With the help of my wife (boss), I found Dr. Baradi after four cases of (chronic acute smoldering…read moreuncomplicated) diverticulitis in 2018. Three of those flare-ups required multi-day hospitalizations, so the attending physician recommended I follow-up with my GP for a surgical referral. Having read close to 50 internationally peer-reviewed research papers about diverticulitis, conservative and liberal treatments, surgical options and risks, I learned that colorectal surgeons and researchers do not have consensus on a recommended course of treatment for my form of diverticulitis. This made me panic a bit, so I set out to get answers. The first surgeon I met with, in Norman, refused to provide me with a recommended course of treatment, even when I begged for answers. To be fair, this guy answered all of my questions, but fell short in the end because I left his office with even more confusion and fear. We're a litigious society, so I get it, but leaving without answers is immensely frustrating. On the drive back from Norman, my wife found Dr. Baradi. She mentioned that both his residency and fellowship were with Cleveland Clinic (one of the best, if not THE best colorectal research and treatment facility in the U.S.), so we called my GP for another referral, and scheduled an appointment ASAP. From the moment we arrived at Dr. Baradi's office, every nurse and staff member personified patience, kindness, understanding and was willing to answer any and all questions. Dr. Baradi doesn't exactly come across as an extrovert, but if you come prepared to ask questions - and listen closely to his answers - you'll find that his answers are concise, honest, well-measured and well-informed... It's pretty obvious Dr. Baradi spends plenty of time reviewing patient charts, because he came in with a full understanding of my medical history. A few of the reviewers on other sites were turned off by Dr. Baradi's introverted personality. Not me. I found him to be a calming presence, gentle, caring, patient, thorough, professional, focused, and willing to be an advocate for patients. Now one week removed from surgery, I've been following all of Dr. Baradi's post-op recommendations: plenty of walking, return to diet (start with smaller portions), don't mess with the surgical site, lots of hydration, don't go crazy with the pain meds, and avoidance of bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting and straining. Don't get me wrong, because this surgery (removing most of the sigmoid colon followed by resection) is not easy. There are significant risks, and the first couple days involve lots of pain - even with pain management medication (much less so if the anesthesiologist-delivered "pain block" works well, but mine was only marginally effective), but Integris Baptist Medical Center's nurses and staff are top notch (I was put in the care of the 9-East team). These men and women not only extremely gifted at nursing, but seem to genuinely care about treating patients like human beings. With feelings. And needs. And fears. And families. Not being treated like a commodity is refreshing, to say the least, so I'm extremely happy with the Integris team. That said, Dr. Baradi did his part extremely well, and I'm free from excessive pain, complications and infection... So far, so good, and if all continues to go well, I'll never again have to worry about sigmoid diverticula messing with my otherwise decent health.

There was no patient privacy, I heard everything for both neighbors. The anesthesiologist was the worst I've ever encountered. Bedisde & professionalism. If this was my first colonoscopy, I would never return for another anywhere. Having had several, I know better care exists. To top it off, I paid a huge fee up front and received a huge bill after the fact, neither have I ever encountered previously on the same insurance.

During my pregnancy, I was experiencing severe nausea and vomiting that ultimately turned out to be hyperemesis gravidarum. At the time, I was struggling to maintain my job due to the severity of my symptoms. When I tried to explain what I was experiencing, the staff member seemed dismissive, stating that sickness during pregnancy is normal and expressing doubt that accommodation paperwork would be approved. The response felt insensitive and did not reflect the seriousness of my condition. Another concern was the wait time. On multiple occasions, I waited over an hour before being seen, so I would recommend planning accordingly for appointments. Lastly, I was surprised to receive a bill for my initial appointment nearly a year later, after my baby was already almost four months old. The delayed billing created unnecessary confusion and frustration. While I appreciate Dr. Mills and the care she provided, I believe there is room for improvement in patient communication, office efficiency, and billing practices.
