An employee here with blue hair named "Ariel" was absolutely the rudest, most verbally abusive…read moreperson I've ever met. I stayed here when I was a teenager and going through severe depression, and all she did was scream at us patients for trivial reasons, which only made my anxiety worse. I remember her venting and ranting about a loss she had in her family, and used that as an excuse to mistreat us patients, who also had our own problems to worry about. I've lost all my grandparents, aunts and uncles, and my mother yet Ariel still acted very condescending, acting as if nobody else had ever experienced the pain/loss she did; she just yelled at us all the time and was totally arrogant and rude. I left that place feeling even worse than I had entered because of her. If you're not prepared to help young, mentally ill patients just because YOUR mental illness is "soooo much worse" maybe don't work at a mental facility. Wish I could give zero stars, absolutely horrific experience.

Doctor McLaughlin instantly put me at ease when I met him at an inpatient unit. Whenever I have a question or concern, he gets right back to me - usually the same day! He will take the time to listen to me, and make sure he understands what I'm saying. Then he also gives me info, and makes sure I understand the plan. I very much appreciate the fact that he works with me. If I feel something isn't right with my meds, he'll let me experiment within a range and let him know what works. He won't just write a script because I ask, but if he believes it's appropriate he'll do it. He even takes the time to get to know me personally; when I go for a follow-up (sometimes several months later) he will ask me about stuff that I told him I was going to do. He remembers my interests, and treats me like a person, not just a mental disorder.
