Leaving their trash all around the apartment grounds, taking breaks and disappearing for 10-15 minutes at a time. Caught one of them going in the community building looking around and wasting time. Another sitting in his truck on his phone 2 different times just talking to friends. Call into management because this move was easy and minimum items for a two bedroom apartment with no additional things other than furniture and it is taking 3+ hours to load with me & my husband making trips to Lowe's to buy supplies because they were out, carrying things down and he stairs and into our vehicles to just get done quicker along with packing it for them so they just have to carry it. God forbid we carry items that can be carried with our hands!!! Everything has to be used with a dolly. To then I specifically asked management to not say anything to them since we were waiting for them to off load our items and he did resulting in the two staff remembers confronting me & my husband. When really a business owner myself I would want to know if my staff was 1) not working efficiently especially because this is a pay by the hour situation, 2) goofing off, being careless and disappearing and 3) tarnishing my reputation! They will take your stuff apart such as twin bed and king bed but not know how to assemble it back together. Didn't even have the correct tools we had to help again... To then for that amount of money this is how they leave your stuff.... BEWARE They charge for supplies not used and add hidden costs! But seeing how management handled the situation along with them allowing their staff to perform in this manner with no care to then confront us, it explains it all!!! USE ANY OTHER XOMPANY IN THE AREA OR HELL JUST DO IT YOURSELF; your going to end up doing it by yourself anyways dealing with this company because they don't care how long it takes. Quick move showed up at my house at 9 AM with three trucks and four guys to load my stuff up. They had everything out of my house and back in my new house within six hours. The most efficient way in our vast experience, is not to load the truck until all items are checked off and sitting on the driveway, which was the way Mayflower did things decades ago. Apparently this crew was trained to take items straight into the truck and fit them in as best they could, so they had to partially unload and reload the truck because their packing space was quite limited compared to what their boss allotted for. Poor communication and planning, inefficiency all caused by the owner PLUS lack of coordination topped off by shouting rudeness and maltreatment in the end by the owner... it all adds up to a "never-again" pledge for this senior citizen. I paid 30% higher than I expected from the original quote and they left me frazzled.

The email I did receive had the estimate for 5 movers for 6 hours but no portal access or way to secure it so I immediately called that same day and waited on hold for an hour before they told me they would have someone from the local office call me. No one called and because of the holiday weekend no one was in the office until the following Tuesday. I called first thing Tuesday morning and they again said someone from the local office would call me. No one did. I waited on hold for another hour and explained everything again and they put me on hold while they contacted the owner Matt directly. When they came back they said they were sorry and something had fallen through and they wouldn't be able to help me with the move anymore. This leaves me with an immediate upcoming move and scrambling to find help. This whole process could have been handled way better and this company was a referral from someone else. They went above and beyond getting our furniture moved. They put protectors on door frames, laid out mats and covered the railing on the stairs. Not a scratch to be found in our brand new house. Moving day was a different story, it was going well until the lead loader received a call saying that they had to pack everything tightly to squeeze another load on the truck and then from that point it was pure chaos. The loading team proceeded to disassemble EVERYTHING and as they loaded the truck parts were not being packed together, I asked the lead about what was going on and he reassured me that the driver (who was not present) and unloading team (from Colorado) were the best and not to worry. My wife handled the unloading process in Colorado as I still had to finish things up in Kansas City. The driver told my wife that an inventory sheet was not necessary as he knew where everything on the truck was located; this being my wife's first time handling a move-in by herself she did not know any better so she listened to him. My wife said the driver was friendly and a hard worker but had no clue where things were located on the truck. The unloading team that Kansas City Moving Storage hired in Colorado my wife said was terrible. After they assembled our dining room table they went to move it without talking to my wife and put a foot long gouge in the dining room floor and just laughed it off. The crew constantly took breaks and towards the end of the day just left without finishing, my wife and the driver ended up finishing with unloading and assembling. I arrived in Colorado two days later and as I was unpacking noticed that our vacuum, few kitchen boxes, and toy boxes were missing. I also noticed a gouge in the wall where the movers hit it with something. Not only were we missing items but we also received items that were not ours, which I reported but Kansas City Moving did not care or return for the items. As I was reading the inventory sheets that were created during the packing process in Kansas City I noticed that they coded everything as scratched and worn on all of our items to include a brand new washer and dryer that I had delivered the day of the move. How shady is that?! I e-mailed the president of Kansas City Moving & Storage and told him what had happened and he never responded. I do not recommend Kansas City Moving and Storage; poor leadership, lack of integrity and customer service. Military from the Fort Leavenworth area do not accept Kansas City Moving and Storage if they are assigned to you from the transportation office. Avoid using this moving company!
