Avila Electric (Gregory Avila) installed an 18kw Generac Generator in December 2024…read more Recently the generator displayed an error code (not related to the gas line). I called a Certified Generac Installer to correct error code so that my10 year warranty would pay for the repairs. When the certified Generac Technician arrived, he informed me that the natural gas line regulator was not installed to Generac's Installation Guidelines Manual (the manual is shipped with the unit). The gas line regulator requirements are clearly stated in the manual. The technician noted that the flex is not to be bent and that the manual clearly stated the flex line should be as straight as possible. Because of these two infractions, Generac would void the warranty. I did some research and verified that Generac would void my warranty. In addition to these errors Gregory gave me the wrong serial number for the transfer switch, so the transfer switch is not covered under warranty. I made two phone calls to Gregory Avila and did not receive a response. I finally texted a detailed explanation of the infraction and asked him to correct the problem, I even offered to pay for any additional materials needed to get the get the gas line into compliance. Gregory refused to correct his mistakes, because the unit has been running for 1.5 years and his warranty was voided. I told Gregory that his warranty had nothing to do with the problem, and that he created the problem by not following Generac's Installation requirements and that he should be the one responsible for correcting the gas line to comply with Generac. He has not responded. I would not recommend Avila Electric for any project.
