I do not recommend this moving company! They ruined a ton of our furniture and took 6.5 hours to move a two bed apartment even though the kitchen and lots of miscellaneous items were already moved. We ended ip having to keep our items in their parking lot all night until they could get us a different crew. I refused to let crew number one enter my home after watching them drop furniture and drag it across concrete! They only covered two mattresses the rest was just placed in a dirty truck and some against our dirty grill in the truck!Johnson After lots of headaches and back and forth foolishness (on their part) they gave us two options. First option is give us a full refund for the moving expenses and a nonsense payment of $807.00 for the damage. Second option is to change our policy to full value loss, have an insurance adjuster come out, not refund us for the move, and they give us what the insurance adjuster sees fit for our loss. We chose option one as I have no trust in these people anymore and am sick of living with filthy broken furniture. They outsourced my move to a company I had never heard of (without even telling me), arrived almost an hour late, charged more than the quote even though it took less time than predicted and never followed up with me. Bad business, scammers. read more

If you are moving within or without (i.e., long distance or not) Kansas City, go to these guys. Don't even waste time with anyone else. After our first movers stopped communicating with us the DAY BEFORE we were supposed to move cross-country, I thought for sure we were [insert NSFW word here] in a major way. Right now, all the moves that didn't happen because if Covid are happening, PLUS those that would be happening now anyway, so supply for moving services is at a low. (When I was arranging our move for early July in early June I heard from five separate companies they were booked already through the third week in July AT LEAST.) In desperation, I called around and Johnson's manager in Topeka (Sharon, who also called to see how our move was, which was unnecessary but so nice) directed me to Josh in their KC office, who not only took my calls, but took my details down and had a quote for packing and moving, both, within about 10 minutes. They showed up two days later, packed us, and then showed up in our new city halfway across the country EARLIER than they had expected. When was the last time a mover showed up before they said they would? Exactly. To top it all off, every obstacle that happened, Josh dealt with like a pro. Building being a huge pain about the cert of insurance? No problem. He involved his broker. Got it thte night before our move-in. Me getting some computer-generated stuff saying the move was happening on a different day and calling him like five times? Totally polite - set nerves at ease. Seriously, this dude deserves a medal, and I would send him a bottle of the nicest thing he drinks, if he drank, which I understand he doesn't. (Non-sequitur but just illustrating I would do more than just pay this guy. He deserves a personal thank-you, and I would figure out what that is if I could. I will somehow.) Top this all off with his movers, Cary and Brendon. These dudes, man. Not only are they absolutely just the NICEST, they work their butts off. Efficient, cool under pressure, ready to help, careful with your stuff. And just genuinely good people. My husband and I genuinely enjoyed talking to them while they worked on both ends of the move. If they didn't live in KC, I would 100% ask them to come where we live now and move us every single time ever again. Ask for them by name if you can get them. You won't be disappointed. This company massively saved us when I was legit not sure we'd be able to move at all on time. I'd recommend them a thousand times over. read more
