Jon Kapity was highly recommended to me through Northern Strings Piano Services, Dennis Hankinson, a piano instructor, tuner and repair. As of March, 2016, I was completely 'new' to music. I began with piano then initiated acoustic guitar in November. Jon is very thorough, very knowledgeable, has good organization with a plan, is dedicated, flexible and patient, in addition to hard working. Any student success depends upon student participation. Jon is very motivational and supportive. His goal is to help his students achieve success. read more

Established in 2011.

What began as a request from family friends to teach their children how to play the guitar developed into a full time business in teaching, training, mentoring, and coaching students of all ages in learning to play the guitar and bass.

Meet the Business Owner: Jon K.

My life long passions have been for guitar, music, and business. I received my very first guitar at the age of 13 years old and have been studying, playing, and improvising ever since with over 26 years of experience. I trained under some of the finest Guitarists in the Chicagoland area: Dave Uhrich, Eric Mantel, Toshi Iseda, and Tom Hess. I have performed as lead guitarist on worship teams for over 14 years, currently at Kenosha Bible Church. As the lead guitarist of Aural Groove, I recorded under industry pro Michael Charles of Moonlight Studios. As lead singer and guitarist of Manna (an acoustic duo) I recorded under Rex Carroll of Whitecross. I believe in a geometric approach for developing guitarists. This approach continually alternates topics of focus and approaches each topic from multiple angles to quickly enhance the learning curve. I believe "It is very important to set the proper foundational skills in a fun and exciting way!

I visited the location in the village of Mount Pleasant (near Racine, WI) to check out their 8-acre corn maze. The theme this year is the Loch Ness Monster, but I wouldn't let the theme influence you either way as it did not have a significant impact on the experience. The maze is divided up into different sections/quadrants that can easily be identified by different colored (blue, yellow, white, and green) strips running throughout the maze. The colors don't ruin the level of difficulty; they simply let you know that you are progressing into the next section and are really something of a safety measure. I moved at a relatively brisk pace and was unencumbered by small children. That said, it took me approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes to complete, walking roughly three miles. I thought it was a neat experience, and it gave me a nice touch of nostalgia as I haven't done a corn maze since I was a kid. I recommend checking it out, but I think it would be challenging to do at night or with children requiring a stroller as the ground is obviously dirt and not even. *Also make sure to use the restroom prior to entering
