I started seeing Dr Koning after my twin pregnancy for chronic back pain. Dr Koning listened to my concerns after multiple Dr's told me it would correct itself at some point and wait it out. Having young twin babies at home while in so much pain isn't feasible to care for them properly, so that answer just wasn't appropriate. So my care quickly went downhill. The injections didn't work and working with Brooke on billing is a pain. My last appointment was in Oct they over charged me and owe me a huge refund and Brooke refuses to even bill my insurance and give them the correct things to process my claims. I have emailed her over 15 times asking for the information to process my claims and she WILL NOT reply with answers. I simply want to be treated fairly and receive thoughtful, safe care. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Koning's office fell short of this standard. My questions and concerns were met not with curiosity, interest or care, but with a cold, bureaucratic tone that felt impersonal and unkind. When I raised valid concerns about medication safety and poor staff follow-through, the office abruptly -- and without notice -- ended the relationship. There was no explanation and no effort at meaningful dialogue. I was simply dismissed. Dr. Koning prefers to delegate patient concerns to his staff, even when his direct involvement is specifically requested. That may work for some, but to me, it felt dismissive and uncaring. The problems seemed rooted in disorganization and a lack of accountability, not malice -- but the impact was no less harmful. Don't bother going there if you are looking for a cannabis prescription for the state of Texas. They are a ripoff. They will force you to come back quarterly or more often and want to take blood tests too. Appointment $135, blood test roughly $300. Four times a year. And then you have the hassle or having to call them each month for a new monthly allotment. Save yourself time, money, and aggravation. Schedule with Texas Cannabis Clinic instead. It's only $140 for the entire year and they also give you your annual allotment all at one time. This is so much simpler and doesn't end with the frustration I had when seeing Koning. They are nice at ReGen, just as a doctor with an office, they have to make money to support the office and do so by over-charging you. read more

I came to Dr. Koning on the advice of a family member who highly recommended this doctor as he was a former doctor for the Dallas Cowboys, so my cousin said. I was excited because my cousin raved so highly about him. The first visit was great. The doctor was attentive. He listened. He just seemed to be the doctor I ever met. I have CRPS which has yet to be treated successfully and had been an extreme pain, so much though that I tried to kill myself. I had to cancel three appointments in which I was supposed to have spinal injections and my significant other told them I was in the hospital. I made it to one injection and had the worst reaction ever to it. I passed out that night and when I reached out to the doctors office because they were supposed to contact me within a week, I never heard from them. The pain was way worse. Instead of treating me, I was told that I was being dismissed as a patient due to mismanagement of my medication of which this doctor did not prescribe to me, meaning I tried to kill myself with a medication Another doctor prescribed to me. I was Accused of treating his staff poorly, which never happened. Yes, I did leave a frustrated phone message but never once did I take anything out on his staff. Instead of reaching out to me, I got an email from his wife, who apparently is his office manager, which explains why messages are never returned. My cousin is a known drug user. If you would like to know the drug he uses I can give you his name and the drugs. this doctor knows, according to my cousin, that he uses illegal drugs. He will treat my cousin but I get kicked out, careful what you say. this office will complain to yelp and they will take your review down because Dr. Koning cannot handle a bad review. read more

I am a new patient of Dr. Koning this year. His office staff have been wonderful to work with while being in pain and getting temporary relief before my scheduled injection. I was able to get my injection last week and what a difference it is making in my daily life. The injection process was easy and quick. No burning or pain at the injection. Dr Koning is great at treating back & spinal pain & I'd highly recommend him for that. I've had chronic headaches for years & he continues to deny me any pain medication or a solution for those headaches. I believe I will have to go elsewhere for headache treatments. Strong 1st impression!!! I was seen in 4 days after Calling. Very impressed with the entire practice. The office staff was fantastic. The Dr was empathetic, informed and looking for a positive Outcome. Having been in pain for 12 years and been maintained on opioids for numerous spine problems I have never been treated so well by any physician or staff in this field. Recently I had incident in his office in November and do to him and his team rapid response and life saving treatment to intubate me and sedate me and give me life saving breathing care I would of probably died. I have been seeking treatment by him and and his staff for over 3 years. He listen and respects all of his patients. He cares about your concerns and wants to make you feel comfortable and he is very trusting. If you tell him you need to remain modest in surgery or procedures he makes sure that happens! If I ask him to stay in the OR while i am being draped/prep for surgery etc. he will do it. He will always accommodate you if he can! If need to see him he will try to get you in ASAP! He is one of the only doctors I know that actually believes what I am saying and takes the necessary action to schedule treatments, test or surgeries! If you ever have pain and kind he will help you! Even if you think pain problem is to complicated he will help you! Even you want to give up he won't! That is why even if I feel upset that I am still having issues he will keep trying to help me to improve my pain to get back to a normal life. Thanks Dr. Koning your the best!!! read more

Worst staff ever!!! Worst doctor ever!!! AND I MEAN EVER!!! I wouldn't give this a star, but you can't leave zero stars and write a review. I am in a wheel chair. First off, it's a tiny waiting room. And I mean tiny. There were 4 ahead of me and I had to wait in the atrium outside of the office. I had called ahead to let them know I was a 10+ pain level and might they have a bed to lay down. They would get me in a room in 20 minutes. An hour later...They call me to a room. My butt is in severe pain because of sitting on it for the past 4 1/2 years. I had to fill out a ton of paperwork before I came in and a bunch more when I got there. Not one staff member came over to help me move a chair so I could stay in the office. I have Medicare. A lot of doctors hate Medicare. So why they take it, who knows. This office lacks total compassion for their patients. Never, Ever go to this doctor for ANYTHING! Never in my 64 years of life have I been treated so poorly from a doctor and his staff! There are better pain centers in Plano, Frisco area. Did I drop an F bomb? Oh hell yes I did. Dr. Koning USED to be a great doctor in my opinion. After my last experience, that's changed. I came in for pain that I was having after starting a new medication that my PCP ordered. My PCP took me off the medication but the pain didn't stop. You have pain, you see the Pain Management Doctor. I was desperate, so I scheduled an appt with his Frisco office.I waited NEARLY 2 HOURS just to be seen.The person who walked in to talk to me was Dr. Koning's assistant. I've had trouble with her in the past because she is very rude.I grabbed my things and left. I still needed my refills so when I called to at least get those, they told me that Dr. Koning would not refill them until he had examined me. His next appointment was 3 weeks out.They said I couldn't see him before then because I was "disrespectful to his staff". WHERE WAS MY RESPECT WHEN I WAITED 2 HOURS FOR AN APPOINTMENT WITH MY DOCTOR?! I went to my PCP and they have since referred me to a new Pain Management Dr. Don't go here unless waiting in lines and being scoffed at by a Medical Assistant is your thing. read more
