If I could post 0 stars- I would. I have often taken the time to write a positive review and publicly thank someone, I have never written a negative review, until now. I had an 11:45AM appointment yesterday to see Dr. Jonathan Simhaee in the Englewood office. I arrived at 11:40AM and checked in. 45-minutes later at 12:30PM I asked the receptionist when the doctor might be ready to see me (as I watched 8-9 other patients called, some of them coming in after me). Her response was "he will see you soon," and then went back to chatting with colleagues. At 12:45PM, I again asked and was told "there are two people ahead of you..." What??? How? No emotion and no sense of concern. I realized then I was just a number in the system, which was so surprising because the doctor who referred me goes out of his way to make his patients feel like they really matter. Finally, at 1:15PM, I approached to remind her I had been waiting 1 1/2hours. A puzzled look came over her face: What was happening!!! After she checked her computer screen for a couple of minutes (not sure for what), she went in the back and next thing I knew someone called my name. I went into Dr. Simhaee's office and he entered shortly after me, and without even looking up, or making any reference or apology for running so late, (we're not talking 15-30-minutes, but 1 1/2 hours!) he just launched into "so what's the problem, even though the referring doctor had sent him a full report and MRI results which he hadn't bothered to read. It also hit me at that moment that when I last saw this doctor, 5-years ago, I had a similar negative experience. Unfortunately, my memory kicked in too late. I knew at this point that there was no way I was going to stay, even if it meant spiting myself. This place is a factory. I also knew at this point for my own sanity, I had to ask Dr. Simhaee what happened, hoping his response might evidence some concern or understanding. Instead, I got.... "I'm slammed; it's the holidays; I had an emergency." There was no apology or sense of concern." besides throwing the receptionist under the bus and saying he would talk to her later. I am the first to acknowledge that emergencies happen and appointments can run over time. That said, there's a way this should have been handled and it starts in the waiting room with the receptionist or whoever expressing some concern or acknowledgment of the situation. That didn't happen, ZILCH! So, I couldn't really be surprised when there was no acknowledgment from Jonathan SImhaee. This holier than thou culture flows from the top. Keeping patients waiting is "business as usual here." There's no other reasonable conclusion in the absence of someone from management "owning," acknowledging and attempting to ameliorate the situation. Here, the doctor-patient relationship is purely transactional. I am in the process of securing a new appointment with a new doctor. read more

Jonathan Simhaee is Unprofessional and Unethical. His office is an Overbooked, Billing Machine. 1. I have been in excruciating pain for three weeks and unable to walk at times. No one has even attempted to retrieved medical records from my previous Pain Management Doctor, or Physical Therapy X-rays, to expedite relief via a cortisone shot. As per Jonathan Simhaee they have too many patients to retrieve medical records and I should go elsewhere. He talks in circles like a used car salesman, had a tantrum and refused service and treatment, like a bully not a Doctor. 2. They kept insisting that I had a copay when I do not, and demanded payment. I can't imagine how much money they steal with this tactic. 3. It's 2pm and my appointment was 12pm. 4. The PA ,Matty, had the same bad attitude , and gets combative when you ask questions this is a top down problem in this office. 5. His behavior was so egregious that I am reporting him to the state board of licensing. read more

Dr. Simhaee is the best doctor. I had serious back pain and sciatica down to my left leg. I could not walk properly before I received his medical treatment. At that time, I felt so sorry for my family because I could not do anything for them due to the pain. With Dr. Simhaee's amazing treatment and medical follow-ups, I am able to get back to normal life, enjoying wonderful time with my lovely wife and kids. He does care about his patients!! Dr Simhaee is amazing. I have been a patient for two years. He is caring, patient and listens to you. A pain management doctor needs to be sympathetic which he does stupendously. When you think about it, everyone that comes to see him-is in some sort of pain (including myself). I unfortunately had a bad fall and he has done everything to relieve my back pain. I usually see him in the forest hills office and have had injections at the EMU In Queens and also the Brooklyn office. Btw his staff is also fabulous in both offices. I consider myself lucky and fortunate to have found him. read more

Dr. Simhaee is an excellent and caring physician. He is thorough and always asks if the patient has questions. Another plus is that very rarely is there a lot of waiting time. You're pretty much in and out. I would also like to add that the support staff at the Englewood office is always friendly and extremely professional. I had severe back pain which Dr. Simhaee was able to effectively treat until I could schedule my surgery. He has also helped my mother with her spine as she could not even stand or walk with a walker before she was treated by Dr. Simhaee. He has also helped my husband with his back pain. I had been suffering with severe pain for months in my left buttock that radiated down my leg to my knee and calf and sometimes even to my foot. It was excruciating just getting in and out of my car. I was sent to physical therapy by my GP which proved to be useless so I consulted with a rheumatologist I had been to before; Dr. Neil Gonter and he referred me to Dr. Simhaee. After a brief examination and a few questions he scheduled me for a targeted injection the next morning. The procedure was simple and quick and I barely felt the needle at all. Relief began coming within minutes. By the time I got to my car most of the pain was gone. I had to get a second injection a couple of weeks later because there was a little residual pain but now it is completely gone. If you have this type of pain this is definitely the way to go for fast relief. Dr. Simhaee also has a pleasant and easy going manner. Don't live with pain any longer than you must. Dr. Simhaee is wonderful. He takes his time with his patients and hears them out. He has excellent bedside manners and thinks outside of the box. He doesn't rush you into making a decision but facilitates an educated decision as he explains things in crystal clear detail. He makes it simple and speaks my language. For two or three months I could not bend my neck to the left. As an equestrian who competes in hunter/jumpers this was unnerving. I saw a chiropractor three times a week for at least six weeks to no avail. My regular M.D. referred me to Dr, Simhaee. He suggested injecting my neck. Honestly, I had zero faith in this helping, and the thought of sticking needles in my neck was frightening. However, Dr. Simhaee explained everything he was going to do which made me feel much more comfortable. It's been a few weeks since the procedure was done and I'm SO much better. He is very professional and immediately calmed me down. He knew exactly what I needed and he even double checked to make sure the brace I needed was the right one after I got it.
