They have a bunch of tables and computers to use as well. There was a very nice man who worked there and helped me with the computer and printing some papers for me. I liked him very much. The down side of this place is that it appears to be somewhere that parents drop off their undisciplined kids and leave them. The only computer available was among a group of young kids who were loudly playing computer games. There was an employee who had to tell them several times to be quiet. The young lady at the front desk was helpful but very unpleasant to talk to. She looked annoyed that she had to help me. Overall, I was able to get done what I needed, but I wouldn't come here again. Too many loud kids taking up computers.

Like a self-checkout at the supermarket, it's great for the introverts that don't want to have a conversation. One of the "study" rooms was open this afternoon and I was able to spend some time with laptops set up and be on a few Zoom calls before the end of my workday. A terrific space and very productive. Story time rooms, education rooms, computers with educational games, reading nooks in the windows, beautifully designed book shelves and displays, a cool "shark room" which was a reading area with dome windows all around with sharks displayed and a lovely outside area to read. The staff was very helpful and patient with the kids. They helped with the scavenger hunt that they had for children and went over different programs and events they had coming up. It's a little bit of a hike for us, but we will continue going there. My daughter absolutely loves it and tells everyone about it.

My husband has started his Masters so I have been dropping by here pretty often to pick up books…read more This library is a part of the SCLENDS program so you can get books from other libraries in the state sent here to borrow. They make it really easy to find books via their website. I can log into my account and place a hold from home and then they will email and/or text when it is available. The reserved books section is to the right when you walk in the door. It's alphabetized by the borrower's last name so you can easily grab your book and head to the checkout stations. If you're checking out a book from another library, you will have to scan the barcode inside the back cover (or some are on the back cover), otherwise the system just knows what the book is when you lay it on the console. The parking lot is pretty small here so I usually have to park in the shopping center lot and walk over (not far). Also, free WiFi here!

I've checked into this Charleston County Library branch over 100 times, and I'm a happy patron…read more Bees Ferry library is a great place to browse and check out books, put books on hold online, print documents, and also use the intra-library loan to get materials from libraries in other cities and states. If CCPL doesn't have the book you want, they can get it for you and to the branch most convenient to you. Besides that, the library is a fun 'third place' to be away from home or work, and everything is free (minus printing, which is super cheap). The library is very busy with students after school hours. If you want a very quiet environment, come during the school day or later in the evening (after 6:00 PM). I am so glad to have this branch close to home.

Johnson was during the civil war, which there is still a powder magazine and a monument telling the story of the fort. The whole area itself, is where the SCDNR calls home. Mostly people come here to get their boats registered, but there is also a library and an information building. I actually grew up running in and out of the labs where they help nurture injured sea turtles back to health. I'm fairly sure you wouldn't be ble to do that now though, times are different. They have added some nice trails through the woods along the harbor, with signs along the way, explaining the different plants, animals, and Native American mounds you might see.
