Luckily, my high school's AP econ teacher helped me with the course and was able to override APEX's grading system, which helped me complete the course. Had it not been for him though things would be a lot worse for me. This teacher also was the one who suggested I write a review in the first place. At the time I was the only one in my high school taking this course online. I am now a freshmen in college and have been a 4.0 student all throughout high school and my time in college. To this day, online AP econ was the most difficult class I've ever had. Below are my complaints: 1) With every other online platform I have used (schoology, wiley plus, moodle, etc.) you were able to go back to questions that you weren't sure about. However, on APEX, you HAD to answer a question before moving on to the next one, and you could go back/forward. This was extremely unhelpful when I was taking a test and would put me far behind in my course progress if I needed to wait the entire weekend to ask my teacher about a certain question. 2) Questions on tests and quizzes were often inaccurate (the wrong answer was marked as correct), poorly worded, or went far beyond what was taught in the video lessons. There were also no explanations given as to why answers were wrong on tests, and sometimes they even stumped my AP econ teacher. 3) APEX customer support was minimal and I had no access to anyone who had designed or overseen the curriculum, which made figuring out what I needed to know extremely difficult. There was no one to contact if there were issues (like I mentioned above) with tests and quizzes. 4) All of the lessons that were given to me seemed extremely dated. All of the economic data that was given was from the late 80s and early 90s. I don't have anything against watching econ documentaries from 1992, but it gave the impression that the course itself hadn't been updated since then. 5) This course did not sufficiently prepare me for the AP test and I decided not to take it because my econ teacher said that there was material in the APEX curriculum that he hadn't seen since college. I figured that I didn't want to waste my time and money taking the AP test if I was not properly prepared. So, there you have it. Overall, this course brought me a lot of undue stress my second semester senior year and really brought me very little in return. With some changes, I think APEX could be a good way to learn outside of the classroom, and I liked the concept of watching video lectures, practicing, and taking tests on my own time with one software. However, these glitches made it really difficult. Hope this will be helpful!

I paid around $800 for this course, which makes the lack of communication, organization, and timely grading even more ridiculous. Assignments can sit ungraded for what feels like FOREVER. I have waited days and even weeks for things to be graded, which is completely unacceptable when students have deadlines and need grades back in order to move forward. The teachers do not seem to treat the urgency of the course seriously at all, yet students are still expected to meet every deadline on their end. For $800, I expected actual support, reasonable grading times, and a program that felt organized. Instead, I spent an insane amount of time waiting, stressing, contacting people, and trying to get basic things handled that should never have been this difficult in the first place. Paying that much money just to feel like you are constantly chasing people down for help or grades is absurd. If you are considering taking Geometry Honors through Apex, DO NOT DO IT. Seriously, find another option if you possibly can. I would never willingly take another course through this program after this experience. The amount of frustration and stress this caused was absolutely not worth anywhere close to $800. Save your money and save yourself the headache.

Like most nonprofits, Treehouse can always use help. My (former) workplace ran a clothing drive and then a group of about 10 of us sorted and tagged clothes for the Wearhouse. I signed him up to a morning camp & afternoon camp (2 camps held during the same week to ensure he was in an all-day camp). 7 days before the camp, I got an email confirming his upcoming camp & instructions on where to park, what to bring, etc. 4 days before the camp start date, they emailed me saying that both camps were cancelled due to not insufficient enrolled campers. I just cannot believe how little notice they gave me. They did offer alternatives like signing up for another week or taking my kid to the Redmond location (which was not feasible for our family ). In the first couple of emails they sent me, they did not offer me the opportunity to get a refund. I had to ask. I also asked that they call me - I thought it would be easier to communicate rather than exchange emails, but they were reluctant to do so. There is no phone number listed on their website. On the refund email, there is a phone number listed but when I called, I found out the number was not in service. When the manager finally called me, he was nice and understanding, but ultimately there was nothing he could do. Luckily I asked about the following week's camp and he informed me that the following week is also cancelled. I'm glad I asked, otherwise I don't know when they would have informed me (why they didn't inform me of all the cancelations all at once is beyond me). My kid was so excited for this camp! It's so disappointing. And now, it's way too late to find any other summer camp in Seattle for next week. I am stuck trying to find other childcare options. I can't speak about the quality of the camp, but Coding With Kids is definitely not being run professionally based on my experience.

My daughter has been attending since last year during COVID. The staff took precautions to make the…read moreschool a safe environment. I decided to have my daughter attend because she has traveled to most places in the US and to my home land the last couple of years. I wanted COVID to be a positive experience and not coup her up in the house. Since attending DLEC my daughter has learned her basic education her cousins are learning in Kindergarten. My daughter learned so much and worth the experience. I travel from Seatac and sometimes Auburn to drop off and pick her up but it's so worth it. She has even got accepted into her local school without testing to join kindergarten when she turns 4. I'm glad to have her start her education very young. Everyone thinks she's very smart and a fast learner, visually and physically. Also her social skills has improved so much. She's not shy around people and communicate with those when spoken too. Thanks to all the staff for making her beginning education experience so much fun and challenging during these tough time in our lives. I appreciate very single staff!

To provide some context, in December of 2022, our daughter's first grade teachers summoned us for a conference to discuss her progress with ELA and Mathematics. At this point in time, they were very concerned that she was not performing at grade level and even attempted to hand us a packet for special education to consider it for our daughter. We decided to push back, asked for six months to work with her and tutors before proceeding down that path. We first attempted Varsity tutors, but it just did not meet our needs. Then we found Ms. Payton and Mrs. Anu, and something magical happened. Within a few sessions, her teachers started making comments about her wonderful progress. By March 2023 (the date we set for a follow-up on her progress), her teachers could not stop raving about her progress. Fast forward to her final conference in June, and she surpassed all of their expectations and is now on track to be ready for second grade. What has stuck out the most is their repeated comments of how much confidence she has now. Because they have provided her with the tools to work through ELA and Mathematics, our daughter actually enjoys it now (before she would cry at the mention of either). She even walks around with a notebook practicing equations all on her own! If you are considering tutoring for your child, do not look any further!
