This was by far the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Called them to get a quote for the work I knew I needed done on my car and was told that it couldn't happen over the phone, but that I had to come down in person. A little strange but ok whatever. Came down and was given a quote, upon leaving realized a service I was going to need wasn't listed so I went back in and they provided me with an updated quote. The part I needed was a specialty part so they told me I would need to come and pay a "deposit" for the part before they ordered. I agreed to that, within 6 days of the date I was given the quote I went to pay the deposit, magically the amount of the part went up by almost $200. I needed the work done so I paid it but noted it as the first red flag. They informed me that the part should arrive by Wednesday (3 business days) which was fine. Wednesday came and when they did not call I called for an update and the part hadn't arrived. Called them the following day and they advised they received the part but it was missing a key piece, that it was being expedited and should arrive the next day. Called the next day (because why would they communicate with their customers) for them to tell me that there was a delay and that it wasn't going to be delivered until the following Wednesday (so a week after the original date I was given.) I immediately was irritated and asked to speak to a manager; I was inquiring as to how that was good customer service and asked that at the very least they honor the original quote that they gave me. I was irritated but was never yelling or cursing at anyone; I kept it very respectful. The "manager" proceeded to tell me that if they honored the original quote they would lose money and they are a business and that's not going to work for them. I was also told that no one "twisted my arm" to pay the additional $200. Twisted my arm huh, never experienced worst customer service in my life. I got the work done with them for no other reason that I was already in $1,000 for parts but please don't go here unless you want to be verbally abused and mistreated. read more

Maybe I happen to end up with the one bad mechanic at this place because the reviews seem pretty good. Whatever the case, I wasn't at all happy with the service I received and moreover, there's a possibility that their work almost cost me my life. The story is long, but worth reading if you take car safety seriously. I suggest reading on and consider this a serious admonition. During the early months of 2022 I brought my van to the shop to get an estimate on a brakes job. I left the vehicle. I returned the next day for the estimate. I picked it up from the office and went to their lot across the street to pick up my van and review the estimate. When I got to my vehicle I looked at the wheels and noticed that some of the lugs were missing and some of the ones left on were mangled. None of my lugs were mangled before I left my van with them. I found the missing lugs (also mangled) in my van. I went back to the shop to ask why were these lugs mangled, not replaced, and most importantly, why was I not informed. I told them I just wanted an estimate. The mechanic's response was that the lugs were hard to remove and they had to practically tear them off. No further explanation. No apologies for not informing me. No effort to appease my displeasure. Why weren't these lugs replaced? Why wasn't I notified before getting to my van? I would have driven away without noticing I was missing lugs and that some were mangled. This could have had severe consequences. The lugs left in the van were tucked away in the driver side lower door pocket. I received no response as to why I wasn't notified. This really bothered me. However, they offered to sell me some lugs. So much for customer service. LOL. So, I had to leave the van with them again because of I had to go to work. I left the van so that they could at least make sure the lugs they mangled were properly tightened. I picked up the van. No apologies, by the way. I parked the van nearby since I live in the area. For the next several months I couldn't use the van because I never got the brakes repaired. I didn't get the new lugs because that was going to be left up to the next mechanic I would choose to service my vehicle. Months later I get the van towed to another mechanic. He fixed the brakes. Replaced the lugs, after complaining how tight and mangled they were. He followed the torque specs as per specific requirements for that make and model. And the big thing! About a week later I'm driving on a highway when I feel some play on one of the front wheels. I pull into a lot and within less than a second my left wheel detaches from the vehicle and I nearly spun out of control. I approached the last mechanic that worked on my car (brakes/Wheels). This wasn't the Ramirez mechanic. When I complained to him, he showed me the specs he used to torque my wheels and said that whoever worked on my wheels before him over-torqued the lugs, compromising the wheels studs, causing the wheel to eventually detach. Who's at fault? It was likely the Ramirez and Son mechanic who worked on the wheels. I recall he was non-English speaking, possibly Colombian. I describe him because you might want to stay away from this guy if you choose to go to this shop - or avoid the shop in general. Better idea. But yes, there's a very slim chance it wasn't this shop's fault. However, given the fact that the last mechanic (not Ramirez and Son's) showed me the manufacturer's specs he used to torque the lugs and given the fact that the Ramirez mechanics were pretty reckless with how they handled my situation initially, I can confidently lay my suspicion on Ramirez and Son's. They showed absolutely no professionalism. Take all this with a grain of salt. Do what you wish. Consider that I wouldn't have spent all this time writing this essay. Also consider that my wheel could have detached on the highway and the consequences would have been dire. You probably would've needed a Ouija board to contact my dead ass. My review would have been worse. Ask yourself, do you really want to take a chance with this place? Why? There's many other mechanics to choose from in this area. Play it safe and go elsewhere. read more

I've gone here a few times for my 2011 BMW 335i. Frank and his team are super communicative and from what I can tell have done a solid job repairing an oil leak as well as a strut / shock replacement. They showed me where the leak was and spent time explaining what needed to happen and why, and even gave me a candid reply when I asked what I could get fixed sooner and then later. It means a lot! Especially since I had other expenses that were more urgent, and needed to take two long driving trips between the first and second repair. read more

This is a late entry for some bodywork I had done at Ramirez about 6 weeks ago. After shopping around the area for bodywork, Ramirez seemed to be the most practical, friendliest and conveniently located for me when enquiring on estimates. I left my vehicle for about a week and when asked if there was a possibility to have the job done sooner, they happily accommodated. I was extremely nervous to leave my car with ANYONE. I am extremely happy about the work done on the car. I have had body work done before and mistakenly used a "reputable" place in Manhattan that I had to return to in order to have "moisture" marks removed from the poor paint job. In retrospect, I should have chosen Ramirez. I have recommended Ramirez to friends who have now also used them for repair services and left 5 star reviews as well. As a friend also stated, the only thing maybe I could suggest is to possibly offer extended hours once per week for those of us who commute to NYC who can't make it during the standard hours. read more

This place is a true gem! I first came to this place to get my 2015 Toyota Corolla fixed after a small fender bender where the driver side door got damaged. I live near the area and I've passed this place countless times but going to a mechanic and auto body shop is always stressful, mostly because you're never sure how honest they are. Frank and his staff were very knowledgeable and reassured me that everything will be alright. And boy they did not disappoint. They replaced the part that was damaged and even showed me the part they removed. Forward 3 months later, my dads 2005 Chrysler Town & Country starts giving us trouble. Friendly, efficient, and reasonable. Brought our car in for a pre-check before a long trip because of a noise. They let me drop it off in the AM and head to work rather than hanging around and called me no more than 2 hours later to let me know the result of the check up. They sent me a detailed report with photos and then Jose talked it through with me. He was very honest with me about what was a priority to do before a long drive and what could wait. I know a little about cars but not a lot, so I sent the report to my dad for a 2nd opinion - he's a mechanic who lives out of state and I always check with him before saying yes to repairs because we all know there are shady mechanics out there. He said the assessment was accurate and honest. The estimate seemed standard. In the end it needed one minor repair right away and they arranged to get the parts within a couple hours so I could pick it up after work same day. Very convenient if you live nearby. Overall I found them to be direct, quick, and personable. Lots of guys work in the garage so they're fast. Neighborhood gem and the type of service you don't get from a big chain like Auto Zone. I couldn't find a complaint if I tried. I purchased a certified pre-owned 2013 Nissan Altima and wanted an independent mechanic to take a look at the car prior to purchase. I brought the car in and they took it right away, done in under 2 hours. They did a thorough inspection of the car including visual and diagnostic (don't skip this step), and gave me an itemized list with estimates of must-repairs, nice-to-haves, and what repairs I can expect in the future. Buying a used car is a nerve-wracking process. The team here was personable, professional, and honest. This place is a mom and pop shop that appears and operates like a very well managed garage. I'm glad that we found them. My impressions. 1) the team works very well together. They treat each other respectfully and everyone seemed to be very happy to work there. Every time I've interacted with them, they're friendly on the phone and genuinely wanted to get me back on the road. Got to meet Jose, Jay, and Annette. Great people. 2) The pricing seemed fair. This will blow away any dealership pricing. I was advised of everything that was wrong (which I already knew before I dropped it off) and was happy to do some recommended maintenance as well. 3) I am definitely coming back for future service on my BMW One thing that I'd like to see is 1) wider hours for pick up and drop off. Yes it sucks, but the whole shop doesn't need to be opened for extended hours of pick up and drop off even once or twice a week for the busy commuter. read more

I am only giving two stars because the owners seem very nice. I had to bring my car here because of issues it it's abstained to my paint due to the building that I live in. the first day that I attempted to go and I was told that Harley wasn't available and to try again anytime between 8 AM and 6 PM the following day. when I arrive the following day around 1 o'clock I entered it to, what I believe would be called the reception area to where I wasn't greeted for 20 minutes although the receptionist was with someone else she could've at least acknowledged me. then when I finally did get her attention she didn't know what I was talking about and told me that the man that I was supposed to look for according to my apartment complex was no longer there (her words were "no longer with us") and that the owner had stepped out and to try again tomorrow. As tomorrow approached with an already bad taste in my mouth from my experience of the lack of customer service I arrive again around 1 o'clock and I'm told that they "aren't mind readers and the boss went for lunch, we don't know what time your going to show up, she was here all day...." and I could sit and wait. I felt that her approach was very rude and that she had told me to come anytime before open and close time, and that is what I did. Just like the day before I wasn't greeted when I entered for about 15 minutes as a receptionist took a personal phone call talking to someone on the other line about her daughter. I found it to be very unprofessional as to the fact that the lobby or reception area was full and she was having a very loud inappropriate personal conversation. Although she suggested that I sit there and wait for whatever amount of time it would take the owner to come back from lunch I decided to go to the store and come back once they called me 30 or 40 minutes later I returned back there and spoke to the owners who seem nice I was told to bring the car back the following morning my car is currently there for service now so I'm unsure what it would be like when I pick it up. Let's just say regardless of the fact I'm happy that my money isn't going to this business. I feel as though I have given enough, with so much time was wasted in between. Plus no matter the amount of times the receptionist has written my name down and taking my phone number she continues to call me variations of my name that aren't even close. I also asked one of the owners about a few other things that needed to be fixed on the car and I first received a ballpark figure of about $60-$70 when I just called to check in on it that $60-$70 went up $175 I think for personal things that I need fixed with the car I'll look elsewhere with better customer service. ---------------------ONE MORE STAR ADDED--------------------------- only because my car looked amazing after the was and detail they did, and the owners still seem very friendly. The lady at the desk just need to improve on her customer service skills.... and again I did have to pay for the job, so I can't talk about what the cost was and if i feel it was worth the value. I always used these guys for my car repairs and my father as well but may of 2019 they fixed my transmission and charged me $2650 they also broke my crossmember which was at least $1000 part from Nissan. They broke that part and welded my transmission in and didn't tell me they did that so recently when I took it somewhere else for a stabilizer clamp they told me it couldn't be screwed in because the previous repair they didn't do it right let alone be honest enough to tell me maybe because they didn't want to pay for the part and what they did wrong. I have the receipt for it and they still won't acknowledge the fact that they messed up. Be careful to anyone because maybe later it could cost you your car. read more

I went to Ramirez & sons to get an alignment after a front (2) struts and wheel bearing replacement. I had planned a trip to Toronto and wanted a safe ride. I spoke with the reception and they said that they would check the front end for me for free. The alignment would be 85$. Fair I thought. I had my wife drop off the car and she got a call the next morning saying that they won't do this alignment job because the car needed brand new 1. tie rods 2. sway bar 3. Sway bar links 4. All 4 tires Quote: 1100$ My wife immediately brought the car back and paid them a 'reduced' post diagnostic fee of 60$. I took the car to Toronto and paid 600$ for Sway bar links, 2 front tires, new battery, repaired muffler, oil change, a 4 wheel alignment, rear drum brake adjustment and a whole host of other areas' inspection. This mechanic tried to fleece my wife out of a ton of money for repairs that were not needed, and the rate quoted was unreal. Avoid! these people are dishonest. read more
