I had to refuse to take medication Man came into room at night, lights off...no one knows who he was Medication needed to control blood sugar refused Insistence on insulin although 7 day dose Mounjaro already taken No visits from my doctor at all...felt abandoned Still have no idea what my health condition is! Took 4 hours of gasping for breath with fluid in lungs before any treatment. No one seemed to believe me. read more

Update: After being told by the RN that a much needed emergency appointment would get scheduled before being released, we were naive and so trust her. It seems to come easy for some people to look you in the eyes and lie. I agree with those stating this hospital just doesn't care about you. read more

The nurses here are very very sweet but the big girl up front with the mouth needs to be checked asap she was so shady. As for the care it's not really existent my friend had extreme nausea and they made us wait 3 hours for a room but they were taking people before us even though we were there first and when I asked why it was taking so long she said they were cleaning rooms but I call BS. Not to mention the ageism they showed towards us because we are younger is actually crazy they were taking all the old people before the young people who actually have a chance at life please do DO NOT COME HERE!! read more

The emergency staff such as doctors are absolutely no help. We were in there Sunday night with a laceration to the thumb (almost not intact) just hold on by a small piece of skin. The doctor said that is not an emergency and can wait to be fully operated on with an other clinic. She said had a smart comment is saying "that looks terrible" and a small laugh. They should teach them some sympathy in school or their parents. Goes to show what they lacked on. read more

My uncle received medical treatment at the hospital for eight days. The staff provided outstanding care. We are thankful for the dedication of the nurses, nurses' assistants, food service staff and janitorial staff on floors two and four. read more

I know from past experience that the care and service was the worse I have ever had, however, be that i may, I may try again, because Wake and Rex have fallen in their rating too. I had to take my wife to emergency, we took a look at the reviews in the area before we decided to go. We are visiting in the area and do not know much about the area. Most all the hospital ER's have bad reviews here. We were apprehensive but decided on UNC when we left because the hospitals linked to them are research related and they are supposed to specialize in Scleroderma, Which is what she has. When we checked in the personal at the check in window was very professional and prompt at her job. She was nice and pleasant to deal with. We were taken into talk to the nurses within 15 minutes. After we talked to the nurses it was a three hour wait to get to a room to get checked. I do not consider this a problem because it is not as if we had an appointment, we just walked in. Once we got to the back the nurses and the doctor were prompt. They took her right away to do an ultrasound to confirm or deny what the problem was. The total time we spent at the ER was about 5 hours and we had a prescription to the drug store of her choice and an answer for a solution. This place is an excellent ER, if I could give them a 10 star I would. read more

This is the 2nd time in a week I been here for unexplained bleeding that has been going on for almost 60 days the nurses in the er take whoever they deem is more important and makes others who are in pain wait until the later hours. When asked how much longer to go back and be seen the answer always seems to be we don't have any beds. So I'm just suppose to sit outside in the waiting area in pain and bleeding while y'all get to relax and take your time this is not fair and not acceptable. read more

I fainted while driving my car. Through the Grace of God I ran a red light and ended up in a field next to Buffalo Road without hitting another car or being injured myself. The staff at Johnston County Hospital was very caring and professional. I was in the emergency room briefly and then was admitted for tests on my heart. I am 63 years old. The Doctor told me that the tests were normal-and that I needed to wear a heart monitor for 30 days. So maybe the monitor will record the reason why it happened. The Doctors say I should not drive. I agree with them... but when they told me I was upset. I live out in the country. After I was told this I behaved poorly. I want to thank everyone there ....and I want to apologize for my behavior. this hospital ordered a $400 pick-up order from Hibachi USA, a local small family-run business, and never paid or picked it up. every time they received a call about it, they hung up. ew. at least the restaurant gave the abandoned food to the local fire department. read more

This place is absolutely horrible. The case workers at the Smithfield location Lisa and Andrea are horrible human beings. They are rude, bully's, and Andrea placed an actual threat on my voicemail harassing me at which I will be sharing with an attorney. My father has Alzheimer's and it has been beyond stressful and I definitely do not deserve to be talked to like a dog. These two women should never be allowe to be around patients or their families ever again. I understand you have a job to do, but this was outrageous behavior. Even the people at Adult Protective Services and the Division of Social Services advised me these women have a long track record of bullying. A doctor at the hospital who was caring for my Father told me another room had complained about these people and that he knows it's an ongoing problem that needs to be looked into. He told me Andrea is the boss of that department and I played the voicemail she left me for him. How and why is all I can ask over and over. I cannot understand how a hospital that is supposed to care for people and have understanding for what people are going through would have these women on their payroll. Shame on you. I will continue to search for answers to why this is happening so that it doesn't happen to anyone else. Absolutely disgusting. By the way Johnston Health. Why are you not looking at your 2.5 review rating and figuring out where the issues are and fixing it? Come in with leg pain and a history of blood clots sends me to do and ultrasound after the ultrasound came back negative the DR. (DR RONALD E) just basically gave up on me wrote me a prescription for naproxen after i had told him i had been taking naproxen and it wasnt helping told him 5 times the pain wasnt in my joints still wanted to continue to ask if the pain was in any other joints... Its not even in the first joint why would it be in any other joints. Then baiscally called me lazy and told me my leg just needed to be stretched... I walk over 5 miles a day my leg doesnt need to bw stretched. Then after I requested it to be xrayed incase it was a stress fracture dr. Came back after x-ray and says "its just kind of a mystery at this point" as if i wasnt aware of that already ... The "mystery" pain is the whole point i sat here for 4 hours for you to write me and my balloon sized leg off as if i were faking. DO NOT EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS HOSPITAL FIND SOMEWHERE THAT ACTUALLY CARES. read more
