal. When I didn't hear from anyone I called the office to speak with my primary Elizabeth MacNaught. Samantha took all of the info from & I stated I needed a script for an ultrasound. I was fine if they said I would need to come first before getting the script. Samantha called me back & informed me I would have to come. However the 1st availability that they had is wed dec 3. That's 10 days away I could be dead by then if this turns into sepsis which is what urgent care was concerned about. I like Elizabeth MacNaught but if I can't get his in to see her or even speak to her on the phone that's not helpful. In addition, Elizabeth did not respond to my request. This is the request I send directly to her. Hi Elizabeth, On Friday I had to go to the University of Md urgent care as I was pretty sure I have a kidney infection. If you'll check my test that they ran I do have an infection. I'm taking Cipro for the infection & Tylenol for pain & fever. I'm concerned I may have a kidney stone. I'm suppose to go to Mexico for a week starting 12/3. I do NOT want to have a medical emergency while traveling. May I ask you to PLEASE issue a script for an ultrasound or CT scan so we can rule out a kidney stone. This is suppose to be a healing trip to help with the grief of losing my husband a few months ago. Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Elizabeth responded Wednesday evening but I can't get a CT scan until 12/3 which is a week away. I called MPCP again this morning however no one has called me back. If they can't see their current patients in a timely manner perhaps they need to stop taking on more patients.

I recommend her to anyone but particularly women. I also love the app where it is so easy to make an appointment or chat with someone if you have a quick question. I've seen some reviews talking about not being able to get an appointment or no one answering phones and I have not had this experience at all.

From the folks you talked to when you called to place an appointment, to the front desk staff when you arrive, everybody is very friendly, helpful, but also professional. Dr. Martin's support staff is also great. When you're getting your vitals taken, you're never treated like they are in a rush and they also always make sure to answer any questions you may have. Dr. Martin is amazing. She is incredibly knowledgeable and thorough, but takes a whole body approach. She asks a lot of questions and gives you time to share any of your concerns with her. Neither of us have ever felt rushed when we were. The office is very spacious with a large waiting area and very well-maintained. If you need lab work done, they even have a lab downstairs in the same building; so it's very convenient. If you're looking to switch primary care providers, I cannot say enough great things about this practice.

It's funny how patients can wait 15 min or more but doctors can make you wait much longer. This doctor decided his time was just too important with an empty waiting room. Totally unacceptable. Johns Hopkins apparently doesn't have a late policy at all locations... From a quick web search: Johns Hopkins has different late policies by department, but generally, being more than 10-15 minutes late may result in rescheduling or being placed on a waitlist for later availability, so it is crucial to call the specific clinic ahead of time. Some locations also apply a grace period, while others consider lateness a no-show, potentially leading to a fee or even discharge from the practice for repeat offenses. Not good customer service. I think I'll find a new doctor and new location.

My primary care…read moredid some blood work to determine if I had diabetes and other ailments that relate, but they all came out negative. It was recommended for me to see a neurologist. I selected Dr. Johsin Chen based on her background in nerve studies. During my first visit, I appreciated Dr. Chen's calm and ease. She asked very specific questions to help her understand what is happening. She then did a routine check and was unable to grasp the root. She shared that she wanted me to get an MRI of the brain and cervical spine and an EMG. She carefully explained what each test meant, what it would do and how long it would take to complete. She also timelined the procedures in chronological order to help me set my appointments in the right order. She then asked me a crucial question that I didn't even think to ask .... "Are you claustrophobic?" I said yes, like level 10. She then explained that there is a difference between a closed MRI and open MRI. She showed the pictures and I got anxiety just looking at the closed one. Side Note: How could anyone sit in that for 40 minutes...Not I. Dr. Chen then changes her orders to an open MRI. Overall, her level of care, details, and attentiveness was really nice. She did not rush our session nor did she get frustrated with my many questions. If you are new to the neurology world, I would recommend Dr. Chen. She uses plain language and is careful to explain everything. You will not be disappointed.

What they will do is call you and tell you to make an in-office appointment, if it's serious enough. That's my experience.
