I recently had a new patient consultation with Dr. Rai. Overall, I was very impressed with his bedside manner. Unfortunately, his office does not prescribe pain medication. I'm by no means a drug seeker, but have been on a drug that has worked with me for the past decade. Dr. Rai was very professional and honest about his inability to help me switch from my current pain managment provider and have him continue my medication. He did make sure that my co-pay was refunded before I left the office. While, he could not help me, I do have respect for him since he was straightforward and honest. I do wish they would be more upfront about their practice's inability to prescribe controlled pain medication so that others know ahead of time. read more

I came in due to chronic low back pain. I was referred here by my primary care physician. It was difficult to make an appointment because the office staff almost never answers their phones. It took days of repeated calls, messages, emails, before I was ever able to get through. However they were able to make an appointment within a few days. For the consultation, the doctor seemed very confident that he knew what the problem was and suggested doing an injection. Did not discuss any other possible treatments (i.e. medication), just insisted the next step was to come back for an injection. I went for the injection and it went fine. I had more pain for the next 7 days than I did before coming in, and after that I felt no pain relief at all. I came in for my scheduled follow-up appointment and was exactly on time. I sat in the waiting room for 30 minutes and then came out to remind them that I was waiting and that it was 30 minutes past my appointment time. The person there said something like "oh you're probably next". I told them I had another appointment after this and could not just wait around indefinitely. I waited another 10 minutes and still no doctor showed up. I decided that I could not stay any longer as they were well past the appointment time. I asked if we can reschedule for a less busy time. They said the next available appointment is 30 days out! I asked if they think it's right that the doctor did not show for my appointment and now I have to wait 30 days for another chance? The scheduler told me that even if I come in after 30 days, the doctor may still be not on-time that day and that I have to just sit there and wait. At this point I decided to just leave and go someplace else. Their treatment was not effective at all, their office staff is impossible to get a hold of since they don't answer the phone or return messages, and if they can't keep their appointments then it's really a deal-breaker for me. Went to Sherman location, to see Dr. khan. So, the office staff was nice, friendly, happy, very welcoming. Then Dr. Khan came in. Super impersonal, I have Interstitial cystitis. AKA "Painful bladder disease", and i have something called hunners lesions (basically i have bleeding ulcers and sores in my bladder)-the pain from this disease causes a low quality of life for some sufferers. I would not wish this pain on my worst enemy, literally it's torture. My marriage is falling apart, I struggle being a active mom because I'm in constant chronic pain, pain management was my last resort. I have tried every natural remedy under the sun, I've avoided pain management for 8 solid years. Finally, the pain has gotten so debilitating i knew it was time to seek help. So i go here, thinking that they will give me some hope. I left, in tears. I'm an alcoholic in recovery with no drug addiction history, i have almost 5 years sober June 1st, but honestly, if i can't seek pain relief, I'm not sure how much longer I'll last. Dr. khan, had ZERO interest in knowing about IC, he had zero interest in even saying "I'm not familiar with it, let me research it, and see how we can help you" he basically just told me that because of my alcoholism history, the only two options he will give me is ketamine treatment (you want a alcoholic to get a treatment that produces a high like being drunk?) or a patch, which, it gets to be 100 degrees in Texas, so you want me to wear a patch that, if it gets too hot the medicine can be released and cause problems? Makes sense. No thanks, and basically he said "with your history I'm not comfortable prescribing you anything else" so, because I'm an alcoholic you just want me to suffer in excruciating pain daily? i have tried every single non narcotic medication out there. If i had found a solution that was non narcotic or any relief otherwise i wouldn't be sitting in a damn pain management clinic. So, basically, here i am, had my 5th bladder installation through my other doctor, and I'm in excruciating pain STILL. I feel hopeless. I feel angry. I feel judged. And i feel like i will never, ever have a normal life, and at some point will lose my family, job etc because the pain is too much to endure. So, thank you, for nothing. If you want to feel judged and hopeless, this is the place for you. Zero people skills, no personality, no compassion, and a quarter of a tank of gas and $60 wasted. I highly suggest going elsewhere for pain management. Whoever is reading this, i wish you relief, compassion, and a solution at your appointment, because i received the complete opposite. I was referred to Dr. Mishra by my primary care doc to address recurrent episodes of back pain due to herniated discs. Since my first apt with him early this year, he has consistently gone above and beyond in terms of patient care. He was able to get INS approval for imaging and got me in for an urgent injection apt after a severe episode last month. Dr. Mishra spends more time providing information, explanation , and answering questions than any specialist Ive seen. His staff always try to respond to emails and messages in a timely manner and the medical assistants in clinic are also great! read more

One of the worst experiences with a medical doctor I have ever experienced!! The communication between staff the doctor and patient is just awful. The communication on their guidelines is horrible. I was treated like my time has no value and total disregard for my health, I asked speak to the doctor turn my visit. My patient privacy was completely overlooked. The staff does not communicate any of their policies on if you reschedule an appointment that you will stop receiving treatment and They will drug test and demand that you urinate when they say otherwise they will drop you as a patient! Apparently everybody can urinate on command, And has all day to sit in the office to go to the bathroom which is what I was told I needed to do or I would be dropped as a patient! Unfortunately I already missed work to accommodate having to come in because I rescheduled my appointment and came in and then was told that I had to urinate or I was going to be dropped as a patient well unfortunately I didn't have to go and was told that I could not leave the building or I would be dropped well I don't have all day to sit in the office to wait till I had to go to bathroom I had a business meeting that I could not miss the following.. I was promised that the doctor would call me today and follow up with me on a plan of action since he decided to drop me over not being able to urinate on his time when I offered to come back later on the afternoon same day week blood test whatever it meant but that was not good enough for the doctor or staff. Dr. Mishra is very patient, and answered my numerous questions thoroughly and courteously. He was recommending a new procedure, and I had a variety of questions. He graciously answered each one. I was surprised that he did not do a physical exam. His Rx for the upcoming procedure was based solely on comparing two MRIs. That was a new concept for me. The office staff is polite. When leaving the facility, I had to request my discharge instructions. The office staff seemed a bit disorganized. The medical staff is amazing. Very professional. I barely felt the "stick" when prepping for my procedure. The tech said it is because they use the smallest needles. No bruising or soreness at the site. The tech monitoring me after my procedure was very attentive. I do wish the office provided printed materials about the particular procedure a patient is going to have. My procedure was called FLUID FLOW. When I got home after my initial consultation, I wanted to do some research. All I could find was what the manufacturer advertises. I wish I had some brochures from Pain & Spine Physicians to review. Also, after your procedure, you wait in a wheelchair. I think a recliner would be much more conducive to healing. I just had back injections, and I was sitting in a chair with virtually no support, and pressure was being applied to the very area that had been treated. I met with Dr. Mishra only once after being referred to him by my primary care physician. I was impressed with his examination and his explanation of the chronic problem that I have dealt with for almost 10 years, and hopeful that he would be able to help me. I liked his approach and trusted his knowledge of my chronic pain problem. I have had regular spinal injections about every six months to control the pain. Dr. Mishra did not want to administer another steroid injection since he believed they would no longer help me, and expressed concern that some of my organs could be in danger of being "killed by strangulation" from the awful adhesions in my pelvic cavity. He said I needed a gynecologist who is a surgeon as well as an oncologist to preform laparoscopy to help my chronic pain. He prescribed pain meds while he would locate a surgeon for me. Almost six months went by with no word. I called his office and left word. I received NO response. The next week I called again and left word. Again NO response. I called the next week and spoke with his nurse. She took all the information and said that Dr. Mishra would get back to me immediately. Again NO response. I called again and left a message telling him how much pain I was in and BEGGED him to return my call. Again, NO response. The next week, I called for the last time and told him that this would be my last call. I NEVER HEARD FROM HIM....AT ALL...EVER.... Needless to say, I have found an excellent pain doctor and am in line for the surgery that I need. I CANNOT imagine ANY doctor simply ignoring a patient, especially one in pretty severe pain. read more

Dr Mishra is fine but something is up with the office staff bc they rarely return calls, forget to call in med refills, don't know if the doc gets my messages bc I don't hear back. ***Amended review on a much later date: Dr Mishra remains great to work with and listens well but the staff over the med refills is seriously lacking and obviously Not medical, ie nurse, NP, or PA bc it has been an ongoing problem of getting meds refilled, they either don't get refilled on time or they forget to refill the entire rx ie one med instead of two. This happen more often than not. As a nurse, I KNOW the dangers of not getting narcotics on time for a chronic narcotic patient, withdrawals can result in seizures not to mention a costly trip to the ED just to deal with the withdrawal symptoms. This is a serious problem to deal with and horrible to have to worry about on a mo they basis. I also know this happens for more than just myself bc I have asked other patients when I was i their waiting room. If they make changes to correct this problem, then I will change/update my review. read more

An hour wait and very uncomfortable chairs to sit and wait in. I am not a fan of this place. When I asked how much longer they apologized because someone called in sick. Sorry, not my problem. If someone called in then you need to replace them or call the clients and tell them. If I am expected to come in on time or loose my appointment, then you are expected to take me in on time. read more

They do what they want NOT what is needed then ignore you. I would give Dr. Mishra 5 stars (Deena to) but the PA, Kate Lee, that I'm forced to see each month is just horrible, awful and brings the score down to a negative. A PA with a God complex. After suffering with stage IV Endometriosis (15+ surgeries) for over 20 years, as well as osteoarthritis, I've had a long struggle with chronic pelvic and lower back pain and she makes me feel guilty that I need help. It's debilitating 24/7. I can't even shower right now. Every month I have to see her she is so judgmental. All she cares about is "reducing my meds" which they have already done drastically since my first appointment in August 2019 (FYI that doesn't make your pain go away!!). I have had some very successful "blocks" performed by Dr. Mishra (this is the only time I ever see him). Sadly due to an infection and complication my last one didn't work at all which means my pain has been back with a vengeance. Does the PA care? Absolutely not because all she cares about is "reducing my meds". So this month without even discussing it with me, she reduces my pain meds again. Like she is God and if she says so then my pain will just dissipate at her will. Sorry but if it worked that way then I guess Dr. Mishra would be out if a job. The best part here, no one will return my call to try and get this resolved. 8 times last week I called and was told the horrible PA would call back...she never did. I eventually called again, explained AGAIN what was happening and that I needed to get a call from Dr. Mishra but of course, radio silence. How can you play with peoples lives this way? It's absolutely disgusting and more than that it's wrong. You are there to "manage your patients pain" so please start doing that. Dr. Mishra gave me so much hope during our very first meeting, I wish I had known then that my appointments would NEVER actually be with him, but rather with some wanna be Dr doing exactly what she wants, never what's best for the patient. This place is amazing!! I've been in chronic pain and completely disabled for over 15 years now and I've seen many Drs during that time ( different specialist- second opinions - not all pain management! Ha! ) and out of them all I this place!! In office injections with anesthesia - in and out in about an hour unless you need to discuss something. You're never rushed. Both Drs are very laid back and soft spoken ( that's why the 2 star review thought he didn't care - they are just always soft spoken and put you at ease right away ) Everyone is smiling, happy to see you and remembers you. There was a 2 year gap that I had to go to different pain management doctors in those 2 years because his office was too far away, and I no longer worked out in flower mound. The minute I heard that he comes to Frisco Mon-Wed-Friday- I was super excited! I have never had a better and more caring pain management doctor EVER than him! This clinic is a blessing I found after doing a simple internet search, reading the reviews from their patients and giving them a call. I literally spent 10's of thousands of dollars at Spine Team Texas in Southlake, Tx. They are snakes and crooks: read my review of them. This clinic doesn't play games, they get right to the root of the problem and with medications, injections and implants can completly wipe out your pain as they did mine. The day of my first visit I was completely pain free from that day until today. The doctors and staff don't treat you like a junkie. To them you are a human being in need of help, and help is what you will get. My visit was a life changing event and I have lived pain free ever since. I would recommend this clinic to anyone. My problem was extreme neuropathy in my feet caused by my hepatitus c. which I also wiped out that virus with the help of The Liver Institue of Dallas at Methodist. Dr Hayee saved my life. Long term degenerative disk disease and suffered terribly through my 30's and early 40's. It's been nothing short of a miracle. Haven't used a cane in more that two years.
