Dr Ward is not only kind and friendly but he always does such a great job explaining everything to me and my kids so they do a good job wearing their rubber bands and retainers. His professionalism falls short. :) This was the first time seeing Dr. Joe in the 7 years of visiting this office, and by far THE worst Dr. there. I want to start this by saying that I did have to reschedule a few times. I fully understand that…read morethis is an annoyance, but in my defense I am a teacher, it was towards the end of the school year, I also coach baseball, and I had little control over the things that led me to have to reschedule. However, because of my rescheduling, Dr. Engler would no longer be willing to extract my tooth and referred me somewhere else to have it done. I choose Ledge Rock because I had heard good things and was impressed with the Dentist I had worked with during my initial visit. However, I had a bad tooth, went back in, found out my initial dentist had left, and they only have one dentist on staff. X-rays were done on the tooth, was told no root canal was necessary, that it was a cavity that could be fixed and crowned. After a week I was still in pain, any pressure on that tooth caused a shooting pain, went back in and was told that now I needed to have a root canal. Great, now I was out the money I had spent on the original fix, and now I had to spend more money to have the tooth fixed (she did say "I mentioned that it might need a root canal" well, great, but maybe you should have made sure before I need to now drop $2000 to fix this). She offered to replace the crown that she had initially put on the tooth that now had to be removed because of the root canal needed. This was in February, I have not been able to get the root canal because I don't have the money for it. Two months ago I broke a tooth, went in, scheduled an extraction, but as mentioned, had to reschedule a few times, went in today to finally have it taken care of (I had to make the decision between the two teeth and the one in the most pain won out) and was told that she was not going to do it, and they were going to refer me to someone else. Reason why? I reschedule too many times. Fine, I'm going to another dentist. I would not recommend them. I am now having to drop another $1000 on a tooth that was not fixed to begin with, and because of another tooth issue, I have to choose between the two and being able to also pay my bills. Thanks. Follow-up/Addition: Just to add to my review, the office staff, or at least the one I spoke to, deserves a negative review. Not only were they disrespectful, but they also provided false information (they lied). She stated that the only reason the dentist was going to remove the broken tooth was because "I was going on vacation." Not true for two reasons. First I'm a teacher and we had three weeks left of school, and two, though I did have to drive out to California that was an unplanned trip do to a friends accident (which occurred the last day of school and I left two days later. I have documented hard copy proof of this. I went in two days after the tooth was broken, was provided options for the fix in house and the cost of each, and had an appointment the following week to have it done.

Their office was very clean, warm, and inviting. Everyone from the tech taking x-rays, the hygienist, and the dentist were AMAZING. If there are any concerns in your scans, they make sure they physically show you what they're looking at and explain in detail what their plan for attack is. The dentist office can be a stressful place for many people, but their staff made the experience so calm and collaborative, and I will recommend them to anyone looking for maintenance, care, and who might have anxiety visiting a dentist.
