Nice peaceful quite base. Staying here for the weekend visiting my good friend and her daughter. The area is beautiful. Fresh snow and makes the area look like a postcard or calendar for Month of December. The homes are spacious and she has a big lawn area on the side of her house. Perfect for caroline to play on during the summer. The guards are friendly... They let me stay inside to keep warm while I waited for my friend at the gate.

Beautiful view of the Potomac River.

I really liked having my company's first annual picnic here! There was a basketball court and plenty of open green space that allowed us to set up and play volleyball, cornhole, dodgeball, and kickball. Let's not forget the dunk tank with executive leadership sitting in it ;) Just to be clear, the dunk tank does not come with the territory. LOL There were plenty of tables covered by awnings that kept me and my coworkers cool while eating, talking, and playing games. And of course, the best part were the grills for us to cook on... because who wants to go to a picnic without food??? The views are absolutely amazing. You have a great view of the Potomac River and you get to see planes and helicopters galore. Both military aircraft as well as planes from Reagan National Airport. My mother used to take me to the air show every year as a child, so this brought back childhood memories. The logistics for entry into the air base require a little patience, but it's worth it. Everyone's personal information had to be collected in advance and submitted to security at the base. Once your information is on file, you can enter the base with ease by showing your driver's license or state ID. Many of my coworkers drove their cars to the base. Which reminds me... there is ample parking! My coworkers and I all were pretty much unanimous with our opinions on how great this venue is. I would not mind us returning here next year.

I've been there a few times. No so many thins to do there but they have a nice park with pavilions, playgrounds, and a nice view. Commissary size is pretty average but exchange is really small. You can't enjoy shopping here much. There is MWR but no USO. Their thrift shop reopened the other day. It seems very popular. I really like the decorations behind the main gate. Check it out yo!

This base has the worst visitors center. I've been waiting for like an hour and a half and they're not prioritizing who got here first.

The IRS has a reputation that can feel overwhelming, and I chose to complete my Offer in Compromise on my own instead of hiring a CPA or accountant--which made it even more stressful and time-consuming. Throughout the process, I had a lot of questions and moments of uncertainty, but R. Tate was absolutely incredible. She was patient, kind, and took the time to answer every question I had without ever making me feel like a burden. Even when things got complicated and I had to go through the appeals process--which ultimately ended in my favor--she continued to support me and guide me. What truly meant the most to me was that she went out of her way, even calling me after hours (despite being two hours ahead), just to personally let me know that my application had been approved. I was in tears. That moment meant everything to me. I know the IRS can get a bad reputation, but R. Tate is one of those rare people who genuinely cares and goes above and beyond to help others. Her compassion, professionalism, and dedication made a very stressful situation feel manageable, and I will always be grateful for that. Thank you, R. Tate. I truly appreciate you more than words can express.

I recently got a notice from the IRS saying that I owe " X" amount of money. The thing is though is that I paid my taxes when I amended them in February and they took out my money from my bank account. I get a letter saying that I owe the same amount that I paid initially the only difference is that they added 34 cents on the IRS end. So all these guys really coming after me over 34 cents perhaps ? I wanted to call and correct them on this because I'm being held hostage about paying my taxes yet again before a certain deadline or I'll be paying more interest for something that they should see in their own account that they took out of mine. Unfortunately there is no one to call and navigating the phone call it's like walking on eggshells . I want to say I've tried about 50 times to call the IRS and I was unable to get a hold of a single human. Overall, I know I will get this money back one way or another. Maybe one day we will be like all other countries where we don't need to pay for having to get our taxes filed and like most modern countries do. Whatever happened to those 86,000 agents that you hired last year that you're not talking about this year? Did he all get laid off because of AI taking their jobs? Do better! Oh! And Taxation is theft

We hired multiple contractors and NONE of them felt safe to use the ladder Stephan sold us. When we made Stephan aware, he told us both that "he is an attorney" (he told us this multiple times) and that we should "paint rusted brackets" and also to "Please text picture of bracket before and after painting!" - we have these records in text format. So his solution for contractors not feeling safe climbing 40ft high to hang Christmas lights on a rusty ladder is to paint over the unsafe parts. It's all in the text message records! I won't be hiring him as my attorney any time in the future...

If you try calling, the lines are often so congested that it can take hours for a call to finally go through. It's even worse with email; one time I emailed them a question, and they didn't even reply for three months. When they finally did, they actually admitted that they hadn't been checking their emails and were only just then starting to respond to them--it's unbelievably irresponsible for a government body. This slowness extends to everything, especially renewals like for patents or trademarks. It takes them months, or almost a year, just to review the files you upload, only to then tell you they're not sufficient, which kicks off a long, frustrating, back-and-forth process. It's that classic type of bureaucracy, just like the DMV, where they know we need them more than they need us, so they have zero motivation to provide good customer service or improve their painfully slow processes and systems. Their satellite offices are so inaccessible we have to make appointments which may need to be booked weeks if not months or else they dont allow you on the govt property.

Updated Review:…read more Since my last review of the TSA, I've come to accept what happened because if I add up the number of negative experiences I've had with TSA, with the number of times I've traveled over the years, it still adds up to 1. I understand the intent behind my negative experience and it's a little price to pay for knowing I'm secure in a metal tube flying the friendly skies. I would have liked to be reimbursed for damages however, it is what it is and it gave me an excuse to finally go out and buy a new carry on piece of luggage. Anyway - Global Entry allows me to bypass the long security lines when flying and though the agents aren't always the friendliest bunch, it's not like I'm there trying to make friends. They're doing their job and their job is to keep passengers and flight crews safe. Too bad they can't stop people from being assholes which is probably why some of the TSA agents aren't as friendly as they can be. Sure, there's a lot of negativity surrounding this agency and their agents. Easy targets considering how much contact they have with the public. Can't make everyone happy but at least I know I am. For the most part.
