I have been having one of those frustrating times with my wisdom tooth. Teeth problems are the worst. You can't speak, you can't eat and you totally can not be in a good mood.
After visiting my Dentist, I was referred to Dr Jones and Partners to get an xray to see what my wisdom tooth was doing. There are a couple of locations around Adelaide. But, instead of going to the one in the CBD (which I am told gets very busy), I decided to go to one a little closer to home. To be honest, I really just wanted to check out the Burnside Hospital. It's got such a lovely grounds. Beautiful big garden that surrounds the old building.
Being that this is a smaller operation, I called ahead to see if I needed a booking. They said you could walk in; but there is a good chance you will need to wait a lot longer for the next booking. So, I made an appointment.
The reception staff were really lovely and happy try and get me in even earlier if I wanted. Which suited me fine. The nurse that assisted me with the xray was equally as friendly. She was kind enough to satisfy my curiosity and questions about her profession and machinery.
I was put in a 3D xray machine (first time for me), which I found very exciting. Although I did not have a 3D xray, she showed me how it works and explained what they use it for. Apparently it's used in a lot of forensic cases. How cool!
After some chat, she took a picture of my teeth and then explained what she saw on the image. So educational. The whole appointment took around 20 mins, but I feel like I got a lot more than just an xray. I got an insight into what this nurse did on a daily basis. Love it and I was very impressed with the service here!
