Before choosing to work with Tidal Loans, consumers deserve to know what to expect. Once the buyer…read morewas committed to the loan process, communication became extremely difficult. Loan terms and fees changed, deadlines were repeatedly missed, and dozens of emails, calls, and texts went unanswered. The transaction ultimately closed more than three weeks past the original contract date, creating unnecessary stress for buyers, sellers, agents, and title company involved. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of respect shown throughout the process. There seemed to be little understanding -- or concern -- that there are actual humans involved in these transactions. Buyers and sellers are making major life decisions, money is tied up, legal liabilities are involved and professionals are left trying to manage chaos with little to no communication from the lender. Buyers - keep in mind - that YOU are legally obligated to the terms of your purchase contract regardless of lender delays. Working with a lender that does not communicate or perform in a timely manner can put you in a very difficult position. Our experience with Tidal Loans was frustrating, exhausting, and highly unprofessional. I would strongly encourage anyone considering them to do extensive research and proceed with caution.
