Reached out to this clinic for pain management and assistance with a need for hip surgery. Before even receiving my records or any of my information, I received an email from Veronica that they were not a good fit for me and sent me a referral for pain clinics. Included with the referral was substance abuse clinic referrals as well. How offensive to assume that someone in pain first of all is drug seeking and second of all in need of substance abuse treatment. I would completely understand this had they received any of my treatment or medical history but they did not. Very offended and disappointed. I went here for a while, and tried their treatment plans for almost two years before I left and found a different group. It started off great, where the people were very on point and patient care was all about the patient. It started changing some time early this year though. Some red flags I saw: - Seems to have a fishy relationship with a personal injury lawyer, they verbally informed me on multiple occasions that this specific law firm is the "only one" they work with. Seems like an ethics violation? I was informed by another lawyer that this is against the Texas State Bar Association rules. To the best of my understanding, doctors and lawyers are not allowed to form exclusive business partnerships. [Update 2019-05-20] Re: manager response. To the best of my memory, I was told "this is the only lawyer we work with," and this was the exact information I was provided on at least two occasions by the front desk. I'm going to have to say I do not believe the manager's response reflects what I was told on multiple occasions. - Billing suddenly dropped a $800-1000 bill on me and claimed it was an accumulation of unpaid bills from a previous billing shop that they no longer worked with, then proceeded to threaten me with collections after I said I would like to come up with a monthly payment plan to cover this surprise bill. Huh? [Update 2019-05-20] Re: manager response. I do not believe that addresses the fact I was threatened with collections while I was attempting to set up a payment plan. That said, I should also point out that to the best of my understanding, Texas has a law requiring that providers send bills in a timely manner. This facility doesn't seem to be in compliance with that law. - I have attempted to reach them multiple times via phone during their posted normal business hours, only to get the runaround on their machines (this is even more fun when their billing department throws the word "collections" around). Getting in contact has become a hit and miss. - After a while, their "care" began feeling more like an assembly line for expensive procedures, not solutions to my pain. The last two procedures I had with them caused me so much pain I was in tears when I got home. - The "urine" test issue came up recently as well. They didn't use to do this, but they tried to press me into submitting to it at the front desk until I requested a written request directly from my treating doctor for this urine test before I would consent to it, not to mention I don't like consenting to any treatment prior to checking my insurance coverage first. Doubtless I may have ended up like another patient who posted a review here about getting some $800 bill for a urine test she didn't actually need. [Update 2019-05-20] Re: manager response. I could understand it being necessary for patients on pain medication. However, to the best of my memory, at the time of the treatment I had with this facility I was NOT prescribed pain medication during the visits they tried to force this test on me. I'm going to say I believe the manager's response was disingenuous here. - During one of the last few procedures I had with them, one of their doctors got upset with me because of the time I was scheduled for his appointment, then proceeded to provide a lot of passive aggressive commentary about irresponsible patients. Apparently the appointment time was inconvenient for him, and he made it quite clear he did not appreciate patients "acting special." He later apologized though when he realized the issue was with the front desk, and that I had simply chosen from a list of available time slots provided to me. Not the kind of attitude you want from someone digging into your back though. Needless to say, that experience has upset me to this day. [Update 2019-05-20] Re: manager response. While I'm glad to know the doctor in question may no longer be working there, I don't think this was appropriately addressed. I should mention that when the passive aggressive commentary was provided to me, I was ON the operating table during one of their in-house provided procedures. Not cool, no matter how you color it. Sad to say I actually did recommend a few people to this clinic before. Not anymore though. Not sure what happened, but I'd definitely look elsewhere for better care. This is probably one of the few facilities that I have ever felt so wronged by. I don't think this is a safe place to go for quality healthcare. read more

I first went to  Dr .East with severe Lumbar and Thoracic pain. I was missing a lot of work , not sleeping well and in constant pain. This is my follow-up review , about 2 months after having a Rhizotomy (burning away nerves) Dr East did diagnostic shots first , to ensure he was treating the correct area . The Rhizotomy itself was slightly painful , but they do offer sedation if you prefer. The first few days after the procedure , the pain would fade out sometimes, but then come back. This is the waiting process , allowing the nerve time to die off.   After about 10 days the pain went away. Completely.  I even gave my "back-zapper" away !  The entire experience, with Dr. East and his excellent staff was just great . Zero complaints, and I must add , the cost is very affordable . So glad Addison Pain was recommended to me by a family member.   5 stars  and 2 thumbs up ! read more

Mind blown from my experience with this office, management, staff, and the Dr himself. I have never felt so disrespected, judged, made assumptions of, spoken down to and rudely spoken over by staff and the Dr (via text message thru my personal cell and his....unprofessional on his end) mishandling things in a respectful and professional manner. I had previously been on medication and seeing specialist over the course of 8 years trying to find out what all is going on with my body and the neurological issues for years, and when I came to this office my previous care was under LOP's from my car wreck attorneys that covered medical toward my lawsuit. Since ALL medical is being pulled for lawsuits and disability I'm having to move forward under whatever medical care I can find to continue care, which I feel is pretty normal in this industry, and when you have my medical to date proving meds and injections and PT and other Dr's fully explaining my conditions and meds, then I should not have to defend and explain myself to anyone. They knew the meds I was on and when I started getting meds through their office I switched over to the new scripts as I no longer had refills on the narcotics prescribed and so now I'm on their new dosing cuz I was trying a new med out before I came to them and was still in that process to see what meds helped with different pain that I have. I was given attitude and judgement, rudeness, impatience and disrespect by his assistance that saw me during the visit to go over injections and meds; each time I received nothing but attitude and kept my calm and did what I was told. Both times with issues regarding attitude from the staff, Dr East messaged my personal cell phone pretty long paragraphs telling me that I am causing issues with his staff and that I need to be respectful to his staff (which I was! he did not bother to pick up phone and get my side of things at all...he just blew up my phone telling me how things are in his office) I tried to explain the truth and yet understand why I was being complained about AT ALL when I was the one being mistreated....are you kidding me with highschool immature drama.....despite my age, which is in my 40s, I am an adult and will be spoken to and treated as one, and since I called his staff and him out for such unprofessional disrespectful behavior drama and stress attached to just me even getting my meds AT ALL much less a full script and then because I took 1 extra pain pill for 2 days after I fell on my butt and lower back hurting myself, and I was only prescribed one a day so then I got put on micro managing my medication doses and scripts down to filling it once a week; I just had enough! I left a firm message but not rude just stating I will not be handled and spoken to like a child and my meds micro managed because I took an extra pill for 2 days; I've been on meds 8 years and have NEVER abused them! By the time I got in the office after the fall, yes I took more I was IN PAIN but it was 1 pill not 10...this was just an unnecessary overreaction by everyone involved. So I reached out to the office manager Emily to tell here what's been going on and that I want to see another assistant that is more respectful the next time; that I didn't sign up for all this stress and drama. I was rescheduled with Lauren, finally someone that listens, and it's just for her to tell me I'm being discharged of his care. Yet, another decision made by the Dr and Staff without calling me the patient to find out the truth, much less hear my side. I was treated very inhumanely and would never send anyone here to ever go through so much stress and humiliation when my health is hanging by a thread I simply am here to survive the least you can do is treat me like the human being that I am. read more

Went there to have PRP on the back and feet, felt worse at first which is to be expected due to the inflammation which is part of the therapy, but within 6 months later and I could say it was well worth it. Feel loads better thank to Dr East, Sylvia and the rest of the staff. Before the procedure the spine docs wanted to fuse 3 of the disc together and break my feet and reform my arches which had fallen, instead I chose PRP therapy and avoided the surgery and this is 2 years later. I recommend it before any fusion surgery or arch reshaping surgery.I believe it still improving and with proper diet and the right exercise I am living proof. read more

Well. They used to be good. They used to care about patients. They used to have a good doctor on staff. Let me give you of an example of how I am treated. I have been a patient for two years. I live one hour away from this office. On one occasion I was 5 minutes late. I called the office on my way and told them I would be late. Their response was sorry we will have to cancel your appointment. I was 45 minutes from my house. Then begrudgingly Brooke said "well I guess you can come in". I am now sitting in the waiting room for 45 minutes. I am being punished for being five minutes late. This is unacceptable behavior. I won't be back. You shouldn't go either. All they care about is the huge amounts of cash they are making by scheduling patients one on top of another. read more

I recently saw Dr. Sylvia Bugarin for my "frozen shoulder ". She did an adjustment on my whole body, my hips were out and also adjusted my neck. I felt so much better. She did trigger point injections to give me relief in my shoulder and after about a day I could move it fully!! The office staff are all extremely helpful. I was able to get in fairly quickly and they take my insurance!! This is not just a chiropractic office, thankfully if I needed further help Dr. East would've been able to do a more long term injection. I've been coming here for about a year due to various spinal issues. The office looks great, the staff is always friendly, and the doctors are some of the best I've ever met in my life. I've primarily dealt with Dr. Knutson, and I can't say enough great things about him. He's very personable, knowledgeable, and proficient at what he does. Great Doctors!! I was having issues from a previous cervical fusion 30 plus years ago. Disc below was bulging and degenerating causing pressure on the nerve. Was having arm pain and numbness in my right arm. Dr. Knutson diagnosed my problem and set a plan for treatment involving steroid injections, facet joint injections and ultimately a nerve burn. All done by Dr.East. Each treatment I would show some improvement but could not eliminate all the numbness. Knutson recommended surgery instead of continuing to treat with injections and medication. Referred me to a surgeon who specialized in Anterior Cervical. Surgery was completed and I am doing great no numbness or pain. Both very professional and honest. I came to see Dr. East after trying so many other medical treatments on my shoulder related to a sports injury. Other doctors told me I would probably need surgery if I wanted pain relief. After doing an MRI, Dr East came up with a treatment plan and after 4 weeks I'm seeing dramatic results and on my way to complete healing in my shoulder. Their office is so professional and they were able to provide me with the pain relief I needed without having to do an evasive surgery. I highly recommend their services. read more

Don't bother to leave a voice mail. The recording states that the VM is monitored frequently but the half dozen times I have left a VM, perhaps only one has been returned. Now the good part: Staff is exceptionally trained and helpful. Wait times are minimal. Need injections? Always on time and the relief is just a day or two away, at least for me. I've tried 3 other clinics, due to location (just retired) and/or having to have a drive home (even when non sedated!). Horrible customer service! I was a patient here for a few months for chronic sciatic pain. The doctor informed me she would send a referral to a neurologist. Two weeks went by and I never heard from Addison pain management or the neurologist she referred me too. I called Addison pain management back and they said they would call the neurologist to see why I haven't been scheduled yet. Well... I never heard anything else from Addison pain management nor did I ever hear from their neurologist. Very poor customer service experience. I would not recommend this place at all! Addison pain management is a great place. I'm so glad I went I saw doctor East very comforting with him he listens. I also see Sylvia PA which is also a chiropractor and she is really great, she listens and explains things to me if I have to ask again. I've had a holistic shot for my pain and it really helped. I went to Addison Pain Management when I threw my back out. They asked me to give them a urine sample, so I did. Over 4 months later I received a bill from precision diagnostics for $744.69!!!! They did not tell me they would be sending it off to a separate company to test for 29 different drugs. I came to them because I had back pain. I never gave consent for an $800 urine test!! This is insane. They won't do anything to help, other than told me it would not go on my credit if I didn't pay it. That's not right or acceptable. How am I supposed to know it won't affect my credit later? They need to tell their patients before they request the urine that they will receive an $800 bill. Absolutely nuts. Also, they were very unhelpful when I requested a ballpark idea on how much my injections would cost. The girl literally told me she had no idea. I never went for the injections because they couldn't even tell me if it would be $100 or $1000. I wasted my time and money getting an MRI. This place is a joke. Stay away!! I would give 0 stars if possible. They are not BBB accredited, so they ignored the complaint I filed. read more

Got an appointment scheduled within two days of a minor car accident, saw a nurse practitioner instead of Dr. Hess but she was wonderful, thorough, prompt, and didn't try to upsell drugs I didn't need. ZocDoc showed, booked, and then subsequently cancelled my first attempts at booking an appointment, but the office called to change the appointment time and then confirm; only problem was that I uploaded my documents (insurance etc) and most of my new patient forms online, but I had to fill out everything again upon arrival, my just signatures/dates. read more

I really get great care from my current Dr. but he is so far away, 40 miles round trip from my office. If I have to have a procedure done, that's an additional person to accompany me, very inconvenient. So I contact Dr. Hess' office, a 4 mile round trip from my office. I treat this as an interview because I'm not Dr. shopping just looking for similar good care with convenience. Initial appointment took a long time but I did get to meet with PA and Dr. Hess and felt that treatment would be as good as previous Dr. Was told that staff would contact previous Dr. to get access to medical records. Was contacted next day to hear that previous Dr. office was closed on Friday afternoon, knew this. Next week passes, no word from Dr. Hess' office. Not. One. Word. Nothing. I have premium PPO BCBS ins. and already met out of pocket. Again, nothing from Dr. Hess' office..... read more

My wife was a patient of APM. until today. I don't usually give reviews but I am very displeased. She has been in PM for back problems for years. I see it everyday. She is almost bed ridden. We have been driving 3 hours each way for about 3 years because she can't find one closer. We were going regularly for injections and requested to make the appointments on the same day. They couldn't seem to get that right so we were going twice a month. It was all ok until all the sudden the insisted she stop taking her sleep meds that she has been taking for most of her life. She was threatened that if she didn't quit she would be dismissed. She went all through Christmas unable to sleep. Her appointment was setup for the 30th day so we had to go that day or she would be out of meds. The day before we were scheduled to go she got a call from them about injections that we knew nothing about. We were also informed that it was for injections only that we would have to come back on Monday for refills that they had no record of our Friday appointment. What kind of place is it that gives you a 30 day prescription and then an appointment for 33 days later. This is why she got her sleep meds refilled to help with the sickness and misery that was about to take place over the next few days. They told her to go to the hospital if she got sick. When we went she was dismissed for noncompliance. The fault was on their side for not keeping her 30 day appointment forcing her run of meds. Went to that Monday appointment and they told us she was dismissed. They cut her from 90mg to 60mg and made an appointment for 2 weeks to cut her to 30mg. Today we went for that visit and was told that we didn't have an appointment. I had the appointment card. She was seen by the Dr. and given her final prescription. They weened her kind of and I thank them for that but my complaint is everything was blamed on my wife and none was of the issues were acknowledged as their fault. The Dr. East is an asshole and doesn't care about patients. He never gave her a chance to explain. She also has been diagnosed with cancer. He told her she need to find a cancer pain Dr. His website says that's his specialty. His P.A. that saw my wife all these years is very sweet. I've been going to pain management clinics/orthopedic and spine surgeons for roughly 10 years. I've been to maybe 10-20 from Houston , to Austin , San Antonio and Dallas. Addison pain management was the best experience of customer service and genuine care for my recovery I've ever experienced, even fresh off a couple of harsh spinal surgeries. The doctor I saw gave me multiple solutions on what my next steps could be, and even went over possible payment methods and ways to go around having to pay a ton of money for rounds of injections. I almost gave up on trying to find a good doctor and almost didn't go in to this appt because so many doctors look at my file and are quick to throw a RX at me and not try different alternatives for PAIN MANAGEMENT ! She talked with me for about 40 min and adjusted my back/ribs and told me she would personally call to check on me in a few days. Even the ladies at the front were amazing. All very friendly.
