It's beautiful and old and gaudy, has an old pipe organ perched high in the back balcony, and has become the pillar of what churches are 'supposed' to look like. It's made it so, every time I go into one of those acoustic guitar playing, super modern churches with skylights, my heart aches for this place. Also, i really love that the school was built in a time that "Nailers" would still be considered an acceptable mascot.

The words, "I will go in to the altar of God. To God, the joy of my youth", taken from the Latin Mass came to mind. Of course, this raises the question why there is no Latin Mass in this magnificent house of God. The photographs depict the beauty of this church more than words ever could. This church has a traditional high altar with embedded statues of Saint Joseph and the Blessed Virgin. One could spend hours gazing into the sanctuary at St. Joseph's.

It's just a parking lot. But when we walked in the door, we were blown away. It's a beautiful space! Detailed stained glass windows all around. The stations of the cross were very detailed and nice to look at. Even the details in the ceiling were well thought out. We spent quite a while before, during and after the prayer service just taking it all in. Today, was my son's first visit to a cathedral. He met the Bishop today on his journey to making his Confirmation. He kept talking about the architecture and the lighting. He was impressed too. Their choir was literally music to my ears. They sang so sweetly and I couldn't help but close my eyes at one point to enjoy it. If you have a chance to visit, you should. It was a perfect, spiritual experience.
