Months ago I came to this same DMV location to update my address. At that time, a staff member told me that my vehicle registration address could not be updated until my driver's license address was updated. I followed those instructions and later renewed my vehicle registration online. However, my new registration and decals never arrived in the mail. When I came back to the DMV to investigate the issue, a teller initially tried to charge me a replacement fee without actually looking into the underlying problem. After explaining the situation and speaking with a manager, I was told the issue was my fault for not updating my address, even though I had previously tried to resolve this at the same location and followed the instructions given to me by staff. After waiting a significant amount of time and explaining the situation multiple times, another teller finally looked deeper into the system and discovered that two separate DMV customer accounts had been created for me. My driver's license record and my vehicle registration were attached to different profiles, which caused my address update not to apply correctly and likely contributed to the registration not being sent to the correct place. Because of this, I had to spend a long time waiting at the DMV while the issue was investigated and corrected, time that could have been avoided if someone had simply taken the time to listen and check the system earlier. I do appreciate the teller who ultimately identified the duplicate account issue and helped correct it. However, the overall experience was unnecessarily stressful and time-consuming due to poor communication and lack of initial investigation. I hope this feedback helps improve the process so future customers do not have to spend hours resolving an issue that could have been prevented. The woman who made this most difficult was sitting at window number six with long dark hair either Spanish/Indian it is around 2:11 PM on3/11/26. She did not care to hear anything regarding and was very rude/nasty attitude.

I consulted the DMV website to look up all the…read morenecessary paperwork needed so I would only have to make ONE TRIP because the DMV is infamous for stating "everything you need" online & then stating something completely different or additional in person, resulting in multiple trips, excess time off of work/out of your day, incredible wait times & major frustration! This location is tucked inside the American Legion & is literally a folding table located in their main event room. I thought I walked into the wrong place, as did others behind me, but it's small size was super nice & it was epic to have no line! The person who assisted me was very nice & friendly ~ She's was 5 stars! And the convenience of being able to make an appointment & be seen right away ~ again 5 stars! And being located in close proximity to me ~ another 5 stars! The DMV gets only 1 star because of all the BS involved but it's not this location's fault, it's the way the DMV rolls. I had made an appointment & was confident that I had everything I needed to complete my transaction. Sure enough, I sat down & the lady said I needed another piece of information that was not listed on the website! What does that mean... It means that I could not complete my transaction! It means that I took off time/leave from work and drove somewhere unnecessarily! And it means that I now have to go back & do it all over again! Frustrating to say the least!!! BUT this location itself is 5 stars & I would highly recommend.

I'm a big fan of libraries. Love 'em. And this new location…read morefor the Kingstowne branch of the Fairfax County Public Library system has got some upsides over the old branch at Landsdowne plaza. Buuuut it's also got some aspects that make me go 'whaaaa?' Sunday hours - great. Bigger and roomier and far more natural light - great. More seating - great. Green roof - love it. The library opened a little over a week ago, and an elevator was out of order? I assume that'll be up and running soon? There's an entrance on the ground floor, but it's locked? In the children's section, there's a ledge that looks like a big slide. Kids were playing on it. There are signs that say don't sit or slide on the window ledge. Don't make a fixture that looks like a slide *in the children's section* if it's not to be used that way. Also, signage in the parking garage says to park on the 2nd floor for the library entrance. You enter, go up a level, park, enter .... that's not the library entrance. You're actually supposed to keep going up in the garage, park in the roof. THAT's the parking garage entrance level to the library. Aesthetically, I like the library. I like the expanded hours. But some signage and design choices leave me a bit flummoxed. 3.33 stars

I was amazed at the self checkout and the free hiking kits with state park pass to use for free. Most of the books I looked for were checked out or unavailable. Books were priced at $3 but you could purchase a bag of books for $7 after 2 pm. I found a book I was looking for on Irish nationalism and other books. The staff was very pleasant and helpful in assisting me. I noticed most books were new and in good condition in the library. The library was clean, and the new books displayed were impressive. Finding this library was east to drive to, find, and park at despite the busy traffic in the area. Definitely a library I will visit in the future.

We hired multiple contractors and NONE of them felt safe to use the ladder Stephan sold us. When we made Stephan aware, he told us both that "he is an attorney" (he told us this multiple times) and that we should "paint rusted brackets" and also to "Please text picture of bracket before and after painting!" - we have these records in text format. So his solution for contractors not feeling safe climbing 40ft high to hang Christmas lights on a rusty ladder is to paint over the unsafe parts. It's all in the text message records! I won't be hiring him as my attorney any time in the future...

If you try calling, the lines are often so congested that it can take hours for a call to finally go through. It's even worse with email; one time I emailed them a question, and they didn't even reply for three months. When they finally did, they actually admitted that they hadn't been checking their emails and were only just then starting to respond to them--it's unbelievably irresponsible for a government body. This slowness extends to everything, especially renewals like for patents or trademarks. It takes them months, or almost a year, just to review the files you upload, only to then tell you they're not sufficient, which kicks off a long, frustrating, back-and-forth process. It's that classic type of bureaucracy, just like the DMV, where they know we need them more than they need us, so they have zero motivation to provide good customer service or improve their painfully slow processes and systems. Their satellite offices are so inaccessible we have to make appointments which may need to be booked weeks if not months or else they dont allow you on the govt property.
