Upon arriving, I was greeted by every worker and offered help. All the workers that greeted me and offered help, were very kind and friendly. It felt like I was somewhere safe and taken care of. In the hot weather, I had help with moving plants to the register and even to the car. And a plus was that I found some cool looking plants. I spent over $300 was told over the phone to pick up a Iris plant they had waiting for me that got mixed up in a previous sale I returned to pick up the plant I was told its missing ..sold ..no response when asked what will be done also bought pond plants most died ask for some compensation was told would knock off $2 odd way to treat a customer who already spent $300 won't be back read more

my experienceience was BAD. From worrible customer service service to ruining the surprise to not having what i order and paid for and choosing for me yet still charging me the same price to leaving the wrong name on the card. saying my flowers i sunt to my wife were from some man named david. I had such a horrible experience at this nursery that I sat in the car and cried when I left. I had bought some shrubs earlier in the year and about half of them didn't make it. The weather in Macon is crazy, so between no rain and then too much rain, most of my yard had a rough summer. I went to Johnson's to see how we could remedy the situation and/or to get advice for future projects. I had spent about $500 over the summer...which is a lot of money for me. I had taken pictures of my suffering plants and I went into the nursery seeking help. I was not accusatory or demanding in any way. The owner, Terry (I believe that's his name), was so rude and aggressive toward me and I was shocked by the way I was treated. I felt like he was trying to intimidate me...I'm small in stature and a young female and he showed absolutely no respect for me as a customer or even as a person. He used aggressive language toward me like "look lady!" and "you abused your plants and that's why they died" and refused to offer any advice, refund, or resolution. He kept pointing out everything I had supposedly done wrong, and when I tried to explain that the situation was nothing like that, he wouldn't listen and kept insisting that I had abused and then neglected my plants and it was almost impossible to kill the kind of shrubs I had bought but I someone managed to do just that. He even tried to tell me about my own yard but he got most of it completely wrong and then accused me of arguing when I tried to explain. In short, all I wanted to do was have a conversation but while I was still speaking he turned his back on me and walked away. I know half of Macon goes to the nursery to buy plants but I will certainly not be back. Not only am I shocked and hurt, but I'm a little afraid to return due to the aggressive way I was treated and I wouldn't feel comfortable shopping there. read more

I agree with Michelle P. horrible customer service. I bought plants and arranged with Terry (owner) to come over to plant them. He said in 2 o 3 days. I never heard from him after 3 days I called and was told he had me in his schedule but was never able to find out when he would come and after a week I gave up. Will never go back and will advise friends about the lack of service. The people in this nursery need to learn to treat their customer with respect and honor their commitments. read more

This is the best and most knowledgeable nursery in town. Plants are healthy and beautiful. I have shopping there for 50 years

Located just off of Vineville, limited parking but that's usually not a problem. They raise some of their plants and usually stock unusual to the ordinary plants. They do have some exotics that have been there so long, that they are literally fixtures of the building. There was a cactus that was about ten feet tall, it was a slow day and I asked the guy about it. He may have been the owner, not sure. There is the restarant next door and someone from there inquired about buying it. He said they could just have it if they could move it. They brought several employees over and with all of them, they couldn't lift it. It is an interesting place to see such plants at sizes you rarely see and to find plants that you usually only see in books or have to order online to buy. While they are a little higher than say Wally World, they have a lot of expertise in all things growable. They've been there as long as I can remember and likely will be a fixture for many more years to come. read more

It's nice to find a place where you truly get the attention you deserve. This family owned and operated business has been around as long as I can remember and they have always had a healthy selection of any perennial or fern that I need. They also will help you put together a few things that will look nice growing alongside each other for a pot or your yard. I also have used their florist department which is very reasonably priced and they produce lovely arrangements. read more

Stay away or you may become addicted! I live 2 blocks away and finally stopped by this unassuming nursery. I now go at least twice a month.
