I decided to give them a peek myself, as I am trying to get back into a regular gym membership. I signed up for a free trial online and literally within a minute or two I received a call, haha. Talk about promptness! When I got a chance later on, I went to the gym to experience it. I love the massage area and I appreciate that they have WiFi -- it's essential when trying to listen to online music and the mobile network isn't always reliable. The layout is straightforward and every section has the disinfectant spray and towels. Their rules are clearly displayed and from the crowd everyone seems to conduct themselves pretty well. The locker room is very clean, and while I didn't use one during my visit, there are plenty to choose from -- even some smaller ones near the front. There are two desks near the front, and each one has hand sanitizer. There's also a dispenser next to the front entrance. I really like that you need to be able to scan in to enter, and you get penalized if you let people tail you. It's my first time entering a gym like that, and it's a nice sense of security. And every member gets a free towel and water bottle to use during their session -- nice! FYI, basic membership does not include the classes (they're $15 each otherwise). I do wish there was more hand sanitizer throughout the entire gym and not just in the front, but otherwise I think the spot is a great deal and worth exploring.

So far it hasn't been crowded weight area. There are quite a few pieces of cardio equipment. All in all, I'd say the gym has all you need. Maybe the equipment isn't new, but it appears to be clean and well maintained. The locker room decor is better than average with glass doors on the showers and shelves and hooks in and around the showers. The recovery zone is very relaxing. Updated 3/1/26. Ok, I've come back to give the whole truth that I was reluctant to share. I was being greedy and didn't want to share, but you guys deserve to know. Workout Anytime uses the very B E S T chair massagers and Hydromassage tables I've tried anywhere. One negative: I saw a man walk out of the sauna literally dripping with sweat. He walked directly to the massage chair and sat down. When he was done, he did not wipe down the equipment. I use the wipes before AND after using the equipment. You might like to too. I have a lot of gym experience, and this Lanham location is a solid choice. I currently belong to several gyms and frankly, Anytime Workout is my preferred gym, over Planet Fitness, the YMCA, and LA Fitness. From what I've seen, Gold's is a joke. The first membership I would drop is LA Fitness. All the employees at this Lanham location are very kind and the clientele is very supportive of other members. They are providing a great community and I'm sure you'll fit right in. I hope this helps with your decision-making process. No matter which gym you join, make sure you FULLY understand their billing and cancellation policies.

Wonderful community -- supportive and friendly staff and other gym goers are motivating. Today, my kid was turned away because the kids club was at capacity due to poor planning, crappy ratios and the staff's inability to look at the schedule, look at who's registered for classes, look at who in those classes has a kid's membership and go from there. When I raised concerns with the staff and front desk, I was met with attitude and told to call guest services if I need help. This was what Ivan said after he said "we can remove the service for you right here" before he doubled down and threw a card on the counter and told me to call guest services. Additionally, one of the inept employees in the kids club, misidentified me as the parent who cussed her out and was hostile. I wasn't hostile - I made a few faces and asked specific, pointed questions. Y'all can't handle it because you don't know how to work under pressure and weren't given talking points? Fine. Be mad then, sis. Don't care. So, Ivan wanted to play savior and "write my name down" so that he could "determine what to do." FOH. Don't get mad at me when I ask legitimate questions about your policies that are not posted. Further, when you elevate your voice, don't get mad at me when I do the same. I have never had a positive experience here with the management team. I have filed multiple complaints and addressed multiple concerns and have never been followed up with. Ever. I have already requested cancellation of both of my memberships, and a refund. This gym is a hot mess. The management team is terrible. Spare yourself. And they're anti-Black American. I've had multiple experiences that demonstrate that: -no acknowledgment of Juneteenth in similar ways as July 4, despite it being a majority Black club -prior to opening, the guy whose last name is Tillman spoke about the fact that they don't have a gym because "this is PG COUNTY and all the thugs would show up sagging" -ongoing interactions I've witnessed and experienced between myself and the management team

The choice of equipment offered, alone, at Gold's is incomparable to the other so-called local gyms, including L.A. Fitness. My ONLY reason for NOT giving THIS Gold's gym 5 stars is because it has a sauna instead of a steam room; I HATE the smell and feel of dry heat that comes from a sauna. Sauna always smells like a mixture of sweat, balls and butt to me - a man with a hyper-sensitive sense of smell - so give me the many benefits of being in a steam room after an intense workout ANYday of the week over a putrid sauna!!

I joined the gym in February, but shortly after, I moved just Forty-five minutes away-- I was expecting a simple process to cancel and switch to a more convenient location. I contacted ABC Fitness (the billing provider), and they informed me I needed to reach out to the gym directly to cancel. When I called Gold's Gym, I was shocked to learn that the only way to cancel is in person at the gym. I explained clearly that I no longer live in the area and asked if I could cancel via email or phone. I was told flat-out NO, with NO Exceptions and Zero Willingness to help. Despite informing them that I had moved and no longer intended to use the gym, they continued charging my account. This is unacceptable and feels like a deliberate strategy to trap members and keep billing them. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and contacting my bank to block any further charges from this location. Terrible customer service. Outdated and inflexible policies. Avoid at all costs.

Perhaps this is why, even in the crosswalk, you too can have an invigorating rush as your life flashes before your eyes in the stark headlights of a metro bus who never heard of a brake! Finally, enjoy the amenities in the aquatic center two informational desks down in a basement where lockers require $1.00 in coins. Quarters to be exact! Because why not! You've paid for a membership and/or a class, why not pay for the nostalgia of loose change! Who needs the year 2026?! Extroverts, this is the spot. Introverts, you will feel overwhelmed and wonder what fresh hell did you step in, probably try to power through until the pesky locker thwarts all defenses. You'll throw your hands up and peace tf out and say to yourself, yep I shall stick to the aquatic centers only. More manageable.
