The driver did not speak any english and was unable to communicate with me so i had to call a family member to translate. There was never conversation about money. After the driver took the car(I was picked up from the scene) about 20 minutes had passed and they called to tell me I owe $11 for tolls and if i was not there in 10 minutes they would bring my car back to their yard for $150 and i could not have my car back until the next day. The only toll road in the area is the GSP and AAA tows are not permitted on that roadway there is no reason for there to be a toll fee. When i advised their office that their driver was unable to communicate with me but did not mention money to me i was told that this is a "dual language country and i should learn spanish" this was extremely unprofessional and i feel they were trying to scam me. Did not realize there was a daily storage fee. I had to call and reach out to the employees for the quote to fix my car/diagnosis, which they claimed to have lost. At the end of the next day, they emailed the quote, upon which it was too late to pick up the car. The quote was over $1,000, so traveled over an hour to pick up the car and paid the towing fee and per day storage fee. What made matters worse was the fact that they didn't allow me to choose a location for towing. They claimed it was a contract and insisted on towing me to their own facility. This was frustrating because if your car breaks down on the Turnpike, it's likely that you need immediate repairs. Opting to tow it to your preferred mechanic would mean paying for towing twice, which is completely unfair. If you decide to leave your car at John's Main Auto Body facility, be aware that there are additional storage fees involved. It feels like they're trying to squeeze every last penny out of you. Furthermore, before they even start any mechanical work, they insist on running a diagnostic, which costs a hefty $145 per hour. This just adds insult to injury. Letter arrived in Oct 2023, says the towed it in June 2023 and I have to pay for towing and storage or they will auction my Bike. Bike was originally reported stollen in Jan 2023. John Main wanted 3400 to give me my stollen property. They said the police dept called them to tow it and the police dept was responsible for not notifying me. And I have to pay the storage. Cars got towed out of county park at North Bergen PD's request. The park is the country's jurisdiction. That was the first issue. 2nd issue: I called MT and asked about the first car and asked the cost. $427.25. I asked for a breakdown of the charges. $200 for flatbed tow, $50 for winching, storage $150, fuel and tax - $27.25. If the park was cleared out of cars, I doubt if they had to use winching to pluck the car out of a space. Then I asked about the second car and was told a higher price - almost $600. It was a Camaro. When I asked why it was more than the first car, they said it was written down as a SUV. I told them that a Camaro was not a SUV and the cost should have been the same as the other car. They said they would fix the paperwork and charge me $427.25. Second situation: I take Uber from the park to MT to get the first car. I calmly asked to look at the paperwork and pictures (you can check their cameras about this). If you want the car just pay for it and stop being so difficult". I told her that because I had to pay over $800 in cash to get the cars that I should be able to see the associated paperwork. I wanted to see the pictures because I wanted to confirm the extra charges for winching and a flatbed truck. The woman told me that she was not supposed to show me any pictures of the cars. She finally relented but the couple of pictures I saw was the car already in their tow lot, not in the space before they took the car. Before she showed me the pictures, the young clerk said "Why are you being so difficult? "Everyone knows that Sacco has a race every year in the park. It's your fault the cars got towed. I guess because they had something I wanted, they could talk to me anyway they wanted. I couldn't believe the rudeness, but I stayed quiet because I was getting mentally exhausted. I had to get the cash that they were demanding, and try to get two cars back to my house by myself using Uber. I was dizzy as I calculated that it was going to cost me over $1100 when it was all done. I paid the money, and the girl told me to walk up a few houses to a lot to get my car. As I walked on the lot, an older white man (thin build, white hair) comes out of an office. I showed him my receipt and walked to the car. I then overheard him call the young lady and confirm that I was okay to get the car. When I tried to start the car, it was dead. I asked for a jump and the man told me to call the office back. When I do, the same young woman answers and tells me that to jump the car it would cost me another $51.00!!!!! I couldn't believe how this place was continuing to try to get in my pockets for more cash. I told her that I was giving them almost $900 for the two cars already, and asked why they couldn't help me out and jump the car so I could leave. Then she goes on a rant and tells me again how it's my fault, that she can't help me, she doesn't make the rules, etc., etc. I hung up the phone and called AAA. I walked off the lot and waited on the public sidewalk for AAA to come. When AAA arrives in a little van about 30 minutes later, I walk back to the lot. By this time, the older man has closed the gate to prevent AAA from coming in. As I walked to my car the man shouts at me, "AAA can't come in here!". I told him that the tech had a portable battery and would jump the car. The tech then jumped the car in less than a minute. The man walks up when he hears the car start. Then told me directly, "Ok, now get off my property." How do you think this made me feel? I'm complaining to EVERYBODY about this place. read more

Ive included a cheaper tow and flat fix it place and arim repair place below. This place charged $107 to tow from the turn pike and then tried to charge $400 for a flat and Rim repair. They do over charge here. They know you dont have many options and will take advantage of that. We paid the tow fee and drove the car out of the lot on a flat and parked it on the street. I removed the tire and took it to a tire place for $25 and took the Rim for repair for $80. Totaling $212 vs th $400 charge. Had the distinct pleasure of visiting this fine establishment after having my car towed in Hoboken. Like all things, the Hoboken Parking Authority would make this as difficult as humanly possible. John's has only agreed to the protocol, right? Knowing how these things go I called in advance, got the details, and settled in for what I knew would be a lovely evening after a long day of work. First tip - ironically there's no where to park near the facility or you get towed. Imagine that! No greater self-fulfilling prophecy. Second tip - Visa, don't leave home with it. They don't accept it! Visa what have you done to sever ties with this upstanding business?? Visa - it's still everywhere you want to be. Do I want to be here? What you WILL need is cash or any other line of major credit card (4% usage fee) to settle up with the lovely ladies who greet you behind bullet proof glass (be sure and smile!). I'd suggest you also withdraw said cash before arriving at John's to defray the $5 ATM fee. I actually called that one before my arrival! Make sure you bring your driver's license, valid (and current) proof of insurance, and of course your registration. Hopefully this isn't in your actual car which, if towed, is probably sitting away from this facility in a lot in a very savory part of North Bergen. Don't worry though because one of the upstanding gentlemen who may have likely towed your car in the first place will give you a lift to retrieve these documents. Guess what, that means you get to ride with these wooleyboogers twice - once to retrieve documents and once to rescue your car from the seventh degree of hell. The conversation to and fro will be absolutely stimulating. What happens next is probably the single largest amount of data entry EVER... SO MUCH DATA ENTRY. What could Big John and his flock of lovely flamingos be doing with all of this data? QUE??? I'm so confused. While all of this is going on, be prepared for 133 angry people to storm into the building and carry on mindless conversations while you actually get dumber just for standing there. This is for the Tow Truck Driver who changed my flat for me. I called Wright Express to get a tire changed for my company car and they called their subcontractor, Main. After a little misunderstanding with the dispatcher, my tire was changed quickly by a very nice gentleman named Steve. The dispatcher was apparently new and had no idea what she was doing because she thought my call was COD and the credit card machine was down. I had zero cash on me and thought that this was covered by my fleet agreement (which it was). I was pretty ticked off but when the Wright Express services company called Main again, they straightened out the situation. Poor Steve had the patience of Job. He turned around after he left the first time and got back to my car pretty quickly, changed the tire and completely defused the situation. I hope Main gets the new dispatcher trained well and has more Steves on staff. read more

I had no other choice when my tire blew out on the turnpike. The tow truck driver was irate and racists - and let it be know he wasn't going to wear a mask... They charged me $250 to change ONE tire... and I left without a hubcap... they also couldn't charge my AAA because I had a digital card not a physical AAA card... but they were able to accept other forms of digital info. Another said for insurance reasons. Another said for branding reasons. They promised me an estimate "tomorrow" for four consecutive days. I still haven't seen that bloody estimate. They main me produce all my paperwork to have the car released. My insurance was only on my phone and they made me email it to them and then when I couldn't email it to them because I have no service they wouldn't give me the WiFi password and told me they have no WiFi. Meanwhile I can see their damn WiFi in my list of available WiFi. If it wasn't for Maya the one helpful human being in the entire place my car would still be there. She let me airdrop my insurance to her personal phone so they could release my car. The other reception was not just rude but completely unhelpful as my nine month old cried. This place is such a con. I got a flat on the NJ turnpike. The refused to take me to my destination which was 9.4 miles away. They made me go to their shop "to fill out paperwork" then towed me to my destination. For a fee of 622$. I used to be a tow truck driver and usually is a few bucks per mile maybe $6 maybe $10 but not $60 per mile. Basically they have a monopoly on the NJTP in the area so the screw everyone over. I was forced to hire this tow truck company because the NJ Turnpike authorities only allow certain towing companies to operate on their road. (Fishy scheme, if you ask me). asked how much it would be to take me to a family member's house (about 15 miles from location) and they quoted me $220. I decided to take my car to their shop and then use my warranty service to tow me to the dealership since I was out of monopoly-NJ-Turnpike rules. However, it only cost me $80 to take my car to their auto repair shop (pretty convenient!). Once off the NJ Turnpike, and at this location, my warranty service had problems trying to get a truck to get me due to weather problems (so they claimed.) They made me ask how much this tow truck company would charge me to take my car to the dealer (about 7 miles). They said $450 PLUS TAX. Even the teller who asked the owner for the price grimaced at the incredibly abusive quote I was given by her boss. Evidently, they wanted to take advantage of my plight. My warrant service refuse to pay this, and finally got somebody on their own. However, these people still made it unnecessarily painful to take my car out of their lot. The other driver had to come in (leaving his truck in the middle of the street since there is no parking), give his driver's license, and sign a release. I had to sign a bunch of papers as well. They were not only abusive in their pricing but also incredibly inefficient in their operations. Unless I am again FORCED by NJ schemes to hire these people (despite having my own warranty) I would never call this company for anything; I would obviously not have any repair done at their shop either. read more

I'm writing this hopeful review. My car stuck on the turnpike, I had to call the police to send a tow, since turnpike is restricted. I was towed to this place, where I was going to get my roadside assistance to pick up my car and tow elsewhere, but decided to take a chance. I'm not happy with the reviews I've seen, but they offered no charge to give me a ride to the train, I lost my keys in the bathroom and they called to let me know. I had no insurance card on paper, and the teller assisted me in emailing the e-copy to the office (I'm not technically limited, but needed help in this situation... the teller was helpful to me). Worst experience I've had in my entire life with a company EVER. NEVER GO HERE! Employees hate their lives. One employee, an older one lady (who reluctantly gave me her name "Debbie"....yea right) was rude and had no desire to help me whatsoever. When I went in person the experience was even worse. First of all the office is dirty, nasty, and a complete dump. In need of a major remodeling. Then the two attendants at the window were arguing with each other the entire time as I was standing in front of them waiting patiently for someone to help me. So unprofessional! Then I get my receipt and they charged me for 2 full days of car storage when my car was only in the lot 14 hours. I try to get a refund and they give me the name of a manager to call who I can never get a hold of. They can't even give me his direct number so every time I call I have to speak to their rude unprofessional attendants. They don't accept checks or VISA. They accept credit cards but DON"T ACCEPT VISA? Come' on. Stop. Don't. Ugh. Only reason this company is alive is because they get business from local police stations, if not they would be out of business for sure. read more

I have never reviewed any business but could not let this pass. This company is awful. They are criminals who rack up bogus charges and extremely poor service. My husband broke down on the NJ turnpike. This company was contracted to tow that section. They charged $250 just to get off turnpike. They then charged to remove drive shaft and also to put lights on and they did neither. They made my husband and son ride in the towed vehicle. That is highly dangerous and illegal. To make matters worse the driver was annoyed with the traffic and proceeded to pass the stopped vehicles on the shoulder of the road. This company was the only option we had. They were rude and way overcharged. Do not go here. read more
