At first, Demayo law seemed friendly and said my case looked good, but the way they handled my case…read morewas very unprofessional. I was contacted by multiple people at the beginning and received inconsistent information, and I often had to call them myself for updates. The specialist assigned to my case was not the one who ultimately contacted me--during my last conversation with him, he told me he would reach out to the insurance adjuster, but instead I later received a call from a different representative informing me they would not be pursuing my case. After more than two months, I was told my case was being dropped because liability was denied and they did not believe it was strong enough to proceed to trial. I was also told they had "just reviewed" the police report, which was very concerning given that this should be one of the first things reviewed before accepting a case and recommending treatment. The representative who contacted me was dismissive and lacked compassion, which made the situation even more frustrating given everything I am already dealing with, including a totaled vehicle and ongoing insurance issues. I was also given explanations about fault that were confusing and did not align with my understanding--for example, I was told that even with a green light I should have waited for oncoming traffic, which did not make sense based on my understanding of traffic laws. I was ultimately left being told to look for a second opinion and that the treatment they had recommended may have to be paid out of my own pocket. The lack of communication, consistency, and professionalism throughout this process was unacceptable. I would not recommend this firm for accident claims or any type of claim at all!!!

I sent in a new inquiry in March waited a week or 2; still nothing so I called. The lady took all my information down said I'll receive a call back " MOMENTARILY ". Called today requesting an update the lady couldn't give me any type of information other than "You're already in the queue for a call back" a queue??? For 2 months??? I HAVE COURT IN 2 WEEKS! The lady couldn't help and didn't seem empathetic just gave her scripted apology and wouldn't answer anything else. Thought the reviews were leading me to the right place after receiving their email unfortunately i was WRONG!!! Thankfully i didn't pay them upfront so i'll take my business elsewhere but let this be a warning to any newcomers!

It can take some time to resolve things, as we all know the Charlotte court system can take years, even for what turned out to be a frivolously written infraction. RTS took the stress out of the situation by clearly explaining the process, options, and ensuring we worked towards a good outcome, with respect, honesty, and integrity. A special shout out to Will, Jenna, and Lisa. I felt like I had a team behind me all the way.

I was represented by Christine Carver in a child custody matter, and unfortunately, I cannot…read morerecommend her. I hired Christine in early 2025. Things initially went well, but in April she stopped communicating with me for more than a month. During that time, opposing counsel offered a settlement that included Spring Break parenting time, but I was not informed in time to accept it. When I finally requested that Christine withdraw, she responded within 30 minutes after being unavailable to discuss my case for weeks. I asked the firm for different counsel, but the attorney I was told would contact me never did. Christine later assured me communication would improve, and for a while, it did. While Christine was on maternity leave early this year, and another attorney helped file a contempt motion. She was kind and responsive, but the draft contained multiple errors and required several billed revisions. I spent approximately $2,000-$3,000 on one motion, including research that was ultimately unnecessary. After I questioned the billing, the firm provided a $600 credit. Christine returned in May and asked me on June 2 to provide information for an amended custody modification. I submitted everything by June 12. I never received a draft or meaningful status update. On June 17, I was told to replenish my retainer by $5,000 before calendar call. We later agreed on $3,000 due July 1, which I paid in full. At no point was I warned that paying by the agreed deadline would leave insufficient time to file the amended motion. On July 2, after trial was scheduled for August 13-14, I learned it had not been filed. The court may now have to rely on an outdated 2021 motion instead of the updated filing Christine previously said was needed. After missing the deadline, she suddenly claimed the amendment was not necessary and that the old version was sufficient. I asked whether she could seek permission from the court to amend before trial. I was told to wait until Monday, but Monday passed without an answer. After another ignored follow-up, I asked that work be paused to preserve my remaining retainer and requested withdrawal. When I later tried to discuss her strategy and possibly preserve the attorney-client relationship, that request was ignored. Her paralegal sent me a signed withdrawal motion late Friday afternoon and said I would have to wait until Monday for DocuSign, leaving me approximately four weeks to find new counsel before trial. My concerns were not based on one missed email. They involved repeated communication failures, missed opportunities, expensive and error-filled drafting, lack of transparency about deadlines, unanswered questions, and a withdrawal handled at the worst possible time. I later noticed that although the firm receives frequent positive reviews, the few reviews I found specifically mentioning Christine were also one star. I took a chance expecting the best and am now approaching trial, feeling that her representation may have cost me far more than money in relation to more time with my daughter. For any parent or guardian seeking child custody representation: set clear communication expectations, closely review your invoices, ask for filing deadlines in writing, seek a second opinion, and trust your instincts. I would not recommend Christine Carver.

Once again, Mark Jetton has come through for me in a big way. He's 5 star! Offers value. Mark…read morecommunicates and is results driven. I would avoid the family law side of JM at all costs. Eric Meredith will bleed you dry and leave you without any meaningful work product to show. At best.....1 star! High cost, low results, zero value! If you hire Eric, don't expect communication or results. I heard from JM billing on average 3x more often than my legal team. After over eight years of paying Eric to handle my divorce/custody/equitable distribution, I find myself in a worse position and out nearly $100,000 in empty legal fees. A great example is a 2021 court order requiring my former spouse to pay me $175,000 and return all my personal property within a very finite amount of time (I believe 45 days). It is now 2026 and I still have not received the court-ordered money or a single item of personal property. Eric has refused multiple times to pursue enforcement of the order or file for contempt on the 2021 order. Eric and his team often refuse to react to opposing counsel's blatant disregard of active court orders or will react only after several client requests. And even then, they do so half-heartedly and extremely slow. They certainly could never be accused of being proactive. Eric was supposed to handle arbitration and has billed handsomely for it, but after more than four years of failing to get anything scheduled, I had to take it upon myself to contact the appropriate professionals and get this scheduled without cooperation from Eric or his team. Another example of having been billed thousands for Eric to "handle" this with no results. I hired Eric to handle custody for me and my position has actually gotten progressively worse with Eric's involvement. Mark Jetton and his team have proven more effective on assisting with family and custody issues than Eric and his family law team. Despite thousands of dollars in fees to Eric, I have less access to my children and I've had to personally work to fully facilitate the reunification process with my children without cooperation from Eric or his team. Again, all this despite thousands and thousands of dollars in billing to handle and facilitate reunification. Again, there is little to no work product supporting all those thousands of dollars and years of billings from the family law side of the business. Eric and his team have refused me access to my file or provide copies of motions, judgements or court proceedings. They get extremely defensive when I asked for status updates, pertinent correspondences or any type of work product showing progress. They have refused on several occasions to provide any "evidence" to support billings. It is my experience that Eric is extremely secretive and conducts himself professionally in a manner unbecoming and jeopardizes the reputation of JM daily. Those in the inner circle question his work ethic, effectiveness and ability and willingness to fight for his clients. Eric lacks empathy or any sense of urgency for his clients. He is extremely focused on billable hours and doing "just enough to not get fired!" Not exactly the mindset you want dor someone controlling a portion of your financial future and access to your children. Eric has proven to be extremely disappointing and ineffective. Conversely, the criminal law side led by Mark Jetton is responsive, efficient and results oriented. Worth every penny for actual results. Mark is dependable and offers true value.

To be fair, my case was ultimately filed and processed. However, the client experience throughout the process was incredibly disappointing. Communication was consistently poor, responses were often vague or dismissive, and there was very little guidance, transparency, or follow-up unless I repeatedly pushed for answers myself. The most frustrating part was spending nearly two months trying to get meaningful updates after my trustee payment had already been delivered and cleared my account. At one point, I was told that follow-up with the trustee was not included in their services and that I could contact the trustee directly myself. After doing exactly that, I later received a response telling me not to follow up with the trustee further -- despite being instructed to contact them in the first place. Bankruptcy is already stressful enough without feeling like an inconvenience for asking reasonable questions about your own case. Good legal service is not just filing paperwork. Communication, professionalism, empathy, and client support matter too, and that was severely lacking here. I would never use this attorney again, and I would not recommend him to anyone who values communication, reassurance, or basic client support during a difficult process.
