I haven't gotten a hair cut here but I did get it colored. I would just like everyone to know that Angus is a godsend. It was my first time getting my hair colored that wasn't highlights (although I just got my bangs done this time). I asked him for a gray/silver shade. He gave me some sample colors to choose from so that we both know what I wanted. I was nervous because it was an unusual color to get and he had to bleach my hair twice because it's so dark. Angus (and the girls) let me know what he was doing for each step of the way. He made sure that my gray/silver-dyed hair looked blended so that it wouldn't look blocky and amateur-ish when it grew out. (It grew out great.) He also told me that he put a blue pigment (which was subtle and unnoticeable after a few washes) so that my hair wouldn't look yellow because lighter shades (blonds, whites, grays) start to look yellow because of pollution and other factors. I loved it. I was so happy and it's all thanks to Angus that I am willing to try out more bold colors. I wish I could go back to Burlington just to have him do my hair because some people are just not up to par. (I am writing this late because I had a bad experience recently and Joli's Hair Salon page wasn't up when I got my hair done.) I got probably one of the worst cuts here. I wanted a cute short haircut that would have been as easy as trimming the style that had grown out over the past two months. Instead, i ended with triangle head. You know it...I'm sure you've seen it on too many suburban soccer moms. That was the unfortunate cut I had to push back with sunglasses and cover with hats until it grew out enough to get cut again. read more

I needed a haircut after going to 3 previous places (first place had no more time to take customers, second place was closing soon, third place wanted me to come back in 30 minutes so I never came back after 30 minutes). I just needed my hair to be mostly buzzed and a simple 3, 2, 1. I know I sounded sassy when saying if I could get a hair cut TODAY because the other places wanted me to make appointments for another day. No, I want one today, please, and thank you! I walked in and within 2 minutes was getting my hair cut and done in about 15 minutes or so. Would come here again for quick service and a good price. No to $30 haircuts at some places. read more

I got a great cut and very friendly welcoming and conversation from Grace, my stylist. The studio seemed clean and well kept. The overall atmosphere could use some friendly, uplifting, smiles and attitude, but I will certainly go back to Grace again! read more

I had search many places to cut my hair , my husband told me to try it here so here I come , the staffs are really friendly and polite. I could not remember my hairdresser's name. Got a cut with Jessica, she was great! Have had mixed results with other people here, so I'd recommend her specifically.

I've tried the more expensive hair salons in Burlington with mediocre results, and Joli has given me far better haircuts at a fraction of the price. I've had my hair cut and colored with Ashley, who does a great job and gives me useful hair care tips, and I'm always satisfied with the results. I can't speak for the other hair stylists who work there since I've only seen Ashley, but my friends go there for "cheap" haircuts and are always happy with the outcome. My only complaint is their poor customer service via the phone (which is often hasty and sometime rude) and their lack of attention to customers waiting at the front desk. All and all it's a place to get a decent hair cut for a reasonable price. read more

Having had the same stylist for about 25 years in RI, I knew it would be hard to fill his shoes here in VT. Also, as an older (old?) woman with short hair, I appear to be an anomaly up here. First time here made an appointment and got an excellent hair cut. Later, made an appointment 10 days in advance for the day before I left on a business trip. Showed up at the appointed time and was told I couldn't be accommodated because of too many walk-ins and they were behind. Told me to reschedule for another day which was impossible because I was leaving on a business trip the next day. When I asked how they could guarantee another appointment if I made one, they had no answer. And no apology. Wound up getting a good hair cut at a nearby barber shop instead. I was being spontaneous so I went here. They told me ten minutes, I waited 30 to have someone who came after me be taken care of first. I watched that person come in debate whether to do it or not, write down name, go for a walk, and come back and taken ahead of me because they don't have their business organized. Also, when I mentioned what happened, the lady was rude and unprofessional about it. Only recommend if you're doing something simple and also have the time and patience to deal with this type of stuff. read more

My 12 yo has been crying all night. She went here with long beautiful hair and asked for 2 inches off with simple long layers. She left with at least 4 inches gone and short layers all over her head!! She got the hair cut of a 50 yo in the 90's!! It is incredibly distressful! Never go here! read more

I went to get my hair trimmed here, this past weekend. I had very long hair, roughly down to my belly button that I was absolutely in love with. It had been two years since I had had a haircut, so I figured it was time to get a trim. I went in on a whim, and am still regretting it now. I talked to the stylist and asked her to cut four inches off. She agreed, and showed me exactly where my hair would come down to. I made it VERY clear that I wanted to keep my hair long, because I loved having long hair. I also made it extremely clear that I was required to put my hair in a ponytail for work. The second she finished the cut, I burst out crying. I was absolutely mortified, and so uncomfortable. My hair is now shoulder length, and I've never been more dissatisfied with a haircut. She took over TEN INCHES off of my hair, after agreeing to the four inches, and showing me that it would hit halfway down my forearms. I can't even put it up into a pony tail, it's too short. I am extremely displeased with this salon, and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. My sister went in the day before (her hair was a few inches shorter than mine, originally) and wanted something drastically different, and much shorter. I went in, asking for a trim. We now have identical haircuts, exactly the same shape and length. It seems the stylist lacked the ability to do anything but this short, layered look. It will take at least 6 months to get my hair back to the length that I wanted it cut to originally. I'm so incredibly upset and disappointed by this salon. I would give it zero stars if I could. read more
